Effective communication is top most important for a Project Manger. Pass information and give feedback. It helps to note progress and success of the project.
Without effective communication, it would be challenging to organize tasks, create schedules, share ideas and take action. It is crucial for people in leadership positions to understand that they have a responsibility to train their employees on how best to communicate both internally and externally.
Stakeholders must be informed and not just communicated to. For communication in Project Management to be effective, it must :
– be constant (regular communication results in updated vision for all)
– be planned (different methods of communication should be used based on the individuality of the stakeholder)
– be written with room given for feedback.
– use communication style based on the stakeholder’s orientation (e.g. give details to an analytic person and use a futuristic approach with an innovator.)
In the school I teach, communication is so important, not just with the students, but with other teachers and the management body.
knowing how to deliver information depending on who you need to do so with is key. not every person takes in or processes information the same way, so “tailoring your communication skills to who is in front of you” is always a great advice
Communicating with stakeholders is an ongoing process that requires effort and commitment. Effective communication with stakeholders is essential for any organization that wants to be successful.
As a Project Manager, you have to be intentional about promoting a culture of open communication and feedback.

Effective communication is an essential skill for every Project Manager. It is important to be in constant communication with the clients and the stakeholders when handling a project. In my organizational context, I will adopt the following under listed strategies to communicate effectively with the team:
1. Accurate planning of the communication with the stakeholders. this will enable me to pass the right message across and keep them updated on the status of the project.
2. Understanding the style of communication: I will also ensure that I build relationship with not just the stakeholders so as to understand their style of communication and be able to tailor my communication to the right channel.
3. Letting go of fear: I will ty as much as possible not to be afraid to break the bad news during a stakeholder’s meeting after seeing each one of the stakeholders privately to intimate them of what is currently happening with the project so that they will not be caught unawares.

One skill that has popped up a couple of times thus far is the PM’s communications skills: his dexterity in handling knotty issues and providing solutions that work.
A Project Manager is saddled with the responsibility of providing that rallying point: that focal point.
Another thing that struck me is the “how” to break a bad news.
The fact that the Project Manager should handle it professionally by talking to Major stakeholders individually first to (reduce the impact of a dropped bomb) , before breaking the news in front of a full house. Then, personally, i think the timing of this should be well-thought out. The time between when the news is broken to individual stakeholders and when it is taken to the full house should be considered.
It’s important to let everyone on the table to know the level of progress of the project particularly if there are key risks that need to be escalated outside the organization for support.
Timely communication is very key
