The role of communication in project timelines and deliverables can never be overemphasize. Therefore, effective communication with those involved is constantly required for effective delivery of my project engagement.
Proper communication keeps the stakeholders updated with a better understanding and builds dialogue, trust and a better relationship. It helps to set and manage project expectations with improved information flow.
For me, I think regular communication, discussing difficulties and progress will enable adequate feedback that will help accomplish tasks as arranged.
What am trying to say is regular communication and review with stakeholders and client will give an inside on how to work with the team towards accomplishing projects at the expected time. This can only be possible when difficulties encounter are pointed out, analyse as manifested and possible solutions provided. Progress should also be discussed. This will energize the team to meet up with the client demands
For me constant and regular communication of short comings, reviews and progress of the project in written and verbal form through meetings and other forms of inter personal communications mediums with all stakeholders is the best approach to ensuring commitments and effective feedback. This I believe will help in determining critical issues early and proffer solutions.
As a leader must communicate and most of the communication must be ethical, morale and not forgot inter-social communication so as to welcome stakeholders close and open so as to know the team better
All instruction to the stall and project employees both need ethical communication skill
For me effective communication is one of the primary key as a Project manager. Communicating the progress of the project to my client/stakeholders and in turn getting their feedback which reassures me of the commitment and support to the project cannot be over emphasized. This will help is giving a soft landing when there are problems or critical issues that need their input and then come up with the solutions on the way forward for the project to have a setback before, during, and after the project.
I find that implementing a well-defined communication strategy is crucial when interacting with clients. Having a written plan right before the client’s arrival allows for a structured and organized approach to the meeting. It ensures that key points are covered, goals are set, and potential challenges are anticipated.
Moreover, seeking client feedback is integral to fostering a collaborative and client-centric approach. By actively soliciting their input, I can gain valuable insights into their expectations, preferences, and any concerns they might have. This feedback loop not only enhances the overall client experience but also demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
Therefore, combining a pre-established written plan with a feedback-oriented communication approach aligns well with the strategies suggested by project managers. It facilitates a more efficient, client-focused, and adaptable communication process, ultimately contributing to successful client interactions.
Communication is a key component of my job here at the Maxy facility hence a constant one to ensure that all the stakeholders are on the same page with me is the only way to have a fruitful day at work.
A summary of a few tips given here that work for my job assignment are as follows:
1. There must be communication with all lines of control and it must be tailored to the person in front of you
2. You must have a written communication plan (this is a new one for me, all thanks to DEXA)
3. Have regular contact with those on the ground; keep your ears on the ground as well to listen for pushbacks, resistance, etc.
4. Get feedback
5. Never be afraid to bring bad news to the table but certainly not at a first meeting
6. Always analyse the issues and try to have solutions when engaging the stakeholders.
Communication is a very important tool when carrying out projects. ‘Carrying along’ various stakeholders in the projects gives the feeling of being important (of course they are).
Constant communication gives the stakeholder the real impression that the projects are ongoing and not left unattended to.
Communication helps you to know if there is time lag in project deliverables and what is needed to be done to not only meet shareholder(s)’ expectations but also to exceed it.
Reporting is a very key component of communication.
Regular meetings (virtual and/or physical), whichever is suitable for the project is very key in communicating.
It’s key to know your client, so you understand the communication style that will suit them. Reporting and giving them the right amount of information is what will help keep the channel of discussion and the project smooth.
