Various definitions of the concept of quality have been put forward.
One generic definition (Pass, 2006b) is as follows:
The overall characteristics of a product or service that fulfill the requirements of customers in terms of quality.
This definition aligns with the viewpoint of Joseph Juran, who, in the 1950s, defined quality as ‘fitness for use’ (as quoted in ASQ, 2019).
This definition is largely consistent with the definition of quality provided by APM (2019, p. 214):
The suitability for the intended purpose and the degree to which the output of a process or the process itself conforms to the requirements.
Now take a moment to consider the following statements about quality. Which ones do you agree with?

- Quality problems should be concealed from customers and possibly managers.
- Individuals are enthusiastic about producing high-quality outcomes.
- Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.
Share your thoughts on these statements in the discussion section below.

All of the above are valid points about quality. Since quality can be measurable and can also be used to assess how well a product or service meets customer needs and expectations. However, I disagree with the point that says quality problems should be concealed from customers and possibly managers. Because to measure quality, it must achieve functionality, reliability, usability, and aesthetics.
I agree with all the statements above about quality. Prioritizing customer’s needs means meeting their requirements and expectations. Quality is an internal focus because, the team focuses on continuous improvement. Producing high-quality outcomes or projects enhances reputation. By prioritizing quality in project management, organizations can deliver high-quality projects that meet stakeholder expectations and enhance their reputation.
Quality is about ensuring a product or service meets customer expectations. I agree that quality should prioritize customer needs, be considered from the start of a project, and be openly discussed to find solutions. The execution phase is crucial for achieving quality, and most individuals aim to produce high-quality work. However, I disagree that quality should be an internal focus, that problems should be hidden, or that close supervision is always necessary for quality output.
I agree with all the statements about quality, indeed quality should be considered at the inception of the project, but what I don’t agree with is that team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.
I think the issue there will be the willingness of the members, if the project has been explained from the beginning and everything in place there’s absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t be able to do a good job without close supervision.
I agree with all the listed points about quality, quality needs to be focused on the customer’s needs, but I don’t agree with the part that says quality problems should be hidden from customers and possibly also managers, it’s advisable to be transparent and communicate effectively with customers and managers not only about the positive things but about the negative issues as well.
As mentioned above. A best project Manager depends on the quality of output produced by you and your team.
All the outlined points are valid.
Quality project management refers to the criteria aspect that influences project success, customer satisfaction and organizational reputation. The project manager must ensure that this is achieved.

I fully agree with some of the points on the definition of quality and I would like to ad that quality births respect and integrity, it leaves a mark on the company, project manager and also the team members.
Apart from customers enjoying their products, the company gets awarded with more projects and that brings about growth.
Quality is a vital ingredient in project delivery and customer satisfaction. I define Quality as adequately utilizing resources to meet clients satisfaction. Quality is an attribute of diligence and integrity.
Quality is important while delivering projects and should be discussed while managing a Team.
Quality distinguishes a brand and should be incorcated in every aspect of the project and well communicated by the Project Manager.
I believe that quality should be discussed and agreed upon from the beginning of the project and not left till the executive stage, as quality work will start from how well planned and thought of a project is.
