Module 2: Applications and Tools of Generative AI
Considering your profession and nature of work, how do you see generative AI impacting and enhancing your work? Can you share some tasks, processes, or other aspects of your work that have or can change through generative AI?
If you are a student, have you experienced the use of generative AI in education or training?
We encourage you to engage in a constructive discussion here:

As an optometrist, generative Ai will help me to streamline my treatment and management plans of my patient eye health challenges.
Also to personalise the treatment modules especially in chronic eye health diseases.
Furthermore, text to image tools will enhance my observational changes seen in each treatment measures.
Generative Ai helps me in smooth delivery of my administrative work and ease my workload
Ai generative platform are really good
Generative AI has really helped in education, as a student it has helped in learning in key areas in subjects
As an educator, generative AI has helped in reducing workload by assisting in the preparation of lesson notes and assignment questions. It also generates images that are used as instructional aids, as well as visual and audio slides that support effective teaching and learning. Furthermore, it increases my productivity by reducing the time I spend in preparing lesson materials, allowing me as an educator to focus more on guiding students through the learning process.
It also aid the students through the learning process as they consult most generative AI tools for assignment answers, project and research work
So personally, even before I began taking this course, I had little knowledge of generative AI, and I believe when used appropriately it could solve so many things.
I’m a student, and I can testify to how these tools make learning a little easier, you could get proper understanding on things you probably didn’t understand, aid with assignments and particularly for me as a final year student working on my project, I don’t necessarily have to visit so many libraries or what not before I can get access to a lot of materials, in general, generative AI is more than handy if handled right.
Generative AI is one of the most valuable tools and skill needed in workspace to enhance productivity, AI has it own personalization strenght that give or ue to empower the user in any filed. AI still have it wn contribution in education making things like self pace studies to essier for anyone intererted on it. it empower students with more knowledge outside the classroom and shool explanation.
Ai can actually enhance education, used as learning aid, that is, support learning and not replace it. Ai can improve teaching quality and learners engagement and it can also help in the area of research for projects but still retaining creativity and insights. When Ai is used properly it can change the world, infact it’s already changing the world
A PEER DISCUSSION ON THE USE OF GENERATIVE AI IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Generative AI is becoming a valuable part of education and training, and when used well, it can truly support learning rather than replace it. One of its biggest strengths is personalization. AI can help tailor lessons, explanations, and practice activities to suit different learning speeds and abilities, making education more inclusive. In training settings, it can create realistic simulations and give immediate feedback, helping learners build confidence and practical skills.
From an educator’s point of view, generative AI can also reduce workload. It can assist with preparing lesson materials, quizzes, and training resources, allowing teachers and trainers to spend more time guiding learners and encouraging deeper understanding. This support can improve both teaching quality and learner engagement.
That said, it’s important to acknowledge the concerns. Overreliance on AI may affect critical thinking, and issues like academic honesty, data privacy, and bias cannot be ignored. If access to AI tools is unequal, it could also widen learning gaps instead of closing them.
A balanced approach is key. Generative AI should be used as a learning aid, not a shortcut. Teaching students how to use it responsibly, question its outputs, and apply their own thinking is essential. With clear guidelines and ethical use, AI can enhance education while still keeping human insight and creativity at the center.
Conclusively, when used thoughtfully, generative AI has the potential to make learning more effective, engaging, and relevant for today’s world.
