  1. Based off the project managers’ respective points, I think I strongly relate to the aspect of not delivering bad news collectively but individually. So that when eventually, the bad news is delivered collectively, the impact isn’t as severe, since everyone has already been informed on various levels.

As a Quality Assurance officer in a food-based company, when there’s a deviation from a required standard, the first line of action is often to communicate to the production workers to figure out what’s wrong, simply because they are basically in charge of the mixing process. Oftentimes, the problems could be fixed by so doing. However, only when the problems persist is the line manager then informed on the situation of things.

So yes, I agree that the level of communication for the various stakeholders differ. Thus, a good project manager need to be well-versed in speaking in the language that the stakeholders would understand.

  2. Effective Communication is essential as a project manager.
There’s is need for constant update and feedback about the progress of the project,so the stakeholders are not caught off guard.

P.M need to to update stakeholders on every detail of the project so they know where there’s progress and where theirs need for immediate adjustment,

So Communication and giving report of the progress of the project is essential.

  3. The strategy suggested by the project managers that apply well to me in my situation within my organizational context are communication and time management.
Communication so I have learned is one of the keys to enabling us to foresee problems. The project manager needs to constantly communicate with clients alongside his project team. There should be a routine communication written down and pattern to which informations can be disseminated within the project and it’s team members and also a plan, so as to know what to say to stakeholders. For someone (client) who is analytical, bring in information through data as evidence of the ongoing work being done.

In the aspect of time management, realistic time schedule should be set for every member of the project team so as to meet with the projects deadline. Project managers should not be afraid to relay bad news, but should always be on the lookout for possible solutions to a problem by trashing issues and facing challenges as they may come during the course of carrying out a project.

  4. For me, I believe regular communication that has being well planned and analysed will work well for me. Communication is key but if not well drafted and communicated or transmitted through the right chain could lead to issues of misinformation and misinterpretation of ideas and suggestions.

  5. Communicating with stakeholders plays a vital role in the success of the project. It will allow the flow of information so that everyone stays up to date. All the stakeholders are not the specialists in the project components and processes, that’s why timely (regular) communicstion with allow them to know how the processes are going on and help them to be involved actively in all steps of the project without confusion.

  6. Effective communication is one of the primary key as a Project manager. Communicating the progress of the project to my client/stakeholders and in turn getting their feedback which reassures me of the commitment and support to the project cannot be over emphasized. stakeholder communication is the correspondence among all of the people invested in a project or business

  7. +Daily speak with the stakeholders ensuring that everyone is carried along during the project.
+Communicate with clients and stakeholders when planning changes or additional input into the project different from initial plan.
+Write down communication plan with the stakeholders and also get feedback from them to assess the progress of the work.
+Make regular contact with team on ground, show concern, care and likewise inspire others.
+Let everyone understand the level of progress being made in the project.
+Never bring bad news at the first time to avoid discouragement.
+But don’t be afraid to bring bad news on the table to ensure issues are addressed to bring possible solutions.

  8. In the video, the project managers emphasized the importance of adapting communication styles to different stakeholders.
In my role as a Customer Solutions Advisor, this strategy holds relevance given the diverse range of customers and stakeholders I interact with daily.
Working in the banking sector, I regularly engage with individual customers, small businesses, and corporate clients. Each of these groups has distinct communication preferences and expectations. Individual customers might prefer digital updates, while business clients may require more detailed and personalized communication.
One strategy from the video that resonates with my role is the need to tailor communication styles based on stakeholder preferences. For example, when assisting individual customers with account-related queries, some prefer reaching out via digital channels like email or physical letters while others may prefer a more traditional phone call. Adapting to these preferences enhances the quality of communication and customer satisfaction.
Consider a scenario where a business client has recently implemented a new financial solution offered by the bank. Through previous interactions, I have discovered that the business owner appreciates regular, concise updates on account activities. In response, I’ve adjusted my communication approach to provide a monthly summary report with key metrics and insights. This ensures that the client receives information in a format that aligns with their preferences and facilitates a more efficient exchange of information. The rationale behind employing this strategy is rooted in the desire to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction. By recognizing and respecting the diverse communication preferences of stakeholders, I contribute to building strong, positive relationships with the bank’s clients. This, in turn, supports the bank’s commitment to providing a personalized and customer-centric experience.
While adapting communication styles is crucial, challenges may arise, such as navigating the diverse preferences of a corporate client’s team or managing time constraints. To address these challenges, I proactively seek feedback, clarify expectations, and leverage the bank’s resources to ensure effective communication tailored to each stakeholder’s needs.
The strategy of tailoring communication styles based on stakeholder preferences is applicable in my role. This approach not only supports the bank’s commitment to customer satisfaction but also contributes to the overall success of our customer relationships and the achievement of their financial goals.
