Communication, time management, ethics and standards, and negotiations are the most important
As a project manager, effective time management is critical for delivering projects on schedule and maintaining team productivity.
Here’s a structured approach to mastering this skill:
1. Prioritization Techniques
Categorize tasks into:Urgent & Important
Important but Not Urgent (Schedule, e.g., planning)
Urgent but Not Important (Delegate, e.g., minor queries)
Neither (Eliminate).
2. Tools & Systems
Digital Tools: Use apps like Trello (Kanban), Asana (task tracking), or Microsoft Project (Gantt charts) to visualize timelines.
Time Blocking: Allocate fixed slots for deep work.
Automation: Automate repetitive tasks
3. Delegation & Team Coordination
My current job needs communication, time management and negotiation the most. We work with truck drivers from different companies and cities, so they speak different languages so it is important to communicate in English so that we can understand each other. Also we have to negotiate sometimes because they come and they say they are in a hurry so we must make them understand the rules that we work under that when ethics and standards comes in. We have to manage time very well too because they don’t have to wait for us, they must find us waiting for them.
