Being a volunteer, communicating with stakeholders has helped a lot. We know who to talk to, when to talk to them, and how to talk to them.
In my organization having a clear communication road map, I.e when to talk to who, where and when to receive feedback etc would help increase the efficiency in our delivery of projects
Open Line of communication with different stakeholder’s has helped me achieved greatly in my career journey, not only is project management is this important; but in all business dealings, Clear communication at the required time, strategic communication with ethics and business culture is an healthy practices for business progress and sustainability. A great Project manager must use this as a weapon to record a success in his/her projects
As a good project manager that really knows the onions of his or her work, communication is paramount. Especially constructive one with the stakeholders.
Most times it is better to jot down points for discussion for quick reminder and to be on point of ones game.
Bad news should be dealt with wisely to lead to strength of the stakeholders and not to weaken them.
Communication rightly and on time with the stakeholders will help to bring about as much as possible a smooth progress and running of the project for a solid and sound completion.
Communication is a very vital skill for a good project manager, ability to communicate both good and bad news constructively can be an effective tool with the team or stakeholders.
When managing a project, it is important to maintain communication with the stakeholders as their opinions can potentially make or mar the proceedings of such project. The style of delivery is also quite important, I believe this is due to different personalities traits. It is the duty of a good project manager to know his/her stakeholders and address them accordingly.
Constant communication as well as communicating the good and bad news constructively can be an effective tool between the project manager and the team, including the client
Communication strategies that can be adopted for effective project management include:
1. Have a written down communication plan that shows who you plan to talk to and the message you plan to deliver.
2. Tailor your communication style to the preference of your audience.
Communication is so vital between you and the stakeholders. It gives assurance and confidence that the project is moving forward and this build trust as well.
For me Communication is an important key for a successful project,
As a project manager you should ensure a constant communication with the sponsors, project team and stakeholders, with this getting to know their various fields, strength and weakness before and during execution of the project is key.
