What I’ve learnt from this session is that communicating effectively with stakeholders makes things go smoothly with few bumps here and there (which could be resolved). Reporting back to the team also gives a better structure of doing things, this gives good idea on how far the project is getting done or what still needs to be done. As a PM running away from bad news is not a good way of responding, instead face the news head on, that way you can come up with a solution.

Communicating with stakeholders as a project manager is very essential. A written communication plan would be best and it is also important to tailor communications to individual stakeholders, understanding the kind of person they are, and communicating with them in that way, be it analytical, innovative or people oriented individuals. As a PM, I cannot runaway from bad news, what I can do is that I can meet with them on an individual note, first time talk about the situation on ground, while having a solution or being open to a way forward.
Having a communication plan is very crucial when it comes to communicating with stakeholders. Always document your progress, changes and additional information. Don’t be afraid to break bad news and always figure out a solution to any issues or problems.

Lack of Communication bridge a gap of conflict. Therefore, communication is a vital and essential skills needed to ensure the smooth running of the organization. As a PM, the ability to stand firm in face of difficult distinguished you from others. Therefore, even in a bad and worst situation, one must confront it and proffer a solution to it. Be it written or spoken, the ability to brainstorm with your colleagues and negotiate on the project makes communication an essential tools in determining the success of that project
Communication allows the project manager to know the minds of the stakeholders and it must be an effective communication,which is of important in business conversation.
A documented communication plan is very important as a project manager. Any information communicated to the clients should be in a way that is easy to use or understand. Also individual discussion with each of the stakeholders is also important.
My big takeaway will be that it is important to have a written plan of your communication and tailor your communication style to the person in from of you.
