Communicating with stakeholders is crucial in the sense that it helps the PM have a better understanding of their ideas. Also, as a PM have people oriented skills, action skills, etc, as this will help in carrying the stakeholders along.
Consistency in communication with stakeholders in any project as a project manager facilitates free flow and proper understanding between stakeholder and the project manager.
As a project manager it’s important to communicate regularly with stakeholders to achieve the desired goals whereby I have to be concise and transparent about issues which helps to build trust and relationships with stakeholders. Moreover, one has to gather feedbacks to understand what is happening in the room incase there may be need for change in direction or addressing matters arising to align with the timeframe previously specified.
In my context, doing what works best for you and your client is very important. Quite a few strategies really stood out as practical and effective. For example, the emphasis on clear communication resonates deeply — ensuring everyone is aligned on goals, timelines, and expectations prevents unnecessary confusion down the line. Another strategy is that Project Managers care about the message they’re conveying. Also, don’t wait until your asked, always send in your report so everyone understands the level of progress done so far.
Lastly, don’t be afraid of bad news but yea a Project Managers, you must learn how to handle bad news and how to bring such bad news to the table.
