Constant communication is the key. Getting feedbacks, contribution, suggestions etc but also, tailoring or adjusting your communication to the person in front of you is very vital because individuals are different and
they see or think in a different way. Lastly, bringing evidence and data to what you are communicating is crucial and important so that the stakeholders knows how serious, prepared and organized you are.
As a student, I work a lot with other students in group projects and lab reports. When someone is not doing their part of the work, as a team leader I need to:
First analyze the situation and make a communication plan, is the workload too challenging for this member, was he/she not aware of the project deadline, is he or she going through something personally?
After gathering all the possible factors I would communicate with empathy and offer possible solutions to the situation, after which I will be tracking the progress(getting feedback).
If the matter still continues then I would need the team to intervene so we can all work together and finish the project before the deadline.
The key point is communication and the importance following up on given feedback.
As a good project manager, constant communication is essential to know if there is any change in plan or something to be added in project. Also, a written down communication plan is important to know the key messages to communicate with stakeholders and team so as to get feedback for effective running of a project.
As a project Manger, communication is essential and should be constant amonhst stakeholders. This helps build trust and also increases their engagement in a particular project. A project manager should be able to share both good and bad information, this could in turn proffer a way to tackle challenges if encountered thereby leading to the success of the project.
As a project manager, you don’t need to be afraid of sharing bad news, always communicate the progress and blocker if any with stakeholders and clients. It’s also good idea to come up with possible solutions to the blockers.
It should be noted that the stakeholders are very important in project management thus they need to be kept abreast of all important aspects of the project by communicating effectively with them.
Stakeholders are crucial to the project , as a result they should through effective communication be informed of the current state of affairs in the organization wether good or otherwise, so as to have idea of what to expect.
Communication is important in our daily life, it helps us to pass information or ideas to people. The different modes of communication helps us to know how to pass or get information through to the target audience. We need to know what mode of communication is best suited to pass information to different people and also to get their feedback to know if they are getting the right level of information. It also enables us to foresee problems and know how to provide a solution to those problems.
As a project manager, we need to be wary of our choice of communication skills when dealing with stakeholder because different stakeholder with different orientation and exposure.
