  4. Having good communication skill is tantamount for a project manager. The most difficult part of communication is communicating bad news to stakeholders. There was a time in my organization that a project was been carried out. It was going smoothly until the supplies got damaged in an accident. The project manager having gotten first hand knowledge of this disaster, made a move that shocked me as explained by the last male speaker in the video, he called all the stakeholders at the company to inform them individually. When we finally had a meeting, solutions starting pouring in from all angles because everyone was already aware of the bad news before the meeting commenced. What it did was to give them time to think and absorb their energies for the meeting.

  5. Communication with stakeholders is a cornerstone of successful project management. It involves understanding their needs, providing clear updates, and managing expectations. Regular meetings and status reports inform stakeholders about project progress, potential risks, and upcoming milestones. Tailoring communication styles to different stakeholders helps ensure the message is well-received.

Moreover, being receptive to feedback and addressing concerns promptly builds trust. Effective communication involves conveying information and actively listening to stakeholders’ perspectives. Establishing open channels is essential, allowing stakeholders to voice their opinions and contribute to decision-making processes. This collaborative approach fosters a sense of ownership and commitment among stakeholders, enhancing the likelihood of project success.

  6. Communication is the bed rock of the success of every organization. I work in a psych facility and one of the major thing we are taught is proper communication with clients and staff in other to be able to de-escalate any chaotic situation. Like the first man in the video narrated that project managers should communicate with stakeholders any issues they are having or the progress of the project life cycle, with that they can decipher what issues they need to resolve and what they are lacking in the process of the project and provide it. Just like scrum masters 15mins meeting to discuss the progress of the their work and what impediment they are facing, that seems to delay the sprint release so should project managers have a discussion with stakeholders and figure out what issues they have and what can be done to help complete the project in a timely manner. One more thing to note is that you can always get feedback from stakeholders as a result of constant communication with them, they will be able to identify some areas that the project managers cannot see.

Everyone has different communication styles but this should be simple and possible for everyone understanding. In an organisation engaging the stakeholders is very essential in giving feedback to know what next on line, if there is no effective communication there will be a gap between the clients, peers, sponsor and team. It is therefore important to keep accurate communication in a life cycle for any project to succeed.
