As a team leader on several projects in my past, communication and time management are the skills that I found more difficult with and this are the skills that I feel I need to improve on.
The areas I need to improve on are communication and negotiation. Communication is a life skill that can either open doors or close them if not well utilized. Negotiation is another skill that I know I will be needing in my career path in the long run, if not at present.
As a project manager, time management, communication, continual professional development, and understanding the regulatory environment are important skill to build.
Personally, I need to work on the aspect of understanding the regulatory environment and having the mind to continue growing or developing professionally.
Communication and Negotiations are the two major skills that are very essential as a business owner and an accountant. Poor communication can close down any business and lacking the skill to negotiate with clients. Time management is also important because you want to use your time effectively and win the trust of clients by keeping to time.
The skills I’ll love to cultivate is understanding the regulatory environment, ethics and adherence to standards of the accounting profession and my business. I believe if I’m able to learn these two skills, I’ll do better in my career and business as well.
Lastly, continuous professional development. I would love to keep developing and upgrading my knowledge.
As a project manager, strong communication, time management, and negotiation skills are essential to my success. These help me lead teams effectively, manage timelines, and secure resources. However, I see opportunities to grow in understanding the regulatory environment specific to my industry, which would enhance compliance and risk management. I also aim to prioritize continual professional development to stay current with evolving practices and tools. Lastly, maintaining high ethical standards remains a priority, and I strive to reinforce this consistently. By strengthening these areas, I can improve project outcomes and provide greater value to my organization and team.
As a future business owner, I’ll need all the 6 skills so I don’t become redundant and can effectively manage my business properly
