  1. As an IT/ Product Support, I have both oral and written communication for my interactions with stakeholders. Oral communication passes the message across but written communication is used when I need to have a documentation of what discussion we had, what we agreed on, what their response was, the day we had the discussion.
    This is then reported back to the project manager of my team.

  2. As a project manager, I need to plan communication, using the stakeholders’ map and creating a communication plan. I need to be in regular contact with all stakeholders -sponsors, team members, etc.- and adjust my communication style with the stakeholders. Reporting is also essential

    In conformity assessment practice, certain pieces of information are pretty straight forward and easy to put forward to stakeholders but the tricky ones mostly revolve around discussions that involve identified risks with significant negative impact on expected outcomes .

As a Techpreneur, especially developing software solutions, communicating to and with stakeholders is key – at the beginning stage known as Eliciation – the Requirement phase, communication must clear and forward with precise details. Engaging at every level using all methods possible is very important to avoid costly assumptions.

In my case the methods suggested in the video is needed because communication as a Clearing and Forwarding agent is depending on the stakeholder in question. Individual way of comprehending report or handling task differs. So update or regular communication is done depending on the stakeholder.

  10. In my experience, early and truthful communication even for bad news builds trust and helps in cases where timelines have to be adjusted. It is important to know the communication style of each stakeholder and tailor your messages accordingly.
