  1. Communicating with stakeholders should be in-context detailing required updates and information on successive steps to achieve the desired objective of the client. It should leave no detail back so that possible adjustment can be mutually agreed upon.

  2. The three managers said so many important facts. Effective communication is the key. I also learnt that as a project manager, don’t be afraid to bring a bad news but also come up with a solution.

  3. In my organizational context, I am currently handling a project of the remodeling of the surgical floor of a hospital. The tips shared that work for me are: providing daily reports on progress made, and making sure to include all deviations from the original plan that are likely to impact the budget and timeline. My client is an analytical person and as such empirical data backed with videos have to be submitted alongside the report. Also, with respect to sharing bad news, I have had to consistently analyze the situation and ensure that I do not communicate a roadblock without discussing alternatives that can be immediately explored while indicating how these alternatives would impact the budget and the timeline of the project, I use a communication platform that allows all stakeholders to view the report at the same time although one-on-one engagement is essential for keeping everyone motivated,

    It’s also important to have individual meetings with all stakeholders to understand them better.
    Never start conversations with a bad news.

    It will aid adjustments where needed, resolve conflicts where outlined, keep everyone well informed and ensure that the goals are not missed.

    These can be achieved by setting up meetings with stakeholders, sponsor, team members and everyone else involved and also, by keeping all the communication channels open and ensure the information reaches the appropriate bodies on time.

At every stage of the project, it is important to communicate and give report on the progress of the work done and if there be any issues or lapses it can be quickly resolved to avoid delay as time management also plays an important role.

I particularly always scared of bringing the bad news to the table rather finding solutions to it, a times I fall behind the timeline… Frequent communication with all parties involved will build trust and confidence for a successful project

And don’t be afraid to bring any necessary news to the table being it good or bad because one of the roles of a project manager is to make sure issues are addressed and solved.
