technology has been one factor that has contributed immensely to the ease in operation and record keeping.
Social and Political change affects the smooth running of business when government dont have legalized ways and mediums to dessiminate information to business owners. when they are more keen on penalties than helping citizens identify necessary steps to take discourages the smooth running of my business.

  20. Working in medical field, the impact of global issues such as technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis have significantly affect my organization and their projects in various ways. In terms of technology, the Covid-19 pandemic has made a lot of innovative ideas spring fort and we now have tele health services, on the flip side, it has also been a source of concern as health practitioners are beginning to worry about the dismissal of man power since the inception of AI, In terms of social change and environmental issues, there is the rise in brain drain affecting availability of some special consultants. In all these challenges, my organization has made conscious effort to consult with practitioners online, do special medical outreaches to raise awareness about the diseases the country is endemic to.

  21. We can not talk about global uncertainty without reflecting on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic that it has caused on projects and changed the way they operate and socialize, and work. Before the outbreak, none was aware of how it was going to affect business and industry operations. During Covid-19 time, there was a time when institutions were obliged to close doors or employees had to work from home through online interaction. This highlighted the need to adopt new technology and innovation. It means that the normal way of operating has changed especially on project performance and project implementation. Therefore, approaches and practices for managing projects had to change from one approach to another.

  35. In response to the declining number of calls despite the evident psychological impact of the economic situation, our helpline project conducted research by administering questionnaires to diverse audiences. The findings revealed a noteworthy barrier: although there was an increase in mental stress and a heightened need for therapy, the perceived expense of making phone calls to our center hindered accessibility for many.

In light of this, we decided to address the financial barrier by introducing an alternative and more cost-effective mode of communication. We’ve now incorporated a WhatsApp chat number alongside our traditional call center line. This addition aims to provide people with a more affordable means of reaching out to us, acknowledging the financial constraints that some individuals may be facing.

By offering a WhatsApp chat option, we anticipate that more individuals will find it easier to connect with our helpline service, fostering a more accessible and inclusive platform for mental health support. This adjustment aligns with our commitment to breaking down barriers and ensuring that our services remain readily available to those in need, particularly during challenging economic circumstances.

  36. Managing project costs in Nigeria these days is so unpredictable with the constant dollar increase and/or decrease.

Chijioke Obioma, Team 5, Cohort 13

  37. Awareness of changes such as social & political change, environmental crisis is essential for aligning our projects with trending &evolving needs that concerns our immediate student community. Eco-Friendly project practise makes these activities align with the global environment goal. However there should be a balance in the Agile and Traditional management approaches for effective implementation as the world revolves.

  38. The political and climatic context generally has unpredictable impacts on my organization’s projects. This is particularly evident in the case of the war in the East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which disrupts road traffic and compels the populations in our project area to leave their respective living environments. This complex situation demands constant adaptation and mobilization to find sustainable solutions in the face of challenges posed by these political and climatic factors.

  39. Global issues such as technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental issues have a significant impact on organizations and the projects they undertake.

Technology: While technology offers opportunities for efficiency gains in all areas. organizations have to continuously adapt to rapid changes.

In light of these factors, I must stay informed, adapt to change, and use project management approaches responsive to uncertainty and shifting dynamics in the educational and social environment. We may need to balance traditional project management methods with agile approaches to remain adaptable and effective in a complex and ever-changing world.

  42. Global issues can have an impact on a project or an organization. Using Nigeria as a case study, the legal tender in the company is really affecting the value of the currency, to carryout any project now too much money will be spent just to get a project done because it has lose it value

  43. Global issues can have a strong impact in an organisation’s project and decision, in a case of currency devaluation which is influenced by political changes, this can affect the budget and timelines of project negatively.
In cases of competition which is cause by oversaturated market, this can affect the project Negatively hence the need to create a more improved version of whatever project an organisation is handling to differentiate and give them an edge over other competitors.

  44. Global issues such as technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental issues can and do impact organisation’s and project in both positive and negative ways.
In the engineering world, new technology brought about new, easier and effect ways of completing projects on time with less hands on or hard work, plus it has enhances communication too.

Environmental issues, global issues do affect companies and project as it disrupts vendor of material and tools which in turn affect project timeline and deadline.
In general, all this issues can affect a project manager engaged on a project but then should readily be able to anticipate, accept and work round/with these changes.

  45. Technology enhances communication, which in essential aspect of project management across different fields.

Social and environmental changes have affected the event sector in a lot of negative ways, most problems caused by economic changes. Companies and individuals can no longer afford events of their dreams which limits creativity in the part of event project managers.

  46. It is true that global issues such as new technology, trade and competition, social and political actions and inactions, and the global environmental crisis have effect on the world that we live in and the work that we do. Global crisis and political instability affect my organization and my project. It makes completion of old and new projects almost impossible to meet up with the deadline.

  47. It is true that global matters like new technology, trade and competition, social and political disturbances, and the environmental emergencies affect the world that we live in and the work that we do.

As a Journalist, political disturbance has to be the height of these for the journalism profession. Most media houses filter their stories especially political ones that involve big wigs before publishing. This is because press freedom is not guaranteed in the country where I live and work.

  48. global issues like technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental problems, had affected different aspect of our life and even the project we Carry out. So of these changes have been useful as it makes work faster and easy why some have affected it negatively.

  49. The global issues really impacted our library organization:
Technology: Libraries are influenced by technological advancements in terms of digitization, online resources, and information management systems. We adapted to evolving technologies to offer digital services, enhance accessibility, and manage electronic collections efficiently.
Competition: With the rise of digital content platforms and online resources, our library faced competition for information dissemination. To remain relevant, we need to focus on specialized collections, unique services, and community engagement to distinguish our services.
Social and Political Changes: We were affected by societal shifts and political changes as they play a crucial role in providing diverse perspectives and information. There was need to be responsive to societal needs, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and addressing issues related to censorship and intellectual freedom.
Environmental Problems: Our Library like other organizations, are increasingly considering environmental sustainability. This involves initiatives such as reducing paper consumption, energy-efficient operations, and promoting eco-friendly practices in our community outreach.
In summary, libraries must navigate these global issues by embracing technology, differentiating themselves in a competitive landscape, staying socially and politically aware, and contributing to environmental sustainability in their operations.

  50. COVID-19 Was the global pandemic that really affected almost every sector of working. For me I work in a non-profit organization which works to promote healthy living through evidence based social behavior change communication, In COVID-19 we were surely affected ranging from complexity of new schedules of remote working (New approach) to responsible relevant community interventions to fight against the pandemic. So, in this world every organization should always be sought to be designed in a way that accept changes. (Flexibility)

  51. Global issue such as food insecurity and climatic change has significant impact on the economy, thereby creating more inflation against food industry.

It creat scarcity of food and challenges food vendors to close up

  52. Global issues like technology, competition, social change, political change, and the environment can have a significant impact on construction companies in Nigeria. For example, advances in technology, such as new materials and methods, can impact the way construction projects are completed. Competition from other countries, such as China, can put pressure on Nigerian construction companies to improve their efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Social and political change can impact the availability of funding and labor, and environmental concerns can impact the types of projects that are approved and built.
These global issues do have a variety of impact projects. For example, new technologies can make projects more efficient and effective, but they can also lead to higher costs and increased competition. Social and political change can lead to delays or disruptions in projects, and environmental concerns can add new layers of regulations and costs. These issues can also have an impact on the skills and resources that are available for the projects, which can affect how quickly and efficiently they are completed.

  53. The emergence of technology, along with other global issues like global warming and environmental concerns, spells more problems for an already complex world. A project manager should be able to anticipate issues that may result from these challenges and come up with solutions, as well as identify the right people to successfully deliver on projects. For example, when a law firm seeks to launch a freelance app for legal services, the Project Manager (PM) should first understand that there is already competition in the market. The PM should then consider possible solutions, such as communicating with the project sponsor, stakeholders, and team members about the need to add novel or catchy features to the app. This will distinguish it from other freelance apps already available to the public. It could potentially attract investors and active subscribers upon the launch of the app.

  54. Technological, political, economic and even legal changes are bound to happen and makes its own effect in the business. Project managers should learn to adapt to changes in whatever forms it may have come. Not to quickly forget the fact that, a project manager should not run away in the face of challenges, critical creative decisions that would not defile ethical standards are required to take into consideration.
For example, in my organization as a book publishing firm, the financial challenges of inflation have come to bedeviled business, and the publishing industry is not excempted. For the fact that so many finds it difficult to have there three square meals, is an indication of it suggesting that many may find it difficult to get their manuscripts published. On the course of our research, we have to publish a book that we think may be used as an avenue to raise money for our organization in order for it to remain a going concern, we were not surprised that for almost a year now, the same first edition of the book that sold 1000 copies within 3 months in 2017 can not sell 30 copies within its 6 months of publishing now, an indication of economic crisis which affects the cover price, even though many wishes to buy it but do not have the got to part away with the cost it carries.

Since our organization have to remain a going concern, we need to strategically decide to go for another fashion of booklets publications in which even the children can afford to buy without requesting money from their parents, and this decision was a huge success.

  55. As a project manager that was involved in a pig farm project, I understand that political diversity can be a very big issue in land acquisition processes especially when it’s meant for a personal business by a person with a different political belief. Technology has really helped human kind in most ways, it has helped in many ways like communication and making work on the site easy, more efficient and faster productivity, the major disadvantage of technology on the pig farm project was the inexperience of workers to use technology device effectively because most of the farm workers are not educated to understand the usage of advance technology materials. Social integration and interaction about pig farm produce has really made me to understand more about pig farm and also how to use the competition around as a source of motivation for my team.

  56. Global issues such as technology, social and political changes, competition affect projects in diverse ways.
Technology, have really improved ways things are being done by making it faster and reaching a wider range of audience. The applications and tools used helps with building up our project plans and easy tracking . The downside is the fact that not everyone is very comfortable using it.
Everything rises and falls on Leadership.Political changes significantly affect our projects. Here policies are made, the economy is determined, security is hinged on that, other infrastructure needed is dependency on that.Hence ,not considering the influence of politics on our projects is a recipe for failure.
Competition in itself is not a bad idea, but not being able to manage it can affect our work.Hence ,constant research, customer feedback, stakeholders engagement is required to be able to manage competition effectively.

  57. The interconnection of issues sharpens or mars a project.
As a trader and a project planner in my local church, I have had series of experiences as to how these events topples and influence projects.
we will take them one at a time:

Technology: No doubt technology is infact a rel time blessing to those whose businesses are online based or has to use the online space. As a trader, I use tech to reach out to a lot of interested clients, and educate others on my product.

Competition is either healthy or not depending on who’s involved. to me, competition helps me to strive to be a better person, improve in my strategies and discover new ways to do things.

Social and political change. This I think play a larger than life role in determining the success of whatever one is doing. If not properly checked, could mar any project.
currently, I’m handling a project that has to do with organizing a ssocioeducational event with theme on Religion, synodality and civic responsibility for a better Nigeria” while I went through the rules of engagement and the theme,it dawned on me that everything rise and rest on government policies.

Ultimately, by being mindful of these factors, you can navigate challenges and achieve your project goals.

  59. My experience as a teacher in a college shows that In few years time so many people will be out of job, this is so because when my institution embraced digital learning in the college so many teachers couldn’t cope because they don’t belong to this generation. Many of them had to depend on the students to help them do the connection even after the college had organised seminar on the use of these gadgets earlier.

This may involve proactive strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and ongoing monitoring and adaptation to changing external factors.

  71. Technology has facilitated research and development efforts, making projects easy to carry out.Environmental issues such as climate change and pollution pose risks to carrying out projects effectively and efficiently.

  72. Technology as made things so easily including life itself, technology helped with making online classes possible to taking studies in places you’d never dram of going to and meeting people online
It helps with online sales which has proved very effective coz it brings people closer to us and reaching a large customer base

  73. Technology have been of great help to me especially in the class room where the notes and the lesson plans are handy in the system. also the use of audio visuals in bringing to issues closer to the learners are also great feats which cannot be over emphasized

  74. The impact of technology has really help my field of work. Using laptop, computers, projectors foe teaching and also online classes. And competitions too, different school are trying to introduce new things for the betterment of the school so making my school to look for ways to be outstanding.

  75. The covid-19 pandemic and the never ending social and political unrests going on in the world, although devastating, has brought about heavy reliance on technology. Things that were thought impossible to accomplish are now being done with the advent of technology.

It has made it so much easier and also enhance competition amongst projects managers.

  76. The impact of technology on my organization has been very positive over time. At a point, there were challenges in the aspect of engaging the services of technologically inclined people as only a handful of the employees then could handle some of the ICT gadgets needed for the project at inception. The organization had to engage in a series of trainings to upgrade both the old team members and the newly engaged ones.

The organization was faced with serious competition from the existing company which also carries out similar tasks as ours.

Socio-political change has been a major setback as this period is characterized by unrest, communal crisis, and insecurity.

The points stated above contributed to loss of man hour which posed a major threat to the time target for the project.

  77. Technology, competition have a major impact in my organization especially the kind of changes it brought alongside but the ability to streamline these changes in our operation and standards makes us better.

  78. Technology updates everyday and can bring about change{ change they say constant so must try and adapt to the changes that might come our way during the project . so its important for project manager to be able to adapt to any change .
Political climate can change at any time because any new governace comes in with their own rules there by creating a change in the sector

  79. Change can be stressful for employees, and it’s important for project managers to consider the impact of change on employee morale and engagement.
And with technology Projects can be done with ease

  80. New technology, has in no small measure, brought about a huge change in the way tasks get accomplished, all this stem from competitiveness of various companies that drive the technological change. the advantage of this competition, is that it gives room for one to make a choice of what best fits, or apply to the individual or organization, and also to work within one’s affordable budget. in no small way has technology also helped in shaping the way time is managed, as it helps in reducing the amount of time wasted on a task.
one of the disadvantages of the new technology, is that not everyone has access to it, and incorporating it to workers or team members job schedules, could be a daunting task.
political climates, are very uncertain terrains, which changes at will without notice, this is a very common occurrence in developing nations and also a huge determining factor for any project. Key issues like these, really affect the scope of work and deliverables.

  81. The emergence of technology has undoubtedly increased the output of our everyday work in some areas, Narrowing it down to project management, we couldn’t have gotten a job done fast enough without the advent of those sophisticated equipment.

Also getting the hands of the stakeholders on deck, especially those fully involved in the project is very pertinent and given them the avenue to be familiar with the technological trends that will improve the the overall output is very necessary.

  82. The effects of technology, environmental emergencies, social and political disturbances, world-wide trade and competition cannot be overemphasized in today’s world.
    1. With technology in all sectors, projects can now be done with ease but, it has also created disadvantages in every sector e.g. students now focus more on the media with the availability of smart phones rather than making efforts to study, workers in organizations are being laid off with the availability of machines etc.
    2. Projects now require high budget to be carried out due to poor government policies leading to inflation, This has made several projects to be done with less quality thereby, jeopardizing the reputation of firms.
    3. Climate and irregular weather changes has contributed to strict government policies. These are now affecting projects and project managers in their decision making. Also, stiff competition from opposing firms is one of the factors affecting critical decisions such as project negotiation, implementation and profit of most firms.
However, project managers now need to be on their toes and plan properly with the project team so as to make use of technology in a way that will suit their firms. Also, effective communication and contingency plans need to be devised to combat possible threats posed by environmental, government, and social changes.

  83. Well in this world we should know that change is occurring things
Which are technology, politics and more
So as a project manager we should always be ready for change and be ready to adept to any situation to ensure the success of the project

  84. New technology has created opportunities for people, companies, and industries and improved product and service quality.
    Political change affects jobs,
where there is a change of administration, jobs and contracts are awarded to another set of people or workers.
Change is constant, so project managers should be able to adapt to all types of challenges and be able to deliver products to satisfy his/her clients

  85. New technology have created opportunities for people, companies and industries and also improved quality of products and services.
    Political change affects jobs,
where there is change of administration, jobs and contracts are awarded to another set of people or workers.
Change is constant, so project managers should be able to adapt to all type of challenges and be able to deliver products to satisfy his/her clients

  86. Political change affected a job we were to commence just weeks before the change of administration in 2023. The job was put on a halt and eventually it was rewarded to another contractor.
In another scenario we had quoted for a Job and it wasn’t awarded till the following year, and like the new popular saying in Nigeria, ‘today’s price, isn’t the same as tomorrow’s’. Prices of materials had gone up over 60% and we had to have a contract review which didn’t go down so well with our clients .

  87. The rapid change that is happening in the technology industry has done nothing but affect my organization positively as it has opened so much more doors and created room for more opportunties . Thanks to these changes, I am able to learn more and advance exponentially in my skills .

  88. Advancements in technology have created opportunities for my industry (energy) to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality of products or services. Embracing new technologies has led to improved efficiency and better results.
Increased environmental/safety regulations and sustainability standards has made my industry to adapt their operations to minimize environmental impact and to work in a safer environment.
Shifting social trends and increased awareness has led to increased engagement with host communities for a sustainable relationship that is mutually beneficial.

  89. Daily, life throws complications at us and all we can do is manipulate them to our favour. Like they say, change is the only thing constant.

As a journalist, major global issues like technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental problems stare me in the face in the course of my duties; but thanks to our policy of knowing a bit of everything, we get by.

    1. Technology is in perpetual advancement and only the smart can catch up. Changes occur in gadgets, tools, systems, apps and softwares, and paraphernalia that can help deliver daily tasks. The latest is Artificial Intelligence (AI).

    2. These technological advancements breed competition. Colleagues will devise new ways of getting their jobs done faster and more efficiently. Once you get left behind, it’s hard to catch up.

    3. Social and political changes involves government policies that may hamper or improve work flow. These policies may either blossom or kill economies and businesses. Example, the Twitter ban in Nigeria in June 2021 hampered work flow, because the bird app remains a major source of information and story leads in the jet age. How we survived..? We installed VPNs on our devices.

    4. Environmental problems like climate change, unsustainable lifestyles, food shortages, etc also contribute to complexities at work.

Project Managers must develop resilient skills to navigate these challenges and deliver on projects to the satisfaction of their clients and stakeholders. Adaptability is the key word.

  90. Technology
it has positively affected my project management and our firm as it was a key factor for driving success during global crises like the COVID lockdown.

    Competition
The market is always and ever competitive but we see this as an opportunity to innovate and do something better than everyone else, we do not see competition in a negative light.

Social and political change is something we anticipate and plan for in every project, we consider how it can affect the project, the risks, and the opportunities. This way we do not get taken unawares and affect project delivery.

  91. The positive effects of technology on society are extending the life span of people, increased productivity through the inventions of machines which makes work easier. Also competition has impacted my organisation by helping us to stay grounded when it comes to the services we render

  92. We need to understand the world around us because, change is a constant phenomenon. Change affect the project itself and the people involved in it. It is important to take considerable look into these changes and adapt where necessary.

    1. There’s always a saying THAT *CHANGE IS CONSTANT AND INEVITABLE* ever since the invention of technology the world has benefited so much with this invention it helps the world and people in it perform tasks at a faster pace and it make information go viral.

  93. There’s a saying that change is constant and inevitable. No matter the circumstances, change will always bound to occur. That is why a good Project manager should also be a forecaster. In a world where there would always be some external factors which global change is among them, it is ideal to be anticipate what could go wrong during a project and sometimes some changes are unpredictable but project manager should be able to quick resolve and difficult external changes that would bring effect on a project. So, the reaction towards the changes would determine whether the effect of changes would be positive or negative at the completion of the project.

  94. Global issues like technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental problems.

Technology has advance so much that aside from the knowledge gap, there is a need to transcend with the movement so one would not be left out as a PM. It is either you follow the trend or you go obsolete in the traditional method.

Political change is also a major factor to consider in terms of new policies being made. Policies affect the way things are done, if we don’t pay attention to policies, we might fail or waste resources and time.

There is serious market/global competition, unlike years back. We have tools now the make thing more competitive, unlike before people are open to AI tools, application online that give them information on what to do.

There are environmental problems that affect global way of doing things. A good understanding of the project environment is important for effective project.

  95. The world as we know it is battling with so much complexity ranging from global warming, to food shortages, drought, war ,political upheavals, insurgency, terrorism and the likes and all these affect organizations worldwide especially if an organization is caught between the crossfire of where these issues occur. As a project manager one has to adapt to these and make changes where necessary.

  96. Understanding the world around us is key as it keeps changing and this changes affect the project itself and the people involved in it. It is important to take considerable look into these changes and adapt where necessary.

  97. There is a wave of change happening in the world at large in the technology world and if you don’t catch up you will be left behind. Every organisation who is willing to thrive should be looking at how to incorporate technology into their daily activities for sooth running.

As political changes occur, there is an outburst of new policies and sometimes new economic reforms which might either make the economy better for business and project to thrive or better still disrupt their chances of good success. All these issues affects all organisations and they are complexities that we have to navigate really well to success in any given project.

  98. Social and political changes have a great impact on the economy of a country which may bring about inflation of prices of commodities and raw materials there by affecting productivity of firms and organizations.
I work in an agricultural sector and the current inflation we are facing presently, is the reason some farms and agribusinesses are folding up or out of business.

  99. No condition or situation is permanent. As such change is a very important element in life in general and should be considered and integrated in every steps of the like cycle. Hence the necessity of being flexible, nurturing the ability to adjust, adapt, accommodate, compromise at times. Radicalism can’t be a good way of seeing things for a project manager.

  100. Change is inevitable, change happens to everybody and everything on earth. So an organization should adapt to progress or evolution. COVID changed the working ethics of most organizations across the world from working on-site to working remotely and the world adjusted to it. Technology makes working remotely stress-free and easier.

  101. Technology has made it difficult to want to stay traditional as there are lot of new ways to get things done, things are advancing and changing rapidly and the end users of every product are on a fast pace to catch up with the trend.

so as an organisation you can not stay rigid in such a world, if not you will be left behind. its okay to stay original but you have to keep innovating so as to stay relevant.

  102. Technology
In my field as a Virtual Assistant, the typical tasks being performed include scheduling appointments, making phone calls, making travel arrangements, managing email accounts, and completing tasks that might require using some software and tools. Technology has helped us become more innovative, we look for tools or apps that can help us collaborate and deliver work or projects more efficiently.

    competition
When it comes to competition, these days we have different types of artificial intelligence (AI) tools that can understand and respond to client problems as well, this is a big issue for my organization and that is why we stick to continuous learning and improving our skills to remain relevant and needed in the industry.

Social and political changes, environmental problems
These factors affect different organizations in different ways. As a project manager, it is important to understand the environment before even starting a project. Knowing government policies, political structure, and environmental conditions is essential to a successful project. Getting this information and communicating it to the right people could help cub whatever challenges that might arise.

  103. In my organization, the rapid pace of technological advancement affects our projects by constantly evolving the tools and platforms we use, requiring us to adapt and stay updated to remain competitive. Globalization influences our projects by introducing diverse perspectives, markets, and potential collaborators, but also increasing competition and regulatory complexity. Social and political upheaval can disrupt supply chains, market dynamics, and stakeholder relationships, impacting project timelines and resource allocation. Lastly, the environmental crisis prompts us to consider sustainability and environmental impact in our projects, influencing decisions on resource usage, product design, and waste management. Overall, these global issues shape the context in which we operate, impacting project selection, planning, and execution strategies.

  104. Technologies, competition, social and political changes.
Technology has to to a high extend improve the time project are delivered. Jobs that 10 people will take 3 days to get do e can be handled by an individual within hours.
Social and political crisis in the other hand affects projects due to change in government… And change in government policies.
Climate also can cause either delay or complete a complete change in approach of how a job should be delivered. An example is flood, destroying or causing delay.

  105. Technological advancement in the globe is dynamic. With the rate of advancement in technology, the way projects can be delivered is different.

Social and political changes can mar or positively affect the delivery of a project through economic reforms, policies and regulations.

Environmental Issues such as social unrest, war, pollution, flooding and natural disasters can affect the execution of a project.

  106. When talking about project management, there is the need to be able to adjust to trends and evolutions, and so a PM must be able to embrace technologies. These Technologies may have a positive effect wish may favor you, else, as a PM, you make strategies to make sure that it favors you.

Also, political crisis may affect too, in the sense that new laws and policies may have negative repercussions.

Environmental influences too, there may be a virtual meeting to make the project grow, but weather and climate may cause a low or poor connection in service thereby causing a lag in the progress

  107. Changes in political stability and legislation can in many ways may affect the design, process and implementation of a project.

New laws may favor or derail a project, social instability may render projects unimplementable.
Natural disasters such as floods, fires and harsh climate patterns may affect communication, productivity or even lead to distruction of key facilities used in a project.

The list is long, includes a very recent coroner pandemic that altered how business is conducted in many ways.

  108. When talking about technology, every PM or organization must embrace technology, in fact you can imagine a work to be done manually in three weeks with 30 man force, with help of technology it can be achieved in few days…

Social and politcal crisis: this can affect a Project or organization by government introducing new policy which may not be favorable to the organization but they must abide by the law or policy which government have enforced…

Environmental crisis: this can be in form of
    climate change,depleting natural resources etc
which can as well lead to loss of employees, loss of resources, loss of product, profit

  109. When talking about the global issues, they are like the macro environment that affects every organization..

Talking about technology,Change in technology affects how organizations will do business and how project will be done.Technology influences the method use to make research in a project and develop new products for an organization. When a PM or an organization focus on an old or low technology,it can make work not to get faster .

Social and politcal crisis: this can affect the organization or project in such a way that governments can decide to release a policy which the organization and project manager has no power over. In this case, any project that has started or yet to start must pend and this can even affect the successful of the project or organization.

Environmental crisis: this can be in form of
Pollution, climate change, depleting natural resources etc which can as well lead to loss of employees, loss of resources, loss of product, profit etc. which can affect a project in an organization.

  110. In my case, technology has impacted positively in handling projects. The invention of new industrial machines with all calibers of innovative designs is a great relief in the fashion and design industry.
Negatively, social and political disturbances has caused more harm than good. Clients now distinguish who to contract base on social and political differences which include religious belief especially in a region like Nigeria.
There are also complex issues like environmental crisis. To everyone, safety of life and property is the greatest priority.
These can be tackled base on the quality of service you render, customer/client relationship and meeting required deadline.

  111. Many companies do face big global issues such as technology, competition, social, and political changes which determines whether a company will succeed in the marketplace and gain market share for them to exist. All these changes will affect each company differently, whether a positive impact or a negative one. A company who is able coup and knows how to deal with all these issues, will succeed in the market place. Rapid technological changes may require constant adaptation. Cybersecurity threats and the need for up-to-date skillsets can pose challenges to your organization. Increased competition may require constant efforts to differentiate your organization or projects. Market saturation and price wars could affect profitability. Social and political instability can lead to uncertainties and disruptions. Changes in regulations may require adjustments to your projects or business model.

  112. Organizations are ideated on concepts and values that drive their existence, and this existence is not immune to the complexities whether social, economic, or technological inherent in the system. It is these complexities that would make or break a project. The Project Manager must play the moderator through a combination of technological and soft skillset to ensure the survival of any project, and its offerings of the expected deliverables within the allocated budget and timeline.

  113. Navigating these global issues such as technology, competition, social and political changes requires strategic foresight, adaptability, and proactive management. By staying informed, embracing innovation, and integrating sustainability into your organization and projects, you can mitigate risks, capitalize on opportunities, and drive long-term success in a rapidly changing world.

  114. Undoubtedly, nothing is static in this world. More especially in a world of today which is driven by technology, the pace at which changes happen is beyond imagination. Also, the current trend in global political crisis and unrest has caused serious problems for businesses operating both locally and globally.
Again, we cannot speak without mentioning the human factors creating environmental havoc in our present world. All of these factors have brought disruptions to businesses.

I could remember vividly when a government policy disrupted a project i was executing for a client in 2014. This policy affected the schedule and budget of the project so much that the sponsor almost gave up on it.

As a PM, it is important to understand operating environment largely before even starting a project. Information is key! Get every bit of information that you could as it relates to government policies, community relations, political structure, environmental condition, etc.
A PM should bear in mind that obstacles would arise in the course of the project and create adequate risk factors.

Pro-activness, collaboration and effective communication are other ways a PM could help to minimize disruptions in this current complex world.

    Regards.

  115. As a civil engineer, global issues like technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis can significantly impact my organization and projects in several ways:
    1. Technology: Advancements in technology can introduce new tools and methodologies that can improve efficiency and accuracy in your projects. For example, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can enhance design and planning processes. However, it also requires continuous learning and adaptation.
    2. Competition: Globalization can lead to increased competition, both from local and international firms. This could affect bidding on projects, requiring your organization to demonstrate superior value or specialization.
    3. Social and Political Change: Changes in social attitudes or political policies can influence the requirements and constraints of your projects. For example, new regulations related to safety standards might necessitate changes in your project plans.
    4. Environmental Crisis: The growing focus on sustainability and the impact of climate change can affect the kind of projects you undertake and how you execute them. There might be increased demand for green buildings, or projects might need to account for changing environmental conditions like increased flood risk.

  116. Businesses and organisations operate in a dynamic and sometimes turbulent environment Factors that are usually prevalent are:.technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis. What is paramount to managers given the above inevitable changes in the social and economic environment is information. Information is key to managing changes and concurred with the statement credited to the former Israeli Prime Minister which stated undoubtedly that the man with the most information tends to be more successful. Today, keywords such as Just-in-time(JIT), Quick Response (QR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are playing a key role in helping managers manage changes and execute projects even in a highly turbulent and complex environment Technology brings about changes that help increase the level of competitiveness while easy access and quick response to vital information, research and analytical skills helps managers to be on top of complex changes in the socio-political environment. COVID-19 was a global health challenge that shocked the whole world and put businesses and governments into crisis. In my school, we took advantage of technology, collaboration, teamwork and effective communication to blaze the tide.

  117. Technology and competition can affect the quality, social and political could impact on the scope and budget, while environmental crisis could all aforementioned components including the timing
Therefore, all these must be considered during the risk and impact assessment of any project at any given time and possible solutions must be proffered ahead of the exercise

  118. Technology and competition play a vital role in every day organization, in construction that i’m in technology help with competition, in which big construction companies get more project than they small ones because they have the equipments and technology to carry out sophisticated project and complete it on time.
While political changes too play a major role as a change in government as we already have in Nigeria is affecting the price of cement and iron which is affecting projects all over the country.

  119. new technology, worldwide trade and competition, social and political disturbances, and the environmental emergency.

new technology which change every day affect the implementation of the project since the team need to cope with the new technology employed, this requires time, money and delay of the implementation of the project hence high cost of project implementation.

worldwide trade and competition. globalization brings pressure and competition onto the projects wherever it is being carried out since it is very easy to access different information and products that are similar to the one provided in a certain project. this might result in pressure, failure and termination of the project. this requires a PM to always observe and updated such that he/she has all information of what is happening all over the world.

social and political disturbance. this factor can hinder the implementation of the project as long as political and social situation changes like when there is a problem of insecurity or political conflicts between different parts.

however all mentioned factors can either affect positively or negatively.

  120. The nature of the competition faced in an organisation or its services, and financial resources available within the economy affects the organisation or its projects.
Also, new approaches to doing new and old things, and tackling new and old problems; these do not necessarily involve technical equipment – they can be novel ways of thinking or of organising.

  121. Globalisation and technology impacts every field differently and cannot be over emphasized how technology has made project delivery seamless just from the comfort of your office, government policies however could impact positively or negatively depending on the the constraints it might pose to ones project delivery in terms of financial capacity.

  122. During the COVID LOCKDOWN which restricted international flights to all countries, so many projects were stalled while others utilize available service providers within the country to complete their projects and start production of the goods.
This was a big milestone for service providers that completed projects that were halfway done and new projects from scratch saving money (FX) for the factory owners.

  123. Certainly, the Organization I proudly belong to, the Nigerian Air Force would be impacted by these global issues.

Technological advancements may affect aircraft capabilities and maintenance requirements.

Increased global competition could influence defense strategies and partnerships.

Social and political changes may shape mission objectives and international relations.

Environmental problems could impact operational conditions and resource planning.

It is crucial for the Nigerian Air Force to adapt and collaborate to navigate these challenges effectively.

  124. Competition can affect project positively and negatively. Competition often motivates project managers to become more focus and committed to achieve set goals. Competition can sometimes drive project managers to compromise on ethical standards.

  125. Technology affected project, cos most people bow use modern technology at their place of work to manage and organize their projects
Without necessarily needs of projects manager

  126. Technology especially affects projects because of the ever changing changes always brought in board. Government policies and environmental crisis also plays a big role to affect project operations and management.

  127. The impact of various governmental, environmental, social, political and global changes can greatly affect how organizations and the projects of a project manager. The advent of new technology, political disturbances can directly or indirectly force organizations to change the type, location and framework of projects they would embark upon, as factors such as AI, climate change could impact the projects of a project manager.

  128. Governmental policies and climate change can also affect the inflow of currencies .Diplomatic relationship between the ruling government is a relative contributor to this issues. Competitors leverage on this factors thereby leading to limited growth and virtually any organizational project can be affected by this factors.

  129. I work as a project manager in a farming concern and we deal with small holder farmers, aggregators, large input supply companies and even the government as major stakeholders in our project. Our project is heavily affected by these critical stakeholders and other global affairs as the world changes rapidly all around us.

  130. For them to be categorized as global issues, there is no way that more than one or even all can affect the objective of a project.

  131. As a project manager in Nigeria, political changes stand head and shoulders above the others mentioned when it comes to impact in project management. government policies regarding FOREX makes it extremely difficult from a cost point of view as you transition form forecasting for project justification and approval to actual execution. I find that its a struggle to stay within budget because of the volatility of the currency.

  132. Technology has come a long way to affect proper delivery of a project in terms of local level, since after the Covid. It is difficult to convince them of the use of electronic devices for transactions. Also with the rapid increase in cost of materials, getting to convince a customer of the change in price is the most challenging part.

  133. I work as a farm manager where we produce catfish in a Large commercial quantity. And the most complex and difficult aspect , is dealing with price hikes in cost of feed materials which invariably comes back to the off takers and consumers . The most challenging aspect is getting the customers to accept the changes in price especially with the high level of competition in the industry.

  134. I work in glass fabrication and installation and the method of project delivery is waterfall. There really is no way of iterating the process as each step is dependent on the completion of another step. we have to survey, then submit sizes for approval before we can commence production and then finally installation. technology is big in this process, however the process still remains waterfall.

  135. Technological advancement and competition were a complex challenge for me when I delved into a project in Agriculture. Having to deal with rural and local farmers who have little to no education, it was difficult to come up with a tech system that suits their level of education and is comprehensible for their usage. It was even more difficult when I had to contend with experienced competitors who had spent years in the agro-business. So we realized with my team that, devising a USSD and getting the educated youths to explain the functionality to the farmers in their local languages was the best way out for us.

  136. Technological advancement Can affect the Projects An Organization embarks on for example it can enhance the smooth delivery of Projects and their effectiveness.Competition Social and political changes as well as environmental problems all play a role in Determining the successful completion of Any project.

    1. Technological development and advancement have created changes in methods of operation, especially in companies and industries.
Adaptation to these changes have aided the evolution of companies to match the present need of their clients.

  137. Technology advancement has a great effect on any organisation, which helps to promote fast and easiest way of achieving any organisational products. The crisis on this aspect is that the more available machines you can avoid the more the organisational growth. With inclusion of competitors out there brings more additional limitations to the growth of the firm. Governmental policies and the climate change can also affect the inflow of currencies and lot more. For examples at my area, some of the forest had been sold to the some Chinese private organisational, why because they have some technological advancement tools which was why they were able to won the contract against the peoples of the locality who had been using the forest as a means of survival. Diplomatic relationship between the talked Government in power, can also be related to the issue. So all this crisis cannot be overlooked

  138. Technology advancement in our world today has huge effect on the way we do things. It calls for training and retraining for a project manager to remain afloat with trends.
Competition can affect project execution from costing to quality.
Political and environmental changes can as well affect projects. For example, areas of political unrest will have a toll on a project on the part of the project members and sponsors.
Areas prone to environmental hazards may also pose a treat to a project due to safety of project, team, sponsors and the project itself.

  139. The emergence of COVID19 made most offices structured with on-site work structure review, imbibing either hybrid or remote work mode and hence further allowed for people with desired skill set to work for organizations that are far off in other countries and or continents.

  140. I can identify with technological advancement as a student. The COVID period made most schools integrate the use of online meetings to progress with learning which was not an easy transition.

  141. Innovations in technology coupled with the COVID-19 breakout have changed how the world works. It has given rise to Edtech and changed the corporate outlook of work. A digital project team can literally work remotely without the members knowing themselves. It has also increased work efficiency and reduced some physical costs.
Technological innovations are also making waves in the environment. There is a rise in the awareness for Green tech. Any project you take on must be viewed with environmental lenses. It’s contributions to environmental sustainability cannot be compromised.
This has affected the kind of projects that organizations take on. For my organization, we take on mostly digital products and hence our work is remote.

  142. THINKING ABOUT COMPLEXITY.

One can always identify technological advancement as a Project manager and Apply the skills appropriately.

We had some challenges in the organisation recently with some colleagues’ limited knowledge of the use of a computer.

After much struggles with transitioning from crude paper work to automated documentation and IT efficiency. With effective communication, The Team were able to learn together in brainstorming and was able to advance the cause of the project.

    Thank you for your time

  143. To fit in to changes in the world of technology, you must be flexible, open to information. Unlearn and relearn this helps to handle complex changes.

  144. We are in a VUCA world where technology has evolved and reshaping every activities in a well productive way with different project management tools, we are only going to be competitively ready, if we embrace the change i.e. social, political and environmental by following new trends and encourage best practices, Organization now needs to build and embrace a forward thinking company culture to stay competitive

  145. As a Project Manager responsive and adaptive change to technology, the environment, society, and Political situations is critical as they will shape how and how your project will be executed.

  146. Technological, environmental, societal and political changes are the major external factors that can make or mar any organization. however, it is imperative for project managers to change and possibly adapt with global trends If they are to be successful

  147. As a project manager, global issues like technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental problems deeply influence our organization and projects. Technological advancements shape project approaches, intense competition affects resource availability, social and political shifts impact stakeholder dynamics, and environmental concerns influence sustainability considerations. Navigating these influences is crucial for successful project outcomes.

  148. Managing projects in a complicated, ever changing
    world is very critical.
Technology is improving and changing everyday. It is paramount that one learn and improve on a daily basis in that line.
Competitors are always around meaning one must be on ones toe. Always moving ahead or else ones organization will be pushed aside.
Global trade in the face of foreign exchange when Naira is unstable is a major crisis for project managers. Bearing in mind that Budget must be met.
International trade laws. Some of these are unfavorable for the progress and profit making of organizations.
Government Policies are affecting project managements. Some policies are made that opposes the progress and profit making of the organization.
In the last administration of the head of the CBN, some decisions were made that really had a negative impact on the organization I work in. It really cut back huge amount of money which would have been accrued to the company as part of her profit.
It is a complex world that as a Project Manager one must respond to in a very effective and efficient way to make a good and profitable headway.

  149. For my organization, competition, social and political changes are the major drivers of change. In that, the dynamics of communicating with customers/consumers evolve based on the social or political issues being addressed at that point in time, as well as how the competition is reacting to these changes.

  150. Complexity can be managed when team collaborate effectively.effevtive communication and not assuming will clearly help define some uncertainty .

  151. There are innovations that border with technologies in my field and there’s the need to constantly improve so as to stay competitive. The competitors will not wait for you to level up, hence there’s the need to constantly push your boundaries. Our social and political sphere is volatile and there is the need to constantly make drastic but informed changes.

  152. I can identify with technology advancement as a manager. In my organisation, i was recently challenged with my colleagues’ limited knowledge of the use a computer. i struggled with transitioning from crude paper work to automated documentation and IT efficiency. With effective communication, we were able to learn together and advance

  153. As a PM with an IT background in software testing, and Learning to work independently Lottery company, i believe we can be on the center if you seek out other options to help us makes more sales and gain attraction in the market space, from User-friendly agent app, to commissions and Aggressive PR which i believe will increase sales.

  154. Competition: Requires strategic resource allocation and encourages global collaboration.
Technology: Advances enhance firefighting capabilities and data-driven decision-making.
Social/Political Change: Influences community engagement, diversity considerations, and policy adaptation.
Environmental Crisis: Alters disaster dynamics, prompting sustainable practices in safety projects.

  155. Change is constant in the world, to stay on top PMs have to change along with the complex and changing world. We need to be current on latest innovations and technologies in our field. Constantly searching for smarter ways to deliver the project with good speed and better quality.
Also we need to frequently review our potential customer’s need and their definition of quality as it changes with time, then prepare to beat their expectations. We can also leverage on our existing customer’s experience to know where we need to adjust and improve with the latest technologies.
    Apart from the project implementation, there are two sides of a project we also need to improve;
    1. The Business: This is the part of the project that focus more on the profit that comes to the organization from the project, and we must consider it and improve on it as we change with the changing world.
    2. The Politics: There is always a political side of the project. There are people who are not part of the project but they wants to take the credit. Most of them are powerful politicians that can stop the project, some of them demand visit in “kind” before the project is lunched or completed. We need to understand the political atmosphere, find out what has changed, and play along legally.

  156. Just as it was earlier said, changing ecosystem demands a change in our approach. If the nation is at way, our projects will definitely stop or we strategically adopt a project to support the war in building weapons of destruction, etc. Our environment determines our decisions and steps to be taken.

  157. Collaboration, adaptability, and a forward-thinking approach are essential for Fire Services to meet the challenges posed by these global issues.

Big global issues, including technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis, have significant implications for the Fire Service and relevant safety projects in the following areas:

    1. Technology: Advances enhance firefighting capabilities and data-driven decision-making.
    2. Competition: Requires strategic resource allocation and encourages global collaboration.
    3. Social/Political Change: Influences community engagement, diversity considerations, and policy adaptation.
    4. Environmental Crisis: Alters disaster dynamics, prompting sustainable practices in safety projects.
Adaptability and collaboration are crucial for Fire Services in navigating these challenges.

  158. Thinking About Complexity, as a facility manager, the rapid and unpredictable changes driven by these global issues, new technology, globalisation of trade and competition, social and political upheaval, and environmental crisis, significantly affect my organisation and projects in several ways:

    1. Technology: Advancements in technology impact facility management through automation, smart building solutions, and the need for digital infrastructure, requiring adaptation and investment to remain competitive.

    2. Globalization and Trade: Increased global trade and competition may impact procurement processes, supply chain management, and regulations, requiring a broader understanding of international standards and practices.

    3. Social and Political Upheaval: Social and political changes can influence workplace dynamics, employee safety, and regulatory compliance, necessitating flexibility in managing diverse workforce needs and ensuring security measures.

    4. Environmental Crisis: Environmental concerns impact facility management by driving sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency standards, and the adoption of eco-friendly practices, influencing building design and operations.

Adapting to these changes involves embracing innovation, staying informed of evolving regulations, fostering resilience in infrastructure, and integrating sustainability practices into facility management strategies.

  159. Personally, these global issues like Technology, Competition, Social, and Political changes, Environmental problem, and other underlying issues impact my organisation, and Projects to be specific.

I was privileged to start writing as early as 7 years old, and I knew how to captivate anyone’s mind by painting pictures with my pen, but as I grew, my narrative about writing was shaped, most especially when I got involved with Projects that had deadlines.

I discovered being talented wasn’t enough to secure sales, because the world buy from people with persuasive words, and not people who spoke like English Scholars.

I decided to rely on Technology -Ai to help me in this but it only got worse with my Projects.

I was reprimanded despite being so verse with stuffs related to writing.

I had to take up a Copywriting course, and also followed up with testing my skills.

At first, I felt pressured and manipulated into thinking my writing was crap as hell, until I discovered that I needed more work to do on my skills.

My Competitors weren’t waiting for me, and so I had to keep developing myself.

I got a sense of relief when I made my first sale from just manipulating words to fit into my audience mind, until it got tougher with people who don’t fall for sweet-words.

I had to go deep into research to outsmart my competitors.

And when the projects became impossible to sleep, I discovered my competitors were strategically using AI without getting noticed or punished by the algorithm of Google and the likes, making them faster, and more efficient.

That helped me in delving deeper into related courses on how to manipulate prompts into Ai and tweak the results for an effective sales copy that carry every emotion and feel

I must say the experience is quite overwhelming but adventurous

Considering the discussion concerning the impact of the values and norms on the Ethical and Environmental Considerations of running Projects for MTD Company, I saw through Customers satisfaction, from the more revenues Generated by MTD

  160. The world is changing in different aspect and most important in the area of technology which has impact on my working area and since we pioneer agile working we had to use computer more compared to seeing client f2f because updating record became most paramount. Politics has brought more issue that is affecting both the economy and the wok we do which makes it vital for a project manager to understand all aspect to help a project manager deliver successful outcome of a project.

  161. Technology advancement in our world today has huge effect on the way we do things. It calls for training and retraining for a project manager to remain afloat with trends.
Competition can affect project execution from costing to quality.
Political and environmental changes can as well affect projects. For instance, areas of political unrest will have a toll on a project on the part of the project members and sponsors.
Areas prone to environmental hazards may also pose a treat to a project due to safety of project, team and the project itself.

  162. Everyday technology keeps evolving. There is constant change in the way things are done. Competition bring the birthing of creativity as you have to constantly keep thinking about new ways of doing things to remain competitive and be above your peers in the same industry you find yourself and of course we cannot leave political, social and environmental changes because these core factors that we look at during project implementation or business setup. As a Project Manager. I would critically look at all these factors when considering a project to mitigate against failures and wasted efforts.

  163. Dynamism in the World today in terms of field professionalism through technology driven concepts has called on all and sundry, inclusive Environmental Health and Safety Career where I’m part of, to constantly be as of these fundamental changes to remain relevant. This can be achieved through modelling out health impacts through the deployment of M&E tools which today is driven by technology. This is where the thoughts of complexity in project management and delivery is important.

  164. Currently the economic inflation has really impacted my company in an adverse way, given problems surround on how to manage the people fairly enough to keep the said project going.
Technology as well has really evolved in recent times with political and economical changes are factors that can not be avoided.
A project managers needs to understand this changes and grow with it to be able to manage your project properly.

  165. Technology impacts greatly in the world today. In my field as a Certification Manager, we had to learn to adapt to other forms of Audit/Trainings which includes Virtual and even hybrid forms.
Recently new Technology breakthroughs like the use of AI technologies have emerged. As a PM, you have to learn to adapt to the ever changing Technology and its likes.
Climate Change, Political , social, economic changes are all inevitable and a PM needs to be flexible and adaptable.
As a good PM, you must able to adapt to changes . Be prepared for any thing that may happen . Be able to proffer solutions to any changes if and when they occur.

  166. With the ever changing and complexity nature of our society and the world at large in terms of technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis, project manager are forced to be on their toes in order to remain relevant to their organization.

The above issues especially the new technologies pose a serious threat to project manager in marketing industries. As a public relations officer, in order to project my organization as the best to its clients and stakeholders as well as to stand against other competitors, I equip myself with a lot of current information using most of the new technologies and thorough research.

  167. The world is fast evolving and with it drastic changes that are in most cases detrimental to the society . With this in view , it is safe to have an adaptability approach to work knowing that interruptions are inevitable .. This borders on cost of achieving projects to every other technicality involved..Project Managers must allow their minds to evolve as well and quick to improvise .. Covid caused a lot of such interruptions that the alacrity we had to go digital and remote from analogue and physical dug deep holes in the pockets and affected a lot …Complexities are inevitable and must be considered while quick responses must be adopted

  168. The world is changing extremely fast with slot of issues to solve at the same time. As being part the British Council’s team,we faced a lot of difficulties in terms of administrating exams and teach English in countries where war and famine are all around.
Technologically,we had to réorganise the entire team of the British Council in Cameroon to face the demand of helping test taker to continue with their lessons at home and to teach them what to do with the coming of the covid19.
Also, cameroon as a bilingual country with more than 70% of French speakers,we have to look for a way to keep on encouraging them to take their English courses more seriously both learners and teachers and to teach and Express theirselves properly in and out of the school. Others countries around the world with a British Council branch faced the same issues. They will only take test just for traveling sake without a proper knowledge of the language.

  169. With the ever changing nature of our world in terms of technology, economy and political scope, it is vital for a project manager to understand all these fundamental shifts. A project manager must be able to adapt to face these complexities.

  170. It is necessary to understand the impact of technology, competition, political issues and all. Technology on its own has a great impact in the global world today because most organizations has find there ways adapting to solving issues using the technology approach, in my field as a hospitality manager technology has bring a great impact in the hospitality business today because those days people have to go physical before they can book for rooms or event centers but today because of technology that can be done from the comfort of your rooms. Also politics because of there changes in policies it will always have effect on the general public like we are experiencing now where the purchasing power of individuals has fallen that they can’t afford to do most of the things they do before.

  171. The Content, media and customer success industry is evolving rapidly due to advancements in technology, which are affecting competition. Having a strong online presence is crucial for getting customers from around the world, and businesses must adapt to these new changes or improvements in technology to stay ahead of the competition. By investing in digital marketing, businesses can provide customers with the services they are looking for.

  172. It is important to evaluate and understand the impact of technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental issues from a wider perspective to successfully run projects in a rapidly changing world. These factors can have negative consequences on various projects if they are not given proper consideration. As someone working in the Content, media and customer success industry, it is clear that the industry is evolving due to advancements in technology, which are affecting competition. Nowadays, having a strong online presence is crucial for getting customers from around the world who need content of all kinds or to assisting customers scattered across the globe in reaching their goals by bringing solutions to them without having to see them in person. Smart digital marketing is outshining traditional marketing methods, and businesses must adapt to these new changes or improvements in technology to stay ahead of the competition. By investing in digital marketing, businesses can provide tourists with the services they are looking for. Many people who are still using old marketing strategies are struggling to attract customers, and therefore everyone must adapt to the changing world to keep their businesses successful.

  173. Project management is subject to frequent change, which can have both positive and negative effects. Positively, it can improve objectives, foster creativity, and increase project responsiveness. But it can also result in greater risk, communication difficulties, and scope creep. Effective change management is essential to navigating this; it entails transparent procedures, honest communication, flexible planning, and ongoing oversight. Recall to welcome change, handle it skillfully, and watch as your endeavor turns into a masterpiece.

  174. Changes in technology, society, politics, and the environment have greatly affected our clinic and the marketing projects. For example, new tech may require updates, societal shifts can change what people like, political changes might impact our strategies, and environmental concerns may influence how we run the clinic and market our services. It’s important to keep an eye on these changes to make sure our clinic and marketing stay effective and in tune with what’s happening around us.

  175. Thanks for the questions. I would say that in a global village that is constantly undergoing mutations and transformations. I as a PM must accept to learn, grow and develop. I must also act strategically and on time. I need to remain focused and make adjustments on time.

  176. Technology has improved our productivities unless we want to deny such fact.

More of it should be embraced to save time and reduces human stress

  177. Technology has been a great positive influence on the development and advancement of human life. competition makes room for improvements and drives away the monotony of services, social and political changes on the other has a very huge negative influence on the execution of projects as a Project Manager, you need to keep up with the advancement of these things.

  178. Technological, social and political changes have major impact on how projects are executed. there is a need for the Engineers to constantly update their knowledge on the use of technology to effectively execute and monitor projects.

  179. Technological, environmental, societal and political changes keep unfolding thereby bringing in both healthy and unhealthy competition and the need to grow and adapt to each current trend.

  180. The only thing that remain constant is “change”. Changes that affect organisation includes Environmental, Technological, Political, and social changes. These affect Industries and the global world positively, it is expected we appreciate and grow thereby adapting to these relevant changes in as much as our world is continually growing for good too.

  181. As an architectural designer, the role of technology cannot be overemphasized. It is necessary I get myself abreast with the new BIM softwares to be able to deliver design more effectively and efficiently.

  182. Economic factors are the conditions and trends of the economy that affect your project. For example, economic factors can include inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, unemployment, income, consumer spending, business cycles, growth, demand, supply, and competition. To identify economic factors, you need to analyze the macroeconomic and microeconomic indicators and forecasts in the markets or sectors where your project operates or depends on. You also need to evaluate the opportunities and threats that economic factors pose to your project.

  183. In my line of work, technology has been causing alot of positive disruptions in the industry and any professional who is not in tune with these changes might go into Oblivion anytime soon.

  184. When addressing significant global factors like technology, competition, social and political shifts, and environmental challenges, it’s crucial to evaluate their potential effects on my organization and projects.

Technology: Stay adaptable to technological advancements, incorporating new technologies into projects to seize opportunities and overcome challenges.

Competition: Regularly monitor competitors, comprehend their strategies, and identify unique value propositions that set your organization and projects apart.

Social and Political Change: Be attentive to shifting demographics, cultural changes, and policy reforms as they can influence consumer behavior and market dynamics.

Environmental Crisis: Incorporate environmental considerations, such as climate change and resource depletion, to enhance your organization’s reputation and meet the growing demand for sustainable practices.

To gauge the impact of these global issues on your organization and projects, conduct a comprehensive analysis of your industry, market trends, and stakeholders’ expectations.

  185. Global issues has really affected the development and progress of many projects and firm today. Competition as well is a major problem.

  186. Competition in the global world has pushed many firm out if business due to inability to adapt to the recent complexity in the industries. Most especially in the engineering and technical world. Complexity make it more exciting to work in today’s world as it create more curiousity design and strategy to work

  187. Change is necessary to progress with the constant advances in technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental problems we must embrace change to stay afloat in business. Not everyone sees it in such a positive light so PMs should create a roadmap on how to communicate, train, and engage our teams to ensure change becomes a new way of working. Covid-19 has affected a lot of organizations either positively or negatively.

  188. As an entrepreneur rapid technological change require me to stay informed. Information they say is the bedrock of any successful endeavor therefore, i must stay informed with the change of event in the business line.

  189. Technological advancement has greatly affected the ways development and humanitarian projects gather data and decisions making. Projects now deploy various data collection applications such as ODK and Kobocollect that ease data collection and analysis. Unlike in the past where paper-based data collection and analysis in practice with its time consuming and incoherent challenges.
Social and political changes experienced by many countries has led to working remotely or virtually in delivering projects. Working remotely has helped in saving of lives from crisis in political transitions, dangers of COVID-19 and other diseases ravaging the world. For instance, projects now adopt Hit-and-run strategy in vaccinating eligible children in security compromised communities in the Northwest of Nigeria.

  190. As an interior designer, my work is influenced by global factors such as technology, competition, social and political change, as well as environmental crisis. These factors shape the way I design and the choices I make. Technology enables ne to use advanced tools and platforms for design creation and presentation. Competition is fierce, so intentionally must differentiate myself through unique design solutions and exceptional customer service. Social and political changes affect design preferences and requirements, while the environmental crisis emphasizes the need for sustainable and eco-friendly design practices. So Staying informed, upgrading my skills, and communicating the value of sustainable design to my clients.

  191. Changes are bound to occur…both in technology, the environment, society, etc. We all should be prepared for these changes and concentrate on our growth as project managers and as Organizations. There should be a need for training, and upskilling in order to remain relevant in this changing world.

  192. I work with a financial institution and there are many issues the organization is facing ranging from technology to social and political activities and the rest.

These hurdles can be overcome by making of adequate provision for all these issues.

A lot of investment in upskill and reskill of staffs training.

  193. To me I feel the rapid global changes currently experienced is interesting. For one it has opened the eyes of everybody and you cannot afford to continue to use and stick to our primitive methods and yet expect a different result.
It has also given way to a healthy competition in the global world of business. Foreign projects are now emerging and accessible, execution can even been done without necessarily leaving the country where you reside. For my organization, our clients has also increased both locally and internationally.
On the other hand, social and political crisis in our country has resulted into emergence of ill conceived government policies . this coupled with harsh environmental changes in the country have both combined to affect many organizations including ours. many potential foreign partnering organizations have relocated although situation has favored others who were well positioned for this development.
Technology on its own has been an eye opener to all across the globe. It has challenged all and bring so many opportunities for innovations and better organizational efficiency.. Also, it has made the entire global business world quite competitive whereby organizations have to enhance project quality and respond swiftly to to changing market demands.

  194. As an organization, technology may cause downsizing of staff, it will also increase workload and cross functional roles within the organization.

For project, technology especially for team members who possesses set skill on project management and it softwares will enhance high productivity and efficiency.

  195. As a good Project Manager, one should be able to consider the major global issues like technology, legal and regulations, political and social changes, environmental and competition in order to determine the success of the project. Take for example, the present change of political leadership in Nigeria affected the commencement of the fourth Mainland which the Lagos State wanted to do the Public Private Participation.

  196. Globally, people are beginning to have the same ideas, which means more competition. For project managers, this means more of their jobs involve identifying competitors. Some of the challenges faced by project managers are cultural differences, legal restrictions, work environments, political situations, and even work approaches. All this needs to be considered for the project to succeed.

  197. When considering big global issues such as technology, competition, social and political change and environmental crisis,I think it’s important to assess how they may impact my organization and projects.

Technology: Rapid advancement in technology can both create opportunities and pose challenges for your organization it may require one to adapt and integrate new technologies into your projects.
Competition:It is crucial to monitor your competitors and understand their strategies ,as well as identify unique value propositions that differentiate your organization and project from others.
Social and political change: social and political change such as shifting demographics, cultural shifts and policy reform can influence consumer behaviour and market dynamics .Organization should stay aware of these changes.
Environmental crisis:this includes climate change and resource depletion, has led to increased awareness and demand for sustainable practices . incorporating environmental consideration into your projects can enhance your organization reputation.
To assess the impact of these global issues on your organization and projects conducting a thorough analysis of your industry , market trends and stakeholders expectations.

  198. You must need to adapt to the environmental, technological, political and societal changes. To be relevant in a changing world,

These changes can affect organization positively and sometimes negatively, but what can we do? We have to adjust and adapt, in that way, we grow.
    Change is always constant.

  199. One thing that remains constant is “Change”.
Environmental, Technological, Political, and social changes affect organizations, Industries and the global world positively, so we are to grow and adapt to these relevant changes in as much as our world is continually growing for good too.

  200. To stay relevant in a changing world, one needs to adapt to the environmental, technological, political and societal changes.

Sometimes, these changes affects my organization positively and sometimes negatively, but what can we do? We have to adjust and adapt, in that way, we grow.
    Change is always constant.

  201. Global changes like environmental, political, social and technological changes affects the world and as such organisations in different ways. These changes has affected my organisation and projects in different ways but the best way to pull through is to adapt and align with this changes for effectiveness at work. For instance, with the change and improvement in technology, my organisation has provided means where it’s employee are trained with needed tech skills to make them tech savvy and efficient at work.

  202. One needs to grow continually with the growing world and adapt to relevant changes and environment. We also need to develop continually and be ready to make changes as and at when necessary

  203. Global issues like technological advancements, heightened competition, social and political changes, and environmental concerns significantly shape how my organizations function per time and how projects are managed. Adaptation and alignment with these changes are critical for my organizations and projects to strive towards efficiency and remain competitive in dynamic environments.

  204. To stay relevant and afloat in a fast changing world requires making a lot of changes, adaptations and modifications in ways of doing things in other to accommodate the changes around the globe and our immediate environment. These changes gives an organisation a competitive advantage in a fast changing world

  205. Trying to understand the global issues such as technology, competition, social and political challenges, and environmental issues in a wider range it will be critical to run a business in this changing world without addressing the necessity. The above elements mentioned above can have a negative impacts on any project if attention not drawn. In a banking industry, where changes are rising on daily basis like in terms of technology the rapid technology advancement brings productivity and efficiency gain. For instance, the online presence is getting a lot of customers where you can sit at the comfort of your zone to transact your business. This implies there is need to implore more on smart digital marketing to win the competition. Being aware of competitors as a business owner you have to think out of the box and be responsive to market demands and to maintain this competitive edge, there is need to focus on differentiation. In regards to the political, social and environmental changes, it is necessary for every business area to be conducive. Political insecurity and social unrest creates uncertainty and has impact on project planning, raising an environmental awareness will also creates opportunities for growth in the market.
In all these, continuous monitoring in the above mentioned elements and being informed and proactive,an organisation can navigates the complexities of these global issues.

  206. In the modern ere we are some of the Governmental organization or Non governmental organization it’s difficult to apply the the use of AI in order to shape the complexity task, which is that can easily to use the technological infrastructure tool made easy smoothly duty among the institutions

  207. The project setting is complex because it exists for a reason and drives more than one resource, brought together to form unity in diversity.
Proper utilization of various resources to achieve the target makes this a challenge. To overcome it, one must take measures. The good thing about it is that, though challenging, when well planned and executed, a project is a success.

  208. I currently work for a non profit, set out to solve the problem of education in Africa. Quite a number of the teachers and school leaders that I train are not tech savvy and majority of them struggle to integrate our technology initiatives into their classrooms.

  209. The factors of technology and social and political changes greatly affect the work that I do. I manage nonprofit projects, and in the area of fundraising, online payment platforms have made donations pretty easy, but we still have to keep looking for effective ways to connect with our donors, beneficiaries, and social media community.

Socio-political changes also affect our operations, as there are areas we are unable to reach due to some sort of ongoing crisis. The economic climate not being friendly also affects the level of support we are getting from the public.

  210. In every project, there are several factors directly or indirectly that may influence the pace of delivery.
For instance, technology so far has greatly affected the progress of projects as compared to the level of delivery when it was only dependent on manpower alone.
Also, for civil engineering projects, there are a lot of factors like human(workforce), climatic(weather conditions), social(community influence), political, and so on…All of these factors and more must be checked and balanced for a smooth run in this kind of projects.

  211. The emergence of technology has undoubtedly increased the output of our everyday work.
Narrowing it down to project management, we couldn’t have gotten a job done in wink without the advent of those sophisticated equipment.

Getting the hands of the stakeholders on deck, especially those fully involved in the project is very pertinent and given them the avenue to be familiar with the technological trends that will improve the the overall output is very necessary.

  212. The invent of technology worldwide, and the adoption of technology into the construction industry have helped shape and improve the industry within my country, this have also affected the way a project manager is to plan and execute a project.

  213. This module’s theme about managing projects in a complex world resonates deeply. The global backdrop you paint – tech revolutions, interconnected markets, socio-political churn, and environmental anxieties – perfectly captures the dynamic landscape within which organizations, and hence projects, operate.

It’s easy to think project management exists in its own bubble, but acknowledging the interconnectedness is crucial. How an organization interprets and adapts to this complexity will shape the projects it prioritizes and how it steers them.

I’m particularly intrigued by the exploration of frameworks that guide us through this intricate world. Frameworks can be invaluable tools for understanding what’s happening around us, informing our actions and decisions, ultimately empowering us to navigate uncertainty with greater clarity.

  214. Complexity is fascinating, isn’t it??it’s this intricate web that weaves itself into every aspect of our world, from the simplest system to the most convoluted structure, what specifically are you pondering about complexity?? Is It about the complexity in nature, technology, system,or something else entirely

  215. Globalisation has affected different sectors including healthcare systems. In my organization, the economic issue currently faced by my country has increased the migration of several pharmaceutical companies, which has therefore affected the procurement department. The cost of procurement for drugs is constantly increasing and this has affected both the masses and health professionals as there is limited access to funds.

  216. Because there are so many infringements on intellectual property rights, the increased use of technology has led to a larger use of my area of expertise, law.
But as a company, we have an obligation to stay current with technological advancements.
Healthy competition enables us to reflect on and assess our actions, errors, and accomplishments.
As a society and community evolve, new regulations are implemented, which might occasionally increase or decrease the organization’s prospects.
Current awareness of the state of the environment is necessary because environmental changes are contingent upon what the environment requires at any one time.

  217. In a fast changing world, with the use of technology in workplaces, organizations have been able to increase their productivity and efficiency at a rapid pace. Processes that were once manual and time-consuming can now be achieved in a quick and efficient manner with digital tools, applications, and systems.
Basically, the complexity here is simply having basic understanding for how these systems work, making adjustments, and practically doing what needs to be done in order to be afloat, these ensures a successful completion of projects.

In the Event world for instance, the role of technology in event planning and management has grown exponentially in recent years. From the early days of paper invitations and manual attendee tracking, event planning has now entered the digital age. Technology has made event planning and management easier, more efficient, and more cost-effective, such as the rise of Event planning software, Online registration and Ticketing, Event Apps, Social Media and even Live streaming.

  218. Global issues affect every organization in different ways just as listed in the write up to this which include; Technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis.
The rise in technology has made it possible for so many organization or business to thrive during crisis time, and even make more money if they are willing to pay the price of an investor. I work in the healthcare industry and due to the emergent of Covid-19 there has been competition between different hospitals, Government own established hospital and private hospitals bidding to get Nurses to work in their facility as a result of shortage of nurses. These healthcare staffing companies are willing to double the amount permanent staff are making just to get their services to other hospitals or establishment who are willing to pay more for their services. At the long it’s very important to know that each of the above changes has power one way or the other to effect change management. Social and political change is another issues. With a change in government comes the change in policies and rules on how business or deals are managed in accordance with the laws pertaining to the government in power. Every organization must understand this will come and work towards adaptation to every single change in other to advance their businesses.

  219. Trying to manage projects in a complicated world. The complexity here involves the understanding of the rise in new technology, competition, social and political changes and environmental issues.
When you fail to realize that at some point in a project you will be face with one or some of these impacts, your organization hardly strives, or your projects gets complete successfully.

In my industry, the hospitality industry we face a lot of competition day in day out. There is a constant rise in the number of hotels with new technologies and upgraded hotel versions like the Airbnb. These industry at some point in certain locations are affected by the socio-political situations.

As such what is needed is to always be ahead of the competition by constantly conducting research in the market, learn and know about the latest technology, and the socio-political developments of that location and around the world

  220. Trying to evaluate and understand the technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental issues in a wider perspective is critical to run projects in a changing world. The above mentioned elements can have adverse impacts on various projects if good attention is not drawn. As someone working in tourism industry, its operation is changing because of upgraded changes in technology which impact a lot on competition. Nowadays the online presence is making it to get customers from around the world who want ti visit specific touristic destinations. The smart digital marketing is outcompeting the old one. This means there is a need of adapting with new changes or improvement in technologies in order to win the competition because these new technological trends make life easy on side of clients as well as on side of the business owner. What is needed is to make huge investments in digital marketing in order to bring to online table the services tourista are looking for. Many people who were used to old marketing strategies are finding it difficult to get customers, hence there is an urgent call for everyone to adapt per this changing world in order to keep their businesses successful.

  221. Understanding global issues such as technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental issues is critical for businesses to navigate and succeed. These elements can have a significant impact on many aspects of an organization, including projects. Here’s an overview of how each of these global issues may affect my organization and the projects we are working on:

    Technology:

Opportunities: Rapid technological advancements provide opportunities for project innovation and efficiency gains. Adoption of new technologies boosts productivity and competitiveness.
Challenges: The rapid pace of technological change presents challenges, particularly if an organization is unable to keep up. Existing system obsolescence or the need for ongoing employee training may have an impact on project timelines and budgets.
    Competition:

Opportunities: Healthy competition can spur innovation and improvement. Being aware of competitor activities allows businesses to remain agile and responsive to market demands.
Challenges: Intense competition reduces profit margins, necessitating strategic changes in project planning. To maintain a competitive edge, it is also necessary to focus on differentiation.
    Social and Political Changes:

Opportunities: Positive social and political changes create an environment that is conducive to business operations. Changes in regulations, for example, may open up new markets or streamline existing processes.
Political insecurity or social unrest creates uncertainty and has an impact on project planning. Regulation changes necessitate modifications to project compliance and governance.
    Environmental Problems:

Opportunities: Raising environmental awareness creates opportunities for sustainable projects and practices.
Environmental issues, such as climate change or resource scarcity, have an impact on supply chains and project logistics. Compliance with environmental regulations may complicate projects.
In light of these global issues, consider the following general strategies for mitigating their impact on organizations and projects:

Continuous Monitoring: Monitor global technology trends, competition, social and political changes, and environmental issues on a regular basis to anticipate potential impacts on organizations and projects.

Adaptability: Promote an adaptable culture within the organization. Prepare to modify project plans and strategies in response to shifting global dynamics.

Strategic Planning: Create solid strategic plans that take into account potential challenges and opportunities posed by global issues. This includes scenario planning for different possible future scenarios.

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders such as employees, customers, and the community to stay informed about changing expectations and concerns about global issues.

By remaining informed and proactive, our organization navigates the complexities of these global issues and positions itself for long-term success in an ever-changing environment.

  222. DARAMOLA AKEEM (COHORT 12 GROUP 2)

THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY IN MANAGING PROJECTS CAN NOT BE OVERLOOKED, AS A MATTER OF FACT, IT IS BECOMING A COMMON PLACE.THAT IS, IT IS TAKING OVER THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT.FROM THE INTRODUCTION OF ENGINEERING, COMPUTER ENGEERING, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING , ROBOTICS AND MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING, AND THE ALL MIGHTY SOFTWARE ENGINEERING WITH AN OPTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
FROM THE POST COVID ERA WE CAN SEE THAT THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY AFFECTED A WHOLE LOT OF JOBS, THERE HAS BEEN NEW TRENDS AND DISCOVERIES ON THE WAY WE CARRY OUT OUR DAY TO DAY JOBS. FROM SCHOOLING, TO HANDLING OF PROJECTS. IT IS NO NEW THING NOW THAT WE NOW HAVE 3 D PRINTED HOUSES THAT CAN BE COMPLETED WITHIN A SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME ALL THESE WILL DEFINITELY AFFECT THE NUMBER OF WORKERS NEEDED TO CARRY OUT TASKS . I MEAN, WHO NEEDS 10 WORKERS WHEN A ROBOT CAN CARRY OPUT THE TASKS WITHIN MINUTES?.IN A NUTSHELL, THE ADVENT OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY HAS COME TO STAY IN MOST WORK ENVIRONMENT AND WILL DEFINITELY AFFECT THE LABOUR FORCE AS A WHOLE.
REGULATIONS ARE NOT FAR FETCHED ALSO. THEY HAVE TO DEFINITELY WORK HAND IN HAND. I MEAN , MOST OF THESE NEWLY INTRODUCED TECHNOLOGIES MUST AT ONE POINT OR THE OTHER , GO THROUGH GOVERNMENT SCRUTINY AND APPROVAL. THAT IS , THEY HAVE TO BE TESTED AND TRUSTED FOR IT TO BE USED .A TYPICAL EXAMPLE IS OUR ELECTRONIC CARS (TESLA AND OTHERS) YES, THEY MAY SEEM NEW, BUT TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, THEY WILL GRADUALLY TAKE OVER THE WORLD OF DRIVING EXPERIENCE BUT IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO GOVERNMENT POLITIES ALONG SIDE THE SOCIO POLITICAL CHANGES OF THE EMMIDIATE ENVIRONMENT IT NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED. IS IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DEPLOYED, IF YES, CAN IT BE SUSTAIMNABLE?THESE ARE SOME QUESTIONS THAT WILL NEED TO BE ADDRESSED THERE BY AFFECTING THE SOCIO POLITICAL CHANGES
ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS IS ANOTHER ISSUE HERE .THE ENVIRONMENTAL ACCEPTABILITY OF THESE COMMON ISSUES MUST AT ALL COST NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO FOR IT TO BE SUCCESPULLY IMPLEMENTED. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO WORK HAND IN HAND WITH THE CITIZENS WHO ARE THE DIRECT OR END COMSUMERS OF ALL THESE IDEAS .
COMPETIOTION AS A MAJOR CATALYST OF ANY AREA OF EXPERTISE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO.ALL ORGANISATIONS WILL HAVE TO BE MORE INOVATIVE IN TERMS OF THEIR PRODUCTS AND WHAT IT TENDS TO SOLVE I THE SOCIETY. I MEAN , EEVRY PRODUCT NO MATTER HOW SMALL IT IS , HAS A PURPOSE. TO SOLVE A PROBLEM. IT NOW DEPENDS ON WHAT SOLUTION THE CONSUMERS ADOPTS TO SOLVE THAT SOCIETAL PROBLEM

  223. 1. Simultaneous Impacts from Technology. The technological advances of today are affecting the future of work in three key ways: by scaling and speeding up human capabilities, by substituting labor with machines, and by enabling new ways to access and supply labor. Scaling and speeding up human capability.
    2. Global competition becomes a form of international competition in which the position of an enterprise in one country affects its competitive position in other countries. As a result, companies are competing among themselves for international leadership. As a result of such a struggle, the economy is globalizing.
    3. Population growth and increasing population density represent demographic forms of social change. Population growth may lead to geographic expansion of a society, military conflicts, and the intermingling of cultures. while Political factors include areas such as tax policy, labor law, environmental law, trade restrictions, tariffs, and political stability. Political factors may also include the type of goods and services which the government does not want to be provided by the project.
    4. Environmental health-related risks are becoming a primary concern in Nigeria, with diverse environmental problems such as air pollution, water pollution, oil spillage, deforestation, desertification, erosion, and flooding (due to inadequate drainage systems) caused mostly by anthropogenic activities.
With all of these in mind as a project manager, you are aware of the threat and way out o it

  224. COHORT 12, GROUP 4
    Technology has a substantial
impact on organization’s environment. It advances how people operate computes, makes work easier with tools like Asana, trello etc.. The use of data analytics empowers businesses to make data-driven decisions and improve customer experience.
Political impact, includes trade regulations, government, all these have direct impact on organization’s operations and their growth. Political shift s can cause uncertainty, leadership to economic crisis that will affect organizational growth.
Competition, the more competition there is the more a business will want to improve on its products/ services. It keeps business’s on their feet
Social disturbances is a common incident that can disrupt business operations and put the organization at risk. Social unrest, is usually accompanied by a demand for better societal change
    Fatmata Wurie Bah

  225. The heightened use of technology has brought a wider use of my specialty, law, as there are so many encroachments on intellectual property rights.
However, as an organisation we are expected to be up to date with the evolution that come with technology.
Competition (which should an healthy one) helps us to revaluate and mirror our activities, mistakes and achievements.
    Social and community evolution
comes with new rule enactments which sometimes broaden or limit the organisation’s opportunities.
Environmental changes are subjected to what the environment is in essential need of, at that particular time, so there must be an a current knowledge of the environment’s status

  226. The environmental changes have led to my organization developing innovative solutions to tackle climate change issues.

  227. The development in technology has rapidly brought about greater changes in the operating system nature of my job. I.e Surveying. Due to the environmental factors and individual trait there had been a drastic change of system in the surveying firm.

    1. The world is changing… thus, the complexity. And as a good project manager you must able to adapt to changes . Be prepared for any thing that may happen on a long run of the project . Be able to profer solutions to any changes.

  228. Technology, Competition, Social, political, and environmental factors all affect projects and organizations. They affect the budget, quality, and timeline of a project, and also determine if a project is valuable and acceptable to the consumer. They can either create opportunities or threats for an organization.
A project manager needs to follow the trends and innovations and not remain static in an ever-changing world. A PM is expected to be up to date on government policies, global warming and technological advancement as these may adversely affect the project negatively or positively, therefore the need to upskill/upgrade to deliver a world-class project.

  229. In today’s thriving world of technology, social and political disturbance, there are varying aspects of evolution which we are subconsciously adapting to in our different fields and niches. With the invention of artificial intelligence (AI), there has been a heightened expectation in method and approach to the delivery of various projects. As a public safety official, there has been a series of change in our mode of operation. For example, the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system has become more intelligent as it can almost take the position of a customer service representative. This can pose as a threat to projects especially in situations where the automated AI voice response system is unable to give proper judgement to the complaint.

  230. Considering global issue, I will suggest one have other plan options that are realistic, not relying on a single one.

    Able to predict and foresee

Changes in power and economy instability too will have a great influence in the success of project

  231. PEDRO O AKHIMIEN. COHORT 12, TEAM 9

Managers and other professionals are now aware of the connections and significance between problem-solving and decision-making abilities as a result of recent political and economic events as well as changes in the practice and delivery of health and social care. Specifically, evaluating how healthcare policies, plans, and organizational programs are affected by political, economic, sociocultural, environmental, and other external influences is starting to be recognized as a critical step in the strategic development and planning processes for health services. Therefore, the goal of doing this type of strategic analysis is to identify the main problems that the organization needs to solve.

This form of analysis can be undertaken by reviewing the organizational (external) environment using the PESTLE analysis.

Political factors – political forces and influences, both large and minor, that could have an impact on the organization’s performance or available options.

Economic Influences – the nature of the competition faced by the organization or its services, and financial resources available within the economy.

Sociological Trends – demographic changes, trends in the way people live, work, and think.

Technological Innovations – innovative methods for doing both new and old tasks, as well as solving both old and new problems; these methods don’t always require technical tools; they can also be creative ways of organizing or thinking.

Legislative requirements – originally included under ‘political’, relevant legislation now requires a heading of its own.

Ecological factors – definition of the wider ecological system of which the organization is a part and consideration of how the organization interacts with it.

To be effective, a PESTLE analysis needs to be undertaken regularly. Organizations that do analysis regularly and systematically often spot trends before others thus providing a competitive advantage.

  232. Honestly, some of the major problems we face in my current organization is high exchange rate, coupled with the fact that most of our raw materials are not locally available and thus have to be imported from overseas.

These lead to high cost of production for optimum quality to be maintained for our cosumers. And of course high cost of production equals higher price, which poses the problem of affordability to our consumers.

  233. Considering those major global issues like technology, competition, social and political changes, and environmental problems, think about how they impact your organization and the projects you’re involved in.
Looking at present day Nigeria, lot of external factors tends to affect projects ongoing presently. These include.
    1.Devaluation of the Naira
This action has brought about the naira losing value against the dollar. This has negatively affected the cost of running projects as machineries, equipment imported into the country and other logistics for projects have skyrocketed beyond the initial budget for the projects.
This has resulted in projects being reviewed or suspended entirely.
    2.Social and Political Changes
Runing projects in some parts of the country has become difficult due to the security situations in some parts of the country. Logistic and other areas of the projects are hampered due to the threats of attacks and kidnapping.
3.Technology advancement is another area of concerns when it comes to projects as technology is evolving and everyone craves for the latest technological trends which comes at a cost. A project done today could become obsolete due to technological advancement. This might require upgrading to meet up with the latest technology.

  234. From my past experience in evaluation of projects when dealing with complexity in projects it essential to use the complexity assessment tool aims to help those in delivery roles understand how complex a project or product is to deliver based on key indicators. It can be used during the planning stage or for in-flight initiatives and offers a structured, best practice method of highlighting potential risks and complexities, or to validate current thinking.

  235. Sunday Nathaniel Ngwamah, Cohort 12, Team 10.

The World has become complex as globalisation has hit the ground and still running, affecting day-to-day life and every organisation. This has caused radical and seismic change to traditional way of handling projects to force project owners to think out of the box or be overtaken by change. While it is true that projects owner and handlers know that they operate in a changing world and business environment, the globalised change especially of recent is drastic and sweeping, making the project climate hyper complex.

The dimensions of change this complexity has brought is technological advancements, competition, social and political changes, environmental problems and crisis. These have greatly impacted businesses and projects and requires urgent attention for successes to be consolidated.

    1. Technology: with advancements in technology in business and use of AIs, projects have come to a threshold of a need for adaptation and investment in technology. This will require purchase of technological equipments and trainings, which are quite capital intensive though it will pay off. My organisation is quite behind in this, and would definitely need to make adjustments. Negligence to this leaves the organisation behind and it will take a toll on business influx and profit.

    2. Competition: in a globalised world, completion is the other of the day. There are mobility of clients and customers usually for variety of reasons ranging from quality job delivery, cost, timelines etc. The headway my organisation has by considering lately is to create a niche and make it a selling point for all our projects, which will give us a competitive advantage.

    3. Social/political changes: in recent years, my organisation (we are realtors) have suffered much from dwindling government policies and body language, religious crisis and heated environment that projects have been few, timelines mostly affected, cost increasing etc. Our approach to meeting this challenge has been to expand our participation in the valuechain in real estate industry and it has started working.

    4. Environmental problems/crisis: in our business and project environment, environmental issues (which will not stop) has been on the increase. Kidnapping, poverty, polarised town etc. This affecting our projects, have pushed the organisation to think out of the box to accepting the reality of the challenge and proffering solutions

  236. A lot is changing, especially in the angle of technology.
I believe PM should develop tools to make projects and organizational goals appealing

  237. The world is changing, thus the complexity. So in order to fit into the complex one as a good project manager, you must the changes into consideration…like the new technology, globalization of trade, competition and environmental challenges

And again, due to the constant change in our world there’s need for continual to updates to blend easily

  238. Project managers and organizations must stay vigilant, embrace adaptability, and incorporate strategic foresight to navigate and thrive amid the dynamic challenges presented by these major global issues.

The big global issues, such as technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis, these affect my organization and my projects in the sense that with the rise in technological advancement we need to change with current reality to stay in business, other factors include both social and political crises can affect business in the long run due to uncertainty.

  240. The world is changing… thus, the complexity. And as a good project manager you must put those things in mind in order to fit in.
    And again, beca

  241. Global issues like technology, social and political changes have some impact on how projects are executed. Program managers need to constantly update their knowledge on the use of technology to effectively execute and monitor projects.Political changes in terms elections and change of power also is a challenge to continuity of project especially, when projects have a counterpart funding from the government, and this tends to slow down project achievements.

  242. Team 2

The oil and gas industry is navigating a complex landscape shaped by technological advancements, increased competition from renewable energy, evolving social and political attitudes towards climate change, and the urgent need to address environmental concerns. Adapting to these changes is crucial for the industry’s long-term sustainability.

  243. They impact the nursing profession both ways, but most positively mostly facing and adapting to these global challenges. Developing resilience, critical thinking, technological literacy, and strong advocacy skills are essential for nurses to thrive in this ever-evolving landscape and continue to deliver high-quality care to patients.

    1. The food sector is getting a hike in prices daily and it has caused food processing companies to reduce their quantity instead of quality while some will reduce quality and leave the quantity, these issues have made a lot of customers migrate to the later and probably causing the previous to fold up or migrate.

  244. It leads to misunderstandings, increased transaction costs, friction between project participants, and coordination and communication difficulties.

  245. In the fast-changing world, handling a project in a complex world has to do with explicit communication, flexible planning, and strategic risk management.

A PM must break down the project into manageable phases, foster collaboration among team members, and regularly reassess and adjust your strategy based on changing circumstances.

Adopt flexibility and stay open to feedback to guide uncertainties effectively

  246. In the fast-changing world, handling a project in a complex world has to do with explicit communication, flexible planning, and strategic risk management.

A PM must break down the project into manageable phases, foster collaboration among team members, and regularly reassess and adjust your strategy based on changing circumstances.

Adopt flexibility and stay open to feedback to guide uncertainties effectively.

  247. Technology has really impacted organization and projects, as a lot of development has taken place because of technology. Projects that could have taken longer time to round up now take shorter periods.

In terms of competitions, Organisations will wnat to fo better because of their opponents, there’s always the need to really give in the possible best in a project because of the competition

For social and political changes, Organization and projects are affected by the current inflation and there’s a price hike in virtually everything.

  248. In the rapidly changing and complex world we live in, managing projects is deeply intertwined with the broader global issues of technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis. These factors significantly impact organizations, regardless of their size, and influence how they choose and manage projects. Here are some ways in which these global issues might affect organizations and their projects:

    Technology:

Impact on Project Scope and Scale: Advances in technology may necessitate changes in project scope or introduce opportunities for innovation. Organizations may need to adopt new technologies to stay competitive or respond to evolving customer needs.
    Globalization of Trade and Competition:

Increased Market Dynamics: Globalization exposes organizations to a wider market but also intensifies competition. Projects may need to be more adaptable and responsive to diverse market demands, and considerations for international regulations and standards become crucial.
    Social and Political Upheaval:

Risk and Uncertainty: Social and political instability can introduce significant risks and uncertainties. Project managers need to be vigilant about potential disruptions, ranging from changes in government policies to shifts in societal values, which could impact project timelines and resources.
    Environmental Crisis:

Sustainability Integration: The environmental crisis requires organizations to integrate sustainability into their projects. This may involve assessing and mitigating environmental impacts, adhering to regulatory requirements, and adopting eco-friendly practices in project execution.
Considering these factors, individuals may reflect on how their organization navigates these challenges:

Strategic Planning: How does the organization incorporate global trends into its strategic planning for projects? Are there mechanisms in place to continually reassess and adapt strategies in response to external changes?

Risk Management: How does the organization identify, assess, and manage risks associated with technology, global competition, social and political dynamics, and environmental concerns? Are there contingency plans in place for potential disruptions?

Adaptability: Does the organization foster a culture of adaptability? In the face of rapid change, the ability to adjust project plans and methodologies becomes crucial. How are agile and iterative approaches integrated into project management practices?

Stakeholder Engagement: How does the organization engage with stakeholders affected by global issues? This includes customers, employees, regulatory bodies, and communities. Understanding and responding to diverse stakeholder perspectives is essential for project success.

These reflections can serve as a starting point for exploring how organizations align their project management practices with the complexities of the modern world. The upcoming modules will likely delve deeper into frameworks and approaches that empower project managers to navigate uncertainty and deliver successful outcomes in this dynamic environment.

  249. Well, with the invent or upgrade on technology, It has made project execution more faster and easier, but it has somewhat taken the place of team members or should i say teamwork, especially with the invent of AI’s, where you can practically get everything done at the snap of a finger. So as Project Managers, we need to sit up or up our games in making sure that AI’s and other new inventories don’t put us out of our place. Instead, we’ll come together as team members to use this new technologies to our advantage and to the satisfaction of our client or the society at large.

  250. The issue of economy is a very important one in my organisation. Prices of things have gone up and this has necessitated an increase in our own prices in other to keep afloat. However, we cannot just increase our prices; we have to look at our clients and consider if they would be able to afford them. This has impacted a lot of project we are trying to implement; the question of if we should go ahead with the project or not and how to scale it comes up.

  251. Political change..
Politics has played a vital role in businesses e.g regional laws and regulations can determine how a company operates or whether it benefits from international expansion.for this reason aspiring entrepreneurs, business leaders and strategies in heavily regulated industries should familiarize themselves with politics effects on business.. government role in businesses can’t be overemphasised
    Some of the roles include
    Protecting citizens from external harm
    Protecting citizens from internal threats
    Protecting property rights
    Creating means of resolving disputes.
How government fulfill these responsibilities significantly has impacted my business..for instance to protect citizens well being and guarantee a living wage government had impose a base pay requirements(minimum wage) this is a motivation for me and the workers by enabling them to put more effort in their work..the workers won’t think of embezzling management or business funds..

  252. Global issues profoundly impact insurance organizations and their projects. Technological advancements introduce both opportunities and challenges, influencing how insurers assess risks, underwrite policies, and engage with customers. Intense competition requires constant innovation in products and services to stay relevant. Social and political changes can alter regulatory landscapes, affecting compliance and market dynamics. Environmental crises, such as climate change, pose substantial risks, as insurers must navigate increased claims related to extreme weather events. Additionally, societal shifts may impact the insurability of certain assets. Adapting to these multifaceted challenges demands agility, robust risk modeling, and strategic foresight to ensure insurance projects remain resilient and aligned with evolving global realities.

  253. Our understanding and response as project managers to complexities caused by new technology, worldwide trade and competition, social and political disturbances, and the environmental crisis may have advantages and disadvantages.

As project managers we need to be open and ready face to changes because change will happen weather we are ready for it or not and complexity caused by new technologies and worldwide competition as caused many companies to network easily, work remotely, have real-time access to information while facilitating communication, it has also improve the quality and quantity of trade and help organizational structures and innovation. The pros of these events are many, however these complexities have also caused some disadvantages. Taking decision during environmental crisis, social and political complexities use to be very difficult for project managers because these complexities may influence our project negatively and sometimes caused us to shut down the project. The lack of energy (electricity) and multiple government reforms and political complexities have made many organizations to fold up in Nigeria. the case of P&G a FMCG that shut down is plant at Agbara a year after it was opened in 2017

  254. Considering the significant global issues of technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis, organizations and their projects are profoundly impacted in various ways:

I find the rapid global changes currently experienced quite exciting. It has enabled a more competitive environment in the global business sector. Organizations can now access foreign projects and in some cases, executive them without leaving their place of domicile. This situation has benefited my organization, providing us with a wither range of clients both local and international.
However, social and political crisis in the country resulting from establishment of insensitive policies by government and it’s elements, as well as unfavorable environmental changes in the country, has adversely affected the organization. Foreign organizations located that required our services are relocating out of reach as a result of the above listed harsh changes. While that is true, the situation also creates the opportunity for organizations (where such crises are at a higher degree) to reach out to foreign partnership, and that becomes an advantage for organizations properly positioned for such opportunities.

    4. Technology is everything globally. Therefore, all should be made to embrace.
    5. Cultural migration across the globe.
    6. Toxic environments put businesses at high risk
    7 Complex market dynamics

  273. The complexity could be in the form of :
    1. Technology shift
    2.Global unrest
    3. Social economic shift
    4. Climate change
    5. Government policies
We cannot over emphasize that the globalisation of these complexity plays different roles in various organisations
Project managers need to be fiscally sustainable. 275. How global issues like technology, competition, social and political changes, environmental problems, etc. have impacted your organization and the projects I am involved in?

Technology – Technology brought about a new way of doing new and old things, tackling new and old problems. These do not necessarily involve technical equipment but also novel ways of thinking or organizing. New machines in my facility make consultation less stressful for the doctor and almost painless and stressless experience.

Environmental Crisis – increased disruptions to society from extreme weather, with more flooding and storms, more severe droughts and heat waves, rising sea levels, and warming permafrost. Air pollution can even cause a reduction in revenue when there is high staff turnover or patients refuse to present at the facility due to the bad odour around the premises.

Social and Political – These two forces/influence options open to organizations in the sense that demography changes trends in the way people live, work, and think while on the flip side, government policies may make or mar a business.

Competition – Competition in the sector has put a lot of other healthcare facilities on their toes to step up their game in this industry with regards to developing new ideas, purchasing of new equipment, etc, if they are to get a slice of the national cake.

  276. Competition plays a major role in my entity as it relates to project decisions. Knowing that we have competitors impact greatly our decisions in how we bid and how we offer our services to our clients. Keeping in mind that there are a lot of other entities who can do what we do. This constantly make us want to do better.
As for political and social, technological, and environmental changes, we work with the dynamics it brings to the project per project. This is because with different places comes different climate. And one thing all those global issues have in common with the exception of Competition is that they tend to change with time. So depending on who is requiring our service and where, we structure ourselves to fit the demand while maintaining our values. This can be really hard in certain political climate.

  277. The world is evolving and as an engineer i have noticed so much effect on organizations and projects today, which are;
    1. New technology: Tech is already the present and the future. The oil and gas / energy sector are beginning to implement the use of Artificial intelligence in the industry , to be able to meet up with the demands of consumers and this has led to loss of jobs because robots are able to maximize oil production with no risks.
    2. Worldwide trade and competition: this is a major issue to all organizations due to inflation rate and currency exchange right now.
    3. Social and political disturbances: often times organizations are being locked or projects are being stopped due to demands from community host.
    4. Environmental emergency: this can come as flood, storm , risk to human life, which can disrupt the efficiency of workers, revenue etc

  278. Well, we are in a generation where these changes are ever increasing…
It all ball down to how every company understands and responds to these complexities and how they in turn use it to influence the projects they chooses to undertake to achieving their intending goal.
    Thanks

  285. One inevitable challenge faced frequently is the incessant changes in our external environment. It affects our service delivery, it affects our supply chains etc. The consistent increase in exchange rate which is a combination of economic factors as well as political factors affects our projects.
Development of new technological trends places us in a situation where we need to upgrade in order to stay alive in the competitive industry

  286. With the rapid change and technological advancement the world is experiencing, there is less and less dependence on human resources. Inotherwords, one must constantly seek knowledge and continuous development in order to stay relevant.
There is relatively stringent competition witht the sudden advent of AI.
Social, political, and environmental issues have necessitated some projects to be put on hold or to experience a drag either due to lack of funds by sponsors or due to the impact of the on-going war between Russia and Ukraine as well as the middle East.

  288. Technology has played significant roles in project execution and implementations. With the help of technology getting job done becomes easy, though technology has its negative side too which is making people dependant on it, whereby if their is fault or network challenge some work cant continue. So technology can be seen as both good and a curse.

  289. Technology has really helped my company. As one of the leading cookware manufacturers in the world, Burn has employed some modern technology and machinery that has helped the business attain such great milestone.

  290. Executing projects in present day has faced a lot of challenges such as technological, political and environmental.

As it concerns technology, it can be said that technology has been both a blessing and curse. A blessing because it has aided in effective communication and making the execution of projects faster. One can now send emails, text messages and even communicate via various social media. There is little or no need of having a physical meeting.

On the other hand, technology has been a curse because it has in some instances slowed down projects due to lack of proper communication between team members especially where internet connection is unavailable.

As it concerns environmental, there are difficult terrains which makes execution of projects almost impossible e.g. in a place where the host community is hostile to project managers.

Lastly, managing projects can be affected politically. Governments come and go, and there is always the issue of new policies coming up everyday which hinder continuity; hence disrupting the execution of projects.

  291. As a project manager, the changing world due to globalization and technological advancement as well as environmental change has greatly affected the way projects are being run and delivered. Apart from striving for professionalism, being and staying relevant is an integral part of the project works in meeting the needs and yearnings of the general public that we serve either directly or indirectly. Why is this? Technology has changed the way things are done, the advent of mobile phones, mobile interface that allows people to have access to basic information and services and not necessarily having to go physically is changing the attitude and response of officers to ensure proper service delivery. This one needs to also contend with those still stuck with the old ways of doing things which are no longer effective. Globalization has brought about global views and interaction because its no longer limited to those within your political, or sociocultural regions but the whole world as a global village. The environmental changes has put more awareness into the perspective of sustaining the integrity of the environment vis a vis the functionality of those within the same environment. Also the climate change , its effect and responses to those effects are now crucial to allow for adequate preparation in the case of adverse cases.
The complexity to which all these factors are now interwoven has also put a lot of demand on one hand while making others redundant on the other hand.

  292. There are many complex issues that affect my practice. Consider technology transfer and its impact on project delivery, inflation as it affect prices of construction materials necessitating constant review of contract cost or need to re-negotiate the terms of a contract and finally global climate change and the environmental uncertainties surrounding construction activities.

  293. As a vendor, I do supplies for NGOs, and the rate at which the Nigerian currency is falling against the dollar is so worrisome and makes the market unpredictable. Making it very hard for business owners too.

  294. As an aspiring project manager in the construction industry, I think one of the global issues that is of major concern is inflation. Particularly as a Nigerian, the instability of the naira against the dollar does bad things to project costs. I think the impact of inflation is never positive for the client and project manager.
Yes, we make plans for such fluctuations, but at times, it can get so crazy that a project gets stuck.

  295. As a customer service assistant professional here is how these Concerns resonate within my organization.
Technological Advancements: In the realm of customer service, technology has been a double-edged sword. On one hand, it has empowered us with innovative tools and platforms to enhance customer interactions. However, the rapid evolution of technology also means staying agile to adapt to new communication channels and tools. Keeping up with customer expectations in this dynamic technological landscape has been both exciting and challenging.
Competitive Landscape: The competitive landscape in our industry is more intense than ever. With globalization breaking down geographical barriers, we are not just competing with local businesses but navigating a global market. This necessitates a heightened focus on delivering exceptional customer service as a key differentiator to retain and attract customers in a fiercely competitive environment.
Social and Political Changes: The ever-shifting sands of social and political landscapes have a direct impact on customer sentiments. Navigating through diverse perspectives and addressing concerns arising from societal changes requires a nuanced approach. As a customer service professional, understanding and empathizing with customers from various backgrounds and perspectives has become integral to maintaining positive customer relations.
Environmental Concerns: Environmental issues have also made their mark on the customer service domain. Customers are increasingly conscious of the environmental footprint of businesses. This awareness has led to a surge in inquiries about sustainable practices, packaging, and corporate responsibility. Balancing the need for eco-friendly initiatives with operational efficiency is an ongoing challenge that demands strategic thinking.
In conclusion, the confluence of these global issues has made my role as a customer service assistant both dynamic and demanding. It has underscored the importance of not only meeting but exceeding customer expectations, all while adapting to the evolving landscape shaped by technology, competition, social dynamics, and environmental consciousness.

  296. The world keep revolving and at the same time everything changes especially in technology.
But as a project manager, you take the best out of every change and be a professional that you are.

    1. As an aspiring project manager, i think global issues like technology advancements, competition, social and political changes, and environmental crises can significantly impact organizations and projects.
Technological shifts may require adaptations to stay competitive, while political changes can influence regulatory movements. Social shifts may affect consumer preferences, and environmental crises can pose risks to operations. Organizations must navigate these dynamics to thrive and ensure projects align with the volving global landscape.

  297. As a start-up technology company that I work for, I found out that technology and competition greatly affects the industry and also trying to find a balance to this whiles trying to get a win- win situation out of it, is truly a struggle.

  298. In all the projects we do now, or that we may do, we use frameworks like SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to understand these complexities and PESTLE (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental) analysis to anticipate external factors that could impact projects. Agile methodologies can offer the flexibility needed to navigate uncertainty, while waterfall methods provide structured planning that can be essential for specific regulatory requirements. The key is often to blend these approaches, using agile to iterate and adapt quickly and waterfall to ensure thorough planning and documentation where necessary.

  299. Complexity is indeed a serious factor to consider as a PM.Ability to think out of the box matched with timely well thought out decision will help the PM navigate through challenges.

  300. Political changes, competition, environmental , technology and social media has great impact on organisational projects, these impacts could be in the upside or downside whichever way the organisations uses these unpredictable event to effect growth, information and improve on existing stands.

  301. Political issues and policy has a great effect at the consultancy firm where I work, making it difficult for us to get new projects. Also High Cost of Operation due to Global issues have a significant impact on our Organisation, in terms of making profit which will effect the growth and development of the Organisation.

  302. Organizations in the development space such as ours are grappling with scarcity of resources including limited funding, this has influenced how we undertake the projects that are supported by our like-minded partners. We have strived to ensure that we fall in love with all the processes as laid down in our workplans and nurture relationships between the organizations and the donors for a sustained partnership. We also ensure we deliver real projects if supported by our development partners, this helps us to be in good books with our donors and in the change-making space.

  303. Technology has positively affected my organization. We have moved to more efficient ways of doing carrying out tasks and projects. More effective and faster ways of communication.

  304. Political change has been a major factor affecting my business. The price of buying raw materials for production has become extremely difficult, we now have to minimize profit to survive.

  305. Big global issues affect the cycle of a project in all facets. Some global issues make projects easier while some make them harder. For example, technology has made project management and teamwork easy while pandemics and wars have made managing projects harder.

  306. Technology is a great advantage in making project process move smoothly and also disrupt your progress. Technology makes the process easy by making researchers gain access to useful material to make the process smooth and at the same time slow the process of your progress. Environmental factors also have a crucial role in playing for your progress with your project, it can easily influence the success of your project and also low the process especially when the environment is not favourable. It is always good measures to be taken considering the above factors for a favourable result in your project.

    1. Global issues can significantly impact project management by influencing factors like supply chain disruptions, resource availability and shifting priorities. Adapting to these challenges becomes crucial for successful project outcomes.

  307. Globalization has made trade and technology more connected and interdependent. It has hightened interactions hence caused growth in international trade, exchange of ideas, beliefs and culture.

In my organization technology has made our operations easier thereby given our projects a huge boost. However, constant change in social, political and environmental factors has always determined the progression of our projects.

Competition is inevitable in our world. It is like blood fueling the growth of an organisation and at the same time determining the capacity of the organisation. Competition has made me stronger in the job because as a Clearing agent you have to be updated always due to constant change in government policies which in turn determine how our projects will be carried out.

  308. As a project manager in the recent time, technology has made the job easier but at the same time complex because daily new problems are emerging and that challenges the project manager to alway be updated with technology and providing solutions

  309. Technology has affected my organization as we have moved from doing almost all the work manually to digital workspace making us to achieve a more faster and efficient result.
Competition-the market place is getting bigger become more organizations are being formed and so competitors are on the rise, our organization carved a niche and also a selling point to our clients, like lower interest rate if not the lower and no hidden charge, allowing even the non-illiterate , market woman have access to our products and even partnering with some companies to sell products way cheaper than market price enabling us to stand out.so Competitions has made us better and always prepared.
Social and political changes have affect it
Economically it is draining to hold the business firm but we as an organization are thinking out the box in other to meet work done and also to uphold values of the organization

  310. As a mass communication student and counselor who understands the importance of healthy communication and how it positively enhances the job of a project manager I would say we can not overemphasize the great effect we enjoy leveraging on technology. As a PM who needs to pass on information ASAP on any change the use of technology makes it easy and on time to get everyone in on new developments. To mention afew.

  311. Technology has impacted my organization positively in that clients residing in remote places or geriatrics without a caregiver can now fill their prescriptions, get counselling and monitored for adherence electronically through a medium known as Telepharmacy
However, environmental crisis have impacted health and quality of life.
Social and political issues are not left out, with the rising cases of mental health being distorted, depression.
Technological advancement have created job opportunities for my colleagues to work both remotely and on site

  312. Technology has positively affected my organization. We have moved to more efficient ways of doing carrying out tasks and projects. More effective and faster ways of communication. However, there are anticipated challenges created by these improved technologies as well which of course are under effective control

  313. The advancement of technology has helped improve how project are monitored and advanced. Technology also help manage time wel in execution of projects.Economic and environmental factors too .A lot of projects are facing financial difficulties in order to execute their projects

  314. The world currently is experiencing information overload, through Technology, Social Media , strong competition, environmental interference s etc. Thereby, eaving organisation to carve their niche by thinking outside the box and developing a Unique Selling Point to stand out. However, organizations should develop problem solving ideas as well as maintaining creativity and Innovation to withstand waterfalls amidst competition .This sustains organisational relevance and preference.

  315. The global drive toward a sustainable future has greatly affected how we undertake our projects, in the construction sector. We take into consideration the impact of our project within the environment, from the sourcing and raw materials employed to the processes engaged in their transformation

    1. Several factors such as environmental, technological and political factors has affected a whole lot of project over the year.

Political factor has affected so many project because of change of power. Once power changes existing government tends to abandon development project of the their predecessor.

Technological factor has affected projects where incompetent project manager or engineer is used to overseer the affair of a project work.

  316. Technological advancement has continuously being a blessing to my organisation and profession. It has helped to increase the efficiency of the Healthcare workers as well as reducing mortality rate.

Frequent change in government, also has influence on us as it has often led to changes in policies which can sometimes be advantageous and sometimes detrimental to us.

  317. How does the scenario in the video compare with your experience?

I am currently on multiple projects. This is because my company is trying to maximise personal due to financial challenges. This means that some disciplines don’t turn out deliverables as at when due. Management decided to hold project review session every 2 weeks with the aim of re-directing disciplines delaying the actualisation of a particular milestone to focus on them

  318. How does the stated example compare to your experience?

Compared to my experience on projects, needs arises during a project that necessitates scope creep due to changing demand or recent development or regulation

  319. Some projects I have worked on fall under both categories

    1. Linear approach: this can be seen in lump sum projects where the number of deliverables are fixed and the master document register frozen from the beginning of the project. This project must be completed within the specified time.

    2. Iterative approach: this can be seen in projects where workers on the project bill per hour and timesheets are filled. This projects are usually expected to be completed within a time frame and can exceed it depending on the need to expand the scope or introduce more deliverables

  320. Political and social change has been a major factor affecting my organization(business). The price of buying goods for sale has become unbearabe that we sell with very little profit in order not to sell at a very high price.

  321. Here’s how each of these factors may affect your initiatives:

    Technology:

  323. These global issues significantly impact project management by influencing the tools and technologies used, project strategies adopted to stay competitive, adaptation to regulatory changes and societal expectations, and incorporation of environmental sustainability practices. Project managers must be aware of these challenges and proactively address them to ensure successful project outcomes.

  324. The advancement in technology has helped improve the self-employability of people. The evolution on a global scale affects all spheres of life rapidly improving positively all sectors.

  325. It’s quite clear and needs no argument that project management is greatly affected by the world’s social problems. For instance, a project manager in charge of a digital manufacturing company needs to pay close attention to technological change to enable him or her to get profitable results. Also, competition matters a lot, aside from that most times it’s discouraging, but it also serves as a driving force for a project manager.

    1. A project manager is necessary in out society today due to the complexity of activities that need to be addressed. Social and Political Changes
The instability in the economy of Nigeria has led to massive brain drain and that alone keeps dropping the school population each term. Parent are relocating abroad with their families for a better life.
The impact of Russia-Ukraine war affected the cost of fuel which badly impacted our running expense on generated. This propelled us to embrace the use of gas to power the generating set at a reduced cost.

      1. The upheaval posed by globalization, climate changes, competition and telecommunication will serve as a wake up call for all PMs to develop the gritty approach towards every challenging situations been faced eith in the initiation, implementation and execution of projects with respect to the designated timelines of completing the project.

  326. Due to technological advancements globally, competition is on the rise in organizations/ industries, political changes, environmental problems, ..etc, we as PM must keep an eagle’s eye out in order to maximize opportunities where there are problems to solve, we look to use Pm methods whichever works in any complex situation. Problems can generally be solved still due to advancements of technology, one will have several perspective of the problem at hand.

  327. It’s clear that project management is deeply intertwined with the complex and rapidly changing global environment we live in. Here are some thoughts on how the mentioned factors can impact organizations and the projects they undertake. In the face of this complexity, project managers must be equipped with the right tools and methodologies to handle uncertainty and change. The mention of both waterfall and agile approaches is important, as they represent different ends of the project management spectrum. Waterfall is suited for projects with well-defined requirements, while agile is more adaptive and ideal for projects in which requirements evolve.

The ability to blend these methodologies and choose the right approach for a given project is a key skill for modern project managers. It’s also important to foster a culture of learning and adaptability within organizations, as the ability to respond to changes in the external environment is becoming a competitive advantage

  328. As self-employed individuals or business owners, it is crucial to stay updated on the quality of the products and services we offer. We should also keep abreast of industry news, the latest trends, and ways to enhance our offerings through technology integration, ensuring that we remain competitive. In addition, it’s essential to invest in social tools to improve our marketing skills and prevent our products from becoming obsolete.

Furthermore, in the business environment, we must learn how to navigate interactions with diverse individuals, including those who may not support our business’s success. This can be achieved through effective communication, meeting their needs, or negotiation. To thrive in the dynamic business world, ongoing self-education is vital, ensuring we stay informed and adept in handling various situations.

When dealing with competitive peers, it’s important to find strategies to make our brand more appealing and acceptable to our target audience. This proactive approach will enable us to maintain a strong position in the market.

  329. How technology, competition, social and political change and environmental crisis affects my organisation and projects

    1. Technology: technological advancement Provide opportunities to enhance project efficiency through automation and emerging tools

    2. Competition: intense competition affects organizations market positioning and necessitates strategic project adjustment

    3. Social & political change: political change leads to new regulations and compliance requirements that impacts project planning and execution

    4. Environmental crisis: environmental risk such as climate change affects the viability of projects, change in practice and resource consumption

  330. Vuca framework is a useful tool for understanding and responding to challenges. It encourages organisations to be agile, flexible, prepare for possible outcomes and be willing to experiment

  331. As a Building services Engineering practitioner, Technological advancement is a major game changer in our practice. For example, with advent of BMS (Building Management system), Smart Homes technologies etc. designs and installation of building services has greatly been impacted, therefore, organization in this practice that wants to remain technically and professionally relevant must focus on keeping abreast of this technological shift.

Environmental emergency like global warming as a result of ozone depletion has affected the code of practice ( i.e globally acceptable best practice) in our industry, a building services engineer must now bear these environmental factors in mind before taking engineering decisions/judgements in his designs/installation.

  332. As a facility manager, changes in the technology have help us in acquiring equipments that have wirk seamless and makes life easy. We have been able secure our environment by using modern cctv cameras which has impacted positively on the lives and property at the estate. There is improvement in the standard of living.
Priced changes of building materials have also affected the cost of developmental projects.
Globalization and it’s complexities have affected our estate management.

  333. As a real estate surveyor, technology has really made things easier and available in our organization, things that ordinarily take king to access are at our finger tips,Marketing, advertising, sales, negotiation and many things have been made easy and life better,so in order to keep enjoying these privileges,we have to keep updating ourselves with the latest technology.

Competition has increased since the advent of technology,if you’re not technologically sound, your competitors will take the clients who are always looking for who to deliver their job efficiently and in good time.

Policies made by the government could favour or be against us and it we must find a way of navigating around such policies through improving on ourselves inorder to be relevant in the industry.

Environmental crisis is one aspect that affects organizations, during the pandemic, alot of people lost their jobs because they were not technologically oriented and there was no way you could go to work that time because of the environmental crisis, that event has really revolutionize technology and has made people to go ICT or lose out on many opportunities,we are not there yet,but we are striving to get there.

  334. As a school in the 21st century, we constantly have to be abreast of global changes, particularly in the field of technology, because growth in technology also impacts the trajectory of different industries including the education industry.

In 2020, Coronavirus rocked the world and forever changed the way we do business and interact with society. As a school, this instilled in us the awareness that we were raising children for the future, a future that will be driven largely by technology, different from what we were raised in. We knew it was either we adapted or were left behind. A massive reorientation took place, with us embracing technology in all our activities. Today, we have digital classrooms to support students’ learning. And meetings that used to be in-person are now held virtually. Planning of school events is done in online groups, reducing the need for physical meetings.

A change in technology, or global socio-political scene, even a change in national government often has a major impact in the way organisations run and ultimately carry out projects.

  335. As someone working in a tech related company, technology has made almost everything easy and transparent. With our technology based products hospitals and medical professionals can attend to patients online, patients are also able to access effective healthcare from the comfort of their home.
Competitors help us evolve, work hard and stay up to date with trends.
Political changes- the useful of technology has also made some governments embrace it.

  336. Talking about my career in building services engineering, technological advancement has brought about the use of different of softwares for our designs. Unlike before when most architects and engineers were heavily dependent on the use of the Autocad software for their designs. However, several other softwares are vastly in use now and if any organisation in the building services industry is aspiring to still remain relevant in business, then it must ensure it equips his workforce with the right skills to be able take on jobs without hesitation.

Competition in the market is getting more fierce like never before. This is to say that myriads of organisations now jostle for fewer projects and as such creating a situation which is being tactically exploited by clients to get projects done for cheaper fees.

Changes in the political terrain also brings about uncertainties which in turn have negative impacts on the economy. All these add up to affect the budget cost of a project.

  337. Global issues such as technological changes, competition, social and political change and environmental crisis impacts my organization and projects. Technological evolution in the telecommunication industry have always put stakeholders on their toes for continuing upskill and innovations sometimes making certain specialization/skills become outdated and unsourced for.
Competition within the industry calls for improved planning/strategizing, product enhancement and constantly budding ideas to keep up with business trends. Political changes and environmental crisis are indeed other factors that keeps every project manager certain difficulty in making project decisions.

  338. Based on my Experience competition has More effect on work.
The technology which is one of the global issues has really changed my organization i.e.
The advancement in technology has helped in organization skills of most organizations and it provides an edge for the Project manager to make work neater and more reliable. Competition is a driving force for any organization to up their game and become more competent, the Project manager should leverage on social and political changes by viewing i

  340. The technology which is one of the global issues has really changed my organization i.e. before now when there is a new price of PMS in the country, auditors will go to each service stations to change price but now due to technology it is now done automatically. This new development has really eased the stress off staff and they can focus on other things.

  341. As a school, different aspects of the global issues have impacted us both positively and negatively. Our project is to continually deliver quality education to the children and satisfactory service to all stakeholders, Here are some of the impacts.
Technology: With the rapid changes in the use of technological tools in the education space, the school is kept on her toes to up her games so that teaching and learning keep up with global standards. For example, we deployed the use of a school software management system that uses A1 .It cuts across communication within and with parents, administering of CBT quizzes, lesson plans and presentation, e,t.c.

Adaptability has kept us thriving in the face of global uncertainties.

  342. How global issues such as Technology, Competition, Social and political changes and environmental crisis impacts my line of work.
Technology- my line of work being tech related, one has to be kept abreast with the latest software updates, trends, modifications to aid proper and effective maintenance and repair of high grade mobile gadgets, because with newer modifications of software applications comes even more complex software issues associated with such mobile devices and gadgets.
Competition: with the ever changing dynamics in the mode of operations in all fields of life, both individual and corporate organisations are all trying to up their game so as not to be pushed aside. The competition is at its highest and no room for falling behind. Healthy competition of course begets innovation and outside-of-the-box ingenuity which is always welcome in any field of practice.
Social and Political Changes: in a world where the government of the day is often times the “be all and say all”. Work and business environments are often shaped by government policies and agendas which could either have a positive or negative impact on the nature of projects to be undertaken, the parameters and overall considerations of factors involved in the project to be undertaken. Political instability and unfriendly government policies have to a large extent affected mode of operations, customer patronage(reduction in purchasing power due to harsh economic realities) and overall business activities.
These global issues have further strengthened the need to be more informed, equipped and better prepared in line of work so as to always be a step ahead and have a competitive edge.

    1. As automation technician, the development in technology has Indeed done a major help in reducing the complexities of components, enhanced organisation outputs with good time efficiency and less damage.
Aslo the raises of Competition has make strategies and strategic planning active in some organisation and facilitate continuous improvement.

  343. Project managers need to be flexible, that is adapting to change cause as the days goes by the world keeps evolving and need ideas and technologies are birth.

  344. There is great effects of Technology on projects along-side global issues. Automation and digital advances are shifting the normal way of handling projects away to more sophisticated analytical, technical, and managerial skills. However, proper training and more collaborative skills have to be introduce to equip workers with skills that complement the new technologies.
Political, legal, institutional, cultural, sociological technological resource, economic, financial, and physical infrastructure are environmental factors that critically affects projects.
Below are skills and critical stakeholders to consider to have a successful projects even with this Big global issues
project manager’s competence, top management support, project manager’s coordinating and leadership skills, monitoring and feedback by the participants, decision-making, coordination among project participants, owners’ competence, social condition, economic condition among others

  345. Project managers need to possess a wide variety of skills, one of such is to be adaptable or flexible to changes (technology, social and political changes, competition etc). The role of project management has become very critical.

  346. There is no way the global issues such as technology, competition, social and political change, environmental crisis will not affect but project manager needs to find a way to adapt and makr sure it does not affect the outcome of the project

  347. I have seen firsthand the effects that the changing world has on the way a company or project is managed. External factors such as the present social and technological climate greatly affect the way a project is run, because failure to keep up with these changes could lead to the wrong parameters of success being used to judge the project. And when this happens, the desired and projected results are not achieved.

    1. Thinking about these global issues such as technology, competition, social and political change, environmental crisis, well i will say these are external forces that can affect the mind because as a project manager we don’t have control over them, and at still yet these global issues can be of great opportunities or threats to an organization

  348. Thinking about global issues such as technology, competition, political change and environmental crisis, All this are external forces which a project manager don’t have control over.

To have a successful project a project manager must be able to posses a skills to managed and adapt to those forces.

  349. Thinking about global issues such as technology, competition, political change and environmental crisis influence the mind at times when it comes to managing of projects, because most of these issues don’t arise when laying down the prerequisite of a project. At the moment, the major global issue affecting my companys project has to do with competition and environmental crisis, with the season we are currently in, it’s difficult to work when you keep making changes to timeline because the weather might cloud at any given time. This is also dependent on political changes as well, with change in government come a change in plans, change in timeline, and also the almighty change in scale of preference . One government might want one project and the other will want a different one, .

  350. As a small business manager, I understand that these global issues have a direct impact on my organization and projects:

    1. **Technology**: Embracing new technologies can enhance project efficiency, communication, and customer engagement. It’s essential to stay updated with tech trends that could benefit your projects and improve your operations.

    2. **Competition**: Increased competition, especially on a global scale, can affect pricing, market share, and the need for innovation. Adapting your project strategies and keeping an eye on competitors is crucial.

    3. **Social and Political Change**: Social and political upheavals can influence consumer behavior and regulatory requirements. Being aware of these changes helps in project planning, risk assessment, and compliance.

    4. **Environmental Crisis**: Sustainability considerations can impact project design, materials, and practices. Addressing environmental concerns in your projects can align with changing societal values and regulations.

Incorporating these considerations into project management is crucial for success, as they can influence project priorities, resource allocation, and stakeholder expectations. Being flexible and responsive to the evolving global landscape is key in managing projects in a complex world.

  351. Isibhakhomen Angel Alimikhena

In Event planning the impact of technology, competition, social and political changes and environmental problems is significant and can influence various aspects of event management
*Technology: Enables event planners to reach a broader audience through the online marketing, social media, and email campaigns.
*Competition: Competition drives event planners to innovate and create unique event experiences to attract attendees.
*Social and political changes: changing social and political environment may impact event safety and security measures, such as crowd control and emergency response planning.
*Environmental problems:environmental concerns drive the demand for eco-friendly event planning, involving reduced waste, energy conservation and sustainable sourcing.
Events planners must stay attunde to these factors, adapt their strategies and consider their impact on every design, logistics and budgeting.

  352. As a business development consultant, technology has helped the space so much. There is ease of registering businesses because everything is done online including collection of certificates. The rigours have been removed, time is saved, lives are saved because prior to now, we used to drive a distance of more than two hours to and fro to process these registrations.
Because of technology, I organize business trainings online without necessarily having my audience gather in a physical event.

This however, has increased the competition in the business. A lot of people both trained and untrained are into the business of company registration. One can easily go online, learn the process and start the business though without proper coaching you will learn the hard way. The real consultants still have the edge because we do a lot more for businesses than registration.

Governance affect the social, political and environmental terrain which impacts businesses directly. When the policies are business friendly, we inform businesses through trainings about these good policies and opportunities that can help their businesses grow. When it is the other way round, you see people reluctant to do business let alone attend trainings. Businesses do badly ultimately.

  353. Technology, Competition, Social, political and environmental factors all affect projects and organizations. They affect the budget, quality and timeline of a project, and also determine if a project is valuable and acceptable to the consumer. They can either create opportunities or threats for an organization.

  354. Global issues like technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis is having significant impacts on my organisation slum regeneration authorities and their projects. Below are how they affect slum regeneration:
1.Technology: Technology has empower slum regeneration authorities with tools such as software and equipment’s for better planning, design, communication, data analysis and project immplementation and evaluation. On the other hand, rapid technological change has made us to adapt to new ones constantly, which is a big challenge and resource-constrain for the authorities.
    2. Competition: As slum regeneration projects become more crucial current issue of the day, competition for resources and support has increased. Authorities have to demonstrate their effectiveness and efficiency through public awareness, inviting NGOs/international donors, initiating public/private partnership projects and formulating policies and grassroots projects for government to secure funding and public support.
    3. Social and Political Change: Changes in social and political landscapes has affected the priorities and policies related to slum regeneration. Change in political climates has one-way or the other advance or hinder regeneration efforts, and this social dynamics has great impact on the ongoing and proposed projects of the authority.
    4. Environmental Crisis: Environmental challenges like climate change has direct effect on slum areas through flooding, extreme weather, and resource scarcity. Although, the authority intervention projects being carried out with sustainable practices in the regeneration areas is mitigating these risks.
In summary, the slum regeneration authorities is staying abreast of global issues and adapting to climatic effects and also ensuring the success and sustainability of it’s projects. It’s essential to note that the authority is flexible, innovative, and responsive to these challenges.

  355. Technology keeps evolving and this has affected the educational sector as this has brought more advanced way of transmitting knowledge to learners and better equip the tutor . And makes learning more simple, less tasking and fun.

  356. looking at the global scope today the world has come to a place everything is connected and once there is a crisis it affects everything that how close the world has become.

  357. The evolution of technology has brought a lot of changes in the human race. Today, there’s alot of competition as a result of the present of technology.

Many analogue news channels have shifted to digital news media, most businesses are online. Our phones can be used to create whatever content we want with some softwares installed in it.
As a project manager, one needs to follow the trends and innovations and not remain static. Because change is a constant thing.

However, the global crisis has brought unrest to many nations. Russian and Ukraine has been at the war front with one another for almost nine months, not to forget Israel and Hamas recent war crisis as well. All these issues has affected many nations, their businesses and professions badly.

Currently, naira has depreciated. The cost of living is high in Nigeria to be precise, people are surviving by grace. All these issues have brought about social and political changes and has affected my organization and current project poorly.

  358. as a digital financial personnel competition has really helped evolve the digital industry especially in Liberia where it is a two horse race but the biggest winner is mtn Liberia with 65% of the market share. more over competition have lead to more addition of services to the system….

  359. Current global crisis from Russia/Ukraine war to the war between Israel/Hamas has caused hike in gas prices and food. This hike and shortages cause an automatic escalation in cost of good in Nigeria thereby affecting small businesses. However, technology has provided ways in which businesses and people can mitigate this risks and loss, by providing access to information when needed, simplified modes of accessing information.

  360. The advent of Technology has made execution of projects easy compare to days of less technological development, Technology enhances work and help to minimize time and resources used in executing a project.
Polical changes affect project management in a bad way especially the developing African countries, where government changes policies without considering the effects of the decision on the economy, thereby affecting the execution of projects

  361. Technology has made great advancement to every organisation that embraces. With Technology, improvement becomes easier. With everyday competitors/competition, you can rely on Technology to meet up with current trends and competition in your industry.

  362. Global issues such as technology could affect my organisation as we benefit from the breakthrough of technology. Jobs that are done manually are now done with the help of technology. Where we face challenge in competing with technology, we develop new products and services that have kept us in business.

Political changes/decisions affect organisations. The policies they implement often affect how organisation runs. Because of the inconsistent nature of politics, we monitor legislative bills closely to prepare for potential changes. There were times when contracts were either terminated or tanked as a result of political change(s).

Social factors such as where people live, personal values and social status affect what, where and why people make decisions. We take social factors into consideration when developing our services.

Competition as factor can be ruled out completely. Some organisations around engage in the same line of business. What we do is to ensure our services are topnotch to stay relevant to our customers. We identify and evaluate our successes and challenges, thereby learning what to incorporate into our processes and how to prevent revenue loss.

    1. Environment challenges particularly climate change is an issue in my field (agriculture) and technology has also come a long way to solving some of the challenges. For instance deploying climate smart agriculture.
In some cases, social issues like farmers-herdsmen clashes cause some level of disruption in farm project

  363. As a business owner, we’ve taken environmental crisis into account as the company is being steered into producing environmentally friendly products. This means that different projects and systems were developed to reduce our impact on the environment with the new products.

    1. As an entrepreneur, an issue such as social and political change highly affects the movement of the market. This is because such change can determine the price of a product sold due to inflation or deflation of prices.

    2. It’s important to note that technology itself is neutral; it can be used for both positive and negative purposes. The impact on development and war depends on how it is harnessed and regulated by governments, organizations, and individuals; competition on the other hand is the fuel to Innovation. The absence of competition will lead to impoverishment, monopoly and consumption of inferior and harmful products.

  364. As a development practitioner, big global issues, such as technology, competition, social and political change, and the environmental crisis affect my Organization in the development sector and my projects in the following ways:

    1. Technology is rapidly changing the way organizations work in the development sector. The use of digital tools and platforms has become increasingly important for managing projects, communicating with stakeholders, and collecting data. However, keeping up with the latest technology can be expensive and time-consuming, which can impact an organization’s ability to deliver effective programs.

    2. The development sector is becoming increasingly competitive, with many organizations vying for limited resources. Competition can lead to increased pressure on organizations to deliver results quickly and efficiently, which can sometimes result in corners being cut or programs being rushed.

    3. Social and political changes can impact the development sector in many ways, including impacting the availability of funding, changing the needs of communities, and shifting the priorities of governments and donors. Organizations must remain agile and be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

    4. The environmental crisis is a critical issue facing the world, and it has significant implications for the development sector. Climate change, natural disasters, and environmental degradation can all impact the effectiveness of development programs. Organizations must consider the impact of environmental issues on their projects and work to incorporate sustainability into their programs.

  365. A PM must have to embrace the complexities of this ever changing world in regards to technology, competition, social and political change, and the humanitarian/environmental crisis etc A PM has to master skills of approaching projects from different angles in whatever context presented to them. With a mindset of ‘change’, you are bound to adapt to whatever situation with your ethics to guide you through

  367. With the break-out of corona virus which makes everyone to think outside the box and which led to the new normal work environment, it affected my office and the way we worked, so we have to device another way of seeing our customers to complete our various businesses with them.

With the advent of technology especially in software development, we had to change our way of sending physical statement of account to clients to online, customers get their statements via email and any enquiry or complaints are being sent via the software, hence the use of paper reduced drastically and invariable reduce our cost of operation including payroll cost as we had to cut down staff strength.

  368. Change in new technology, social and political change, competition etc. can affect how projects functions and deliverables in terms of deadline, as the global issues have affects every organizations.

    – New Technology: With change in new technologies, there are vast opportunities for every organization to key into the innovation as it gives you an edge and increases productivity.

    – Social and Political Change: This can affect any organization as new policies and societal values can disrupt an ongoing project.

    – Competition: Every organization faces competition and for one to excel, you have to improve your products or services.

  369. As social development actor, our project change people daily life, and that impact us as well. The cases of human rights violations we deal with on a daily basis do indeed reflect the complexity of human beings, of crisis and therefore of the world we live in.

  370. As a student union leader, I need to consider how major global issues impact our organization and the projects we undertake. Here’s how these issues affect us:

    1. Technology: The rapid advancement of technology has a significant impact on how we engage with students, manage events, and communicate. Embracing digital tools and platforms is crucial to enhance our outreach, improve member engagement, and streamline administrative processes.

    2. Competition: Increased competition among student organizations means we must be more innovative and strategic in our project planning. We need to differentiate our initiatives to attract and retain student members.

    3. Social and Political Change: Shifts in social and political dynamics can influence student interests and priorities. Staying aware of these changes is essential for aligning our projects with the evolving needs and concerns of our student community.

    4. Environmental Crisis: Environmental concerns, like sustainability and climate change, are becoming increasingly important for student organizations. Incorporating eco-friendly practices and projects into our activities aligns with global environmental goals and resonates with environmentally conscious students.

In light of these factors, I must stay informed, adapt to change, and use project management approaches that are responsive to uncertainty and shifting dynamics in the educational and social environment. We may need to balance traditional project management methods with agile approaches to remain adaptable and effective in a complex and ever-changing world.

  371. As an employee in fabrication firm, technology has greatly improved and increase our daily work efficiency as most of our equipment’s were base on mechanized. It alters the culture by providing more real-time data on the performance of equipment in the field today, allowing fabricators to consider improvements that can be achieved in months through data algorithms rather than years or decades.

    1. In the real estate industry, challenges such as environmental crisis, stiff competition, technological advancement, political shifts, have had positive and negative impacts in my organization and how project planning becomes effective.

Environmental crisis is a huge challenge in the real estate industry. For instance, during the raining season, a many housing projects were put on hold due to flooding in certain strategic locations that has been mapped as high yield for futuristic investment by clients. To solve this issue, the company resort to creating channels to ease passage of floods and extra sand filling. This creates an additional costs.

Political shifts also adversely affect the company by policy changes whereby acquired properties were revoked causing unsettling issues between the company and investors.

Technology advancement have helped the real estate market to boost up and reach wider audience via digital marketing, branding exposure, AI usage for content writing, etc. More clients have the option to choose from varieties of properties listed on the website.

  372. In the Nigerian IT industry, Technology has had a major impact on the Nigerian IT industry and projects, both positively and negatively. On the positive side, technology has made it easier for companies to collaborate on projects, and has allowed them to reach a wider audience. Additionally, new technologies like cloud computing and AI have allowed for faster and more efficient project management. On the negative side, the high cost of technology has made it difficult for some companies to keep up with the latest developments, and cyber security issues have also posed a challenge. However, overall, the benefits of technology have outweighed the drawbacks for the Nigerian IT industry.

Competition: Competition has had a major impact on the Nigerian IT industry and projects. In recent years, there has been an influx of foreign companies and investors into the Nigerian IT market, which has led to increased competition. This has been both positive and negative for the industry. On the positive side, competition has led to innovation and improved services. However, it has also led to price wars and a race to the bottom, which has made it difficult for some companies to stay afloat. Additionally, the increased competition has led to a brain drain, as some of the best and brightest IT professionals have left Nigeria to work in other countries.
Social and political change:Social and political change has had a profound effect on the Nigerian IT industry and projects. The recent economic and political challenges in Nigeria have led to a decrease in funding for IT projects, which has had a negative impact on the industry. Additionally, political instability has led to insecurity and a lack of trust in the government, which has made it difficult for companies to plan for the future and invest in IT projects. However, despite these challenges, the Nigerian IT industry has continued to grow and innovate, and there is still a lot of potential for growth in the future.

  373. Challenges such as environmental crisis, political instabilities especially has contributed to our organizational problem of goods distribution and supplies.

  374. Global issues like technology advancements, heightened competition, social and political shifts, and the environmental crisis significantly impact organizations and projects in the organization where I work as an RF Engineer

Technology: Rapid technology changes demand constant adaptation, requiring projects to integrate new tools and processes, impacting project timelines and resource allocation.
For example, 4G Technology is gradually phasing out, and 5G is the latest technology

Competition: Intense global competition means organizations must stay agile. Projects need to align with market trends and customer demands to maintain a competitive edge.
The Information Technology industry changes rapidly, in other to remain relevant, Organization needs to change most of their infrastructure to compete.

Social and Political Change: Evolving regulations and social dynamics can affect project planning and execution, necessitating adaptability and awareness of diverse stakeholder needs. The price of dollar now has affected a lot the prices of equipments used in projects.

Environmental Crisis: Sustainability concerns are paramount. Projects must consider reducing environmental footprints, adopting green technologies, and complying with eco-regulations, adding complexity and cost.

In this changing landscape, organizations and projects must be flexible, innovative, and socially and environmentally responsible. Adapting to technology advancements, embracing diversity, and addressing sustainability are essential for long-term viability. Meeting these challenges head-on can lead to enhanced resilience and success in an ever-changing world.

  375. Truly we are in a complex world and the world is rapidly changing. Technology a greater influence on the world has impacted and holds the greater percentage of the changes we have and would still have in the world.
As a PM, you need to evolve, continue professional development as the world evolves else you can get outdated. Other factors that have effect on projects are political instability due to change of government which causes changes in policies and one government favouring one to the other. Lack of investors resulting in an increase in exchange rate also affect negotiations with project sponsors …. To emerge and be successful as a PM you need to evolve and be up to date. Be friend with every government and many more

  376. Technology plays a vital role when it comes to the society and this has made PMs finds their works more easily than before. someone can actually go online with the knowledge of tech and get almost all you want, for example, ChatGPT can solve almost everything we needed when it comes to handling of project.
Also, political changes had a negative way on the PMs because favoritism of someone not belonging to my political parties had make most PMs lost their and incompetency is now all over all in the name of favoring someone they are acquitted to.

  377. Technology play a vital role in my projects because it makes work to be easily done.
Competition Most times ,competition affects project. For instance, if there are different competitors on the same line of business or project, it could prevent the growth of the business.Competion create an opportunity for someone to be more innovative, creative and bring out the best at what he/she does.

  378. The global economy, and political world has an influence on our work as PMs. Although, with the current changes and growth in tech development, we can be able to harness and get more informations needed for a task through rigorous online research.

  379. For every project manager, I think technology has made it a bit simple to get your project done in the complex world we live in today because it is a level playing ground for everyone in carrying out the project, you get access to information on the project you want to embark on at the same time you have to be very careful most especially when on the internet in sorting out for the information you required for your project not to get into security theft by scammers.

competition is a serious issue when it comes to project management because you have to be creative and sensitive to things happening around you and don’t ignore every little idea you get or that flies around I always go back to the drawing board to juster pose on how to become best at what I do and don’t s
