From my point of view and everything I have been learning so far on project manager,John lack one of the principles of a project manager which is to carry the team along.
From the scenarios John was able to humble himself and admit his mistake which paid off for the team to come up with a way to tackle the issues and find solutions as everyone is now on the same page.
There was lack of integrity from William when he carried out the engagement program without the knowledge of John. He also assumed that the report would please John even though John didn’t play any part in the planning or decision making.
There was lack of communication from Karen because she was afraid to seem like she was criticizing John and was also worried about her probation period.
In the end, they demonstrated critical thinking and collaboration to come up with a solution for the next stage of the project.
In the case stud, I can pinpoint the following values: Determination, achievement of goals, Team work.
John was so determined on getting the work done in as much as his report wasn’t that good enough.
karen display the value of team work knowing John’s personality but she couldn’t back down because of the long term goal and company’s reputation, she surmone courage to identify the mistakes in the the report and suggest the possible way out. This also shows great interest in the project they were up to.
William also shows passion in his specialty by trying to engage with the stakeholders which is very important and the first step to take before starting a project.
