  1. Diverse team tends perform well than homogeneous team on the basis that the project is a short term or sprint. Examples of such could be emergency fire team, the ocean rescue team etc.
If the project is a long one, at the point of storming, they may take too long to move to norming because of cultural differences, language barrier and some other factors that characterised them to be diverse.

  2. There is a good synergy between diversity and performance in various ways,
For instance in managing a project job diverse teams can bring thier experiences, expertise, innovation, creativity and better decision-making.
Workplace: diversity and inclusion can enhance employee engagement, retention and productivity.

Diverse teams can foster critical thinking, empathy and cultural competence.
diverse teams will work more effectively in
    Innovation, Problem-solving,decision-making, creativity, better representation.

The challenges that might be encountered are
    Communication barriers, conflict, biases.

Diverse teams can do better work if managed effectivelyin an inclusive and collaborative environment.

To be fair i do think the effectiveness of a diverse team depends on the Project Manager, because if he is able to motivate the team i and bring them together, then their effectiveness as a team will be unrivalled but if he cant, it will be close to impossible to work together. There are many challenges for a diverse team but the most occurring ones are language, cultural beliefs, these are very strong barriers for diverse teams cause communication is one of the most important things when it comes to being part of a team and cultural beliefs too.

  4. From my experience, I’ve seen that diverse teams tend to outperform homogeneous ones. Diversity brings different perspectives, ideas, and approaches to problem-solving, leading to more innovative and effective solutions.

Diverse teams can generate more creative solutions, make better decisions, and even perform better financially. However, they can also face challenges like communication barriers, conflicts, and cultural differences.

To overcome these challenges, teams need to foster open communication, build trust and empathy, and establish clear goals and expectations. By embracing diversity and addressing potential challenges, teams can unlock the benefits of diverse perspectives and experiences, leading to superior performance and outcomes.

  5. Yes there is a relationship between diversity and performance,When managed effectively diversity can be a powerful driver of performance and project success. But howfar we have to be mindful of the nature of the task and the differnt types of diversity.

Do diverse team perform better? While we can say that they perform better than the homogeneous teams because of different varieties of ideas, perspectives, experiences and even background.
The challenges of working in a highly diverse team is that one group might expect prefential treatment or might not even endorse the purpose of the organisation, this may be
    a disadvantage.

  6. More diverse teams do better at work because, everyone will be committed to do better just to deliver the project or job and enhancing that aspects to sell themselves oput and attract good connections rather than working with people you already know, the job tends to slow down because we might find out that we just have to give each team member time to finish and this will crawl the project.

  7. Diversity of individuals in a team has it’s advantages, one of which is getting the work done right since there will be different ideas to choose from. Also, with it comes delay in execution because in most cases, there will be need to sample the different opinions/ideas before settling for the best fit.

  8. There’s a difference between diversity and performance.
Diversity team involves different kind of people in a group to perform or work on a project and this brings impressive results because there will be different ideas from everyone and it helps them to meet the target point, there will be no delay and they are more focused than the homo team.
I will Also say Diversity team brings a greater performance, they perform well and produce great result.

  9. Diversity and performance are connected. They both work hand in hand. As a Project Manager, I must enable the newly formed team to reach its best performance as smoothly and quickly as possible.

From the video, the man explain what we can call a team performance using an Acronym of SMEAC as a lifeboat crews
    S- Situation
    M- Mission
    E- Execution
    A- Administration
    C- Command
This is a way of organizing information to the team about situation at hand and how it can be solved.

  10. Diversity in a project team is more of an asset to the team than a liability. In diversity lies great talents, expertises, skills, experience, innovative ideas which if well coordinated and managed ll have overreaching and significant impact on the team’s success and performance. While diversity is rich in its value to the team, it comes with its own unique challenges especially during the formation phase of the team. The ability to win the trust, commitment and experience of these diverse members is key to what performance outcomes to expect from the team. The Team may experience STORMING initially but with good PM who understands the importance of communication, interaction and collaboration he ll be able to bring the storming to NORMING by way of CHATERING (definition of purpose, Alignment of how the team works and situation-understanding how the project fits into the wider organization).
