As a project manager in a healthcare institution, there is the need to establish regular communication channels such as meetings, emails, and newsletters to keep stakeholders informed about project updates, milestones, and any relevant developments. This consistent flow of information fosters trust and transparency, allowing stakeholders to feel involved and engaged in the project.
Effective communication is very important and highly required of a project manager. Communication enables project managers to foresee problems and prompt informing of the stakeholders is a key role of the project manager. If information is provided to stakeholders in a way that is easy to use, this will enhance their engagement with the project as well as keep the stakeholders in loop at every step of the project. The role of communication in project management can not be over-emphasized. The success or failure is hinged on how effective the communication strategy is. It begins with having a plan (preferably written); the project manager has to first decide what communication style/methods or channels would be effective for the project based on the teams’ peculiarity and the dynamics of the task ahead. This plan must be flexible enough to adapt to the different phases and needs of the project being undertaken per time.
The message/information being passed across must be clear and concise to all the stakeholders at all times and there should be a proper feedback channel to ensure everyone is being carried along adequately.
Reporting is also very key to appraising the different phases of the project to mitigate issues promptly when they arise. Reviews and feedback should be guided so as not to derail the project or cause unprecedented delays.

For example, in my role as a Government Relations Assistant at One Acre Fund, maintaining positive relationships with local government officials and community stakeholders is vital. Transparency and trust in communication contribute significantly to successful government relations and community engagement.
As a project manager it is important to build communication skill because this help you communicate as a team lead and also a professional to your client. You must know how to handle certain situations and present them to stakeholders. Be it favorable situations or unfavorable ones. Master the communication tone of every stakeholder and communicate in like manner.
