Various definitions of the concept of quality have been put forward.
One generic definition (Pass, 2006b) is as follows:
The overall characteristics of a product or service that fulfill the requirements of customers in terms of quality.
This definition aligns with the viewpoint of Joseph Juran, who, in the 1950s, defined quality as ‘fitness for use’ (as quoted in ASQ, 2019).
This definition is largely consistent with the definition of quality provided by APM (2019, p. 214):
The suitability for the intended purpose and the degree to which the output of a process or the process itself conforms to the requirements.

In some cases, individuals are enthusiastic about producing high quality outcomes whereas some individuals do not produce quality outputs without a supervision.
I agree with the statements that emphasize a customer-centric approach, early consideration, open communication, and intrinsic motivation for quality.
I disagree with the statements that view quality as solely internal, execution-focused, or requiring constant supervision.

Quality should definitely be focused on customer needs. It’s all about meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
It’s also important to consider quality from the project’s inception. This helps prevent issues later on. Quality planning, assurance, and control should be integral parts of the project lifecycle.
Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions. This is true as if fosters transparency in addressing quality issues building a culture of continuous improvement.
Emphasizing quality from the beginning, maintaining open communication about issues, and fostering a supportive environment are critical for achieving quality objectives in Project Management.
I agree that quality should be a top priority considered from the start, with open communication about issues.
2. Quality issues should be openly discussed to identify corrective actions. Openly identifying and addressing quality problems is crucial for continuous improvement.
3. Quality should prioritize the customer’s needs. While customer needs are important, quality should balance the needs of customers, the business, and other stakeholders
Quality should be focused on the customer’s needs: Quality is often defined by how well a product or service meets the customer’s expectations and needs. Customer satisfaction is a key indicator of quality.
Quality should be considered from the beginning of the project: Incorporating quality from the project’s inception ensures that standards and expectations are set early, reducing the risk of defects and rework later.
Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions: Transparency in addressing quality issues fosters a culture of continuous improvement and helps in finding effective solutions through collaborative efforts.
People are keen on producing quality outputs: Generally, people take pride in their work and aim to produce quality outputs, especially when they are motivated, adequately trained, and provided with the necessary resources.
