Put yourself in the role of a project manager collaborating with MTD, an events company.
Considering the difficulties and problems that MTD encounters in their projects, what insights have you gained this week that could offer assistance?
If an iterative approach were employed in organizing an event as a project, what would be the consequences? Similarly, what are the implications of adopting an agile approach? If the company sought your advice, what would you recommend?

As a project manager in MTD project, I will use agile approach and iterative approach to get my project done because the both approach needs to reflect in my project much so I will use iterative method to get my project done. Iterative method opens you to greater chances of being transparency and getting the feedback you might need to add to your own idea to executive the project.
The best combinations is using the agile and iterative methods, using agile practices for dynamic methods and for fundamental elements through iterative planning. This bring balance in unseen situations ensuring a successful project.
The best is to combine iterative and agile methods. I will use iterative planning for foundational elements and agile practices for dynamic aspects. This hybrid approach balances it, ensuring successful project delivery even in uncertain conditions.
As a project manager I will recommend the use of iterative and agile approach in MTD project reason is so because:
Iterative Approach involves breaking down a project into smaller, manageable chunks, and repeatedly cycling through a series of phases to deliver incremental value. While,
Agile is a project management methodology that emphasizes flexibility, collaboration, and rapid delivery. It enhances frequent feedback and fast delivery’s, ensuring customer satisfaction and stakeholder management .
Recommendation:
1)Implement Agile Iterations: Use Agile iterations (sprints) to deliver working software in short cycles, while incorporating Iterative Approach principles to refine and improve deliverables.
2)Foster Collaboration and Feedback: Encourage collaboration, open communication, and regular feedback loops to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project.
3)Prioritize Customer Needs and Deliver Incremental Value: Focus on delivering incremental value that meets customer needs and expectations, while continuously gathering feedback to refine and improve deliverables.
4)Monitor Progress and Adjust: Regularly monitor project progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust the project plan accordingly to ensure successful project delivery.
By combining Agile and Iterative Approaches, MTD company can leverage the benefits of both methodologies to deliver successful projects that meet customer needs and expectations.
As a project manager, I recommend using both the iterative and agile approaches.
Iterative Approach: This allows flexibility by breaking the project into smaller chunks, enabling early detection of issues and continuous improvement.
Agile Approach: Enhances collaboration, frequent feedback, and fast delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and better stakeholder management.
Recommendation: Combining both approaches will improve team communication, enable quick responses to changes, and ensure smoother project execution, ultimately leading to better outcomes for MTD.
As a project manager, the consequences of using just the iterative approach could be sourcing for expertise whenever a sudden change in the project arise.
The implication of adopting the agile approach in MTD is that it complements the iterative approach through team work, effective planning and meetings, early detection , rapid delivery to meet customers and stakeholders demands.
I would recommend both iterative and agile approaches to MTD as they’ll help in timely feedback, effective team communication with stakeholders and smooth project outcome.
Well as a project manager collaborating with MTD, I will recommend the use of Iterative and Linear approach to tackle the project.
Implications of adopting an agile approach: An agile approach will help to tackle the project as it helps enhances flexibility and team work.
In conclusion, I recommend that both the Iterative and agile approach, cause it will help the projects run smoothly.
As a project manager I will recommend (advice) the use of iterative and agile approach in MTD project because of the following reasons;
The flexibility in responding (adapting) to changes in the project, continuous improvement and early detection of issues that may occur in the project as it relates to providing quality drinking water(iterative approach to the project). This is done through breaking down of project into smaller chunks, and repeatedly iterating through cycle of planning, execution and review (meeting to check progress or deviation, as well as addressing the issues).
While the agile approach consolidate the iterative project approach through collaboration and team work, customer satisfaction, rapid delivery and continuous improvement to meet the demand or needs of the stakeholders of the project.
In conclusion, both iterative project approach and agile project management approach will be beneficial to MTD as it strengthen the impact of the project manager and the project team towards their stakeholder and any issue is earlier notice, and the feedback can lead to better planning and strategies.
As a project manager I will advise the company makes use of both iterative approach and agile approach.
Iterative approach:it allows the breakdown or dividing of project into smaller phases. This approach allows improvement base on the feedback gotten but the implications includes; waste of resources: while working base on feedback you might end up exceeding the budget.
Waste of Time: waste of time from stakeholders just to get feedback is quite tedious.
Agile approach: it allows flexible and adaptability. It allows team corporation and morals among teammates.
So I will advise they make use of the two approach in order to achieve their goals and deliver the project to the client.
Taking an iterative approach to setting up an event allows for continuous improvement, with opportunities to refine ideas and adapt based on feedback at each stage. This approach ensures flexibility but may extend timelines if not well-managed.
An agile approach emphasizes collaboration, adaptability, and delivering value incrementally. It can lead to more innovative and responsive event planning but requires a team to be comfortable with dynamic changes and clear communication.
My advice would be to combine the two: use iterative planning for the initial event concept to solidify the foundation, then adopt agile principles for execution to stay adaptable and responsive to real-time changes.
“Combining linear and iterative project approaches can help MTD overcome challenges. An iterative approach is beneficial when:
– Completed work is a priority for sponsors and the organization
– The environment, business strategy, and project scope are likely to change
Adopting a hybrid approach, blending linear and iterative methods, can improve project management, especially for software projects prone to cost and schedule overruns.”
