  7. open and transparent communication with stakeholders is of paramount importance. Our stakeholders include government agencies, healthcare providers, patients, and community organizations, all of whom have a vested interest in our public health initiatives. By maintaining clear and honest communication channels, we can build trust, share vital information, and ensure that our initiatives are aligned with their expectations and needs. Regular meetings, reports, and feedback mechanisms help facilitate this transparent exchange of information.

Customizing messages is another vital strategy in our public health organization. Different stakeholder groups, such as medical professionals, policymakers, and the general public, require tailored messages to suit their diverse needs and levels of technical understanding. For example, when communicating about a new healthcare intervention, we provide detailed scientific documentation to medical professionals while offering simplified, jargon-free information to the public, focusing on the benefits and safety aspects of the intervention.

For example, my boss was very difficult for me to handle in the beginning because she wanted me to approach matters relating to teachers in a militant manner. She wants reports on the spur of the moment and I found myself not measuring up to her expectations.

Now, I’ve learned to be proactive and prepare reports that I deem necessary before she needs them. I’ve also managed our conflict about teachers by working directly with my direct subordinates to carry out their duties more effectively so that I don’t have to deal directly with the teachers at all.
