I believe a project manager should not be afraid of sharing the bad news about a certain issue in the project but don’t always carry bad news everyday, sponsors are sensitive
Communication is key. And as a PM, you must be in constant communication with the stakeholders about the progress, changes and any extra equipment needed or used for the project. A PM must have a written down communication plan and must not be afraid to bring bad news for possible solutions.
In my organization context, I believe that good communication is what built a good relationship between a project manager, his stakeholders, and his team members.
The best way to communicate to stakeholders is to meet them differently and by so doing, someone will quickly notice what his stakeholder prioritize most in the project, also the level of interest and most importantly, know the best way to communicate to them. Every stakeholders can not be communicated to in the same way and manner.
Also addressing there feedbacks shows that you give value to their input and this can help in building positive relationship.
And giving report of a bad situation/problem that arises during the cause of the project will not be that difficult because you would have master their act of communication. This must also be address promptly and works towards finding a mutually agreeable solution.
Effective communication is what keeps a project both to the stakeholders and the team members.

In our organizational context, adept communication relies on the skillful adaptation of style to suit the audience and timing. It entails thorough comprehension of both the work environment and the individuals involved. This includes assessing the mood and receptiveness of team members to tailor communication accordingly. As a Project Manager, recognizing these dynamics is essential. By gaining insights into the team and stakeholders, one can effectively manage emotions and cultivate project growth.
As an intended project manager, I believe communication is a very vital skill that must be considered, not just communication with Teammates or members only, but also the sponsor, and also the client…
It is also interesting to know that, communication to different people defers, so therefore as a good project manager u need to know best and effective way to pass or communicate each stakeholders……
Further more, it does not just end that communication, u must also be open for feedbacks, follow the feedbacks and make necessary adjustment when or if necessary. By so doing, you can be sure of carrying everybody along and getting the best co operation u might need. Thanks
I make use of communication a whole lot and I have to jot the things to be discussed in order to have an effective communication.
From the suggestions, the communication plan that works well in my organization is talking to stakeholders at different point in time, how the comms is working for them and device a reporting system that the stakeholders want and see as important instead of a professional project management report pattern.
As an intending project manager, I think communication is one of the vital role in bonding or building a good relationship with clients and also the project team. I shouldn’t be scared relating bad news or good news to my team. It’s necessary to be an effective communicator.
As a project manager, i think everyday communication is a good way of understanding your clients and giving status reports on the project.
In a day whereby your are to give report on what goes wrong, by then you already understood your clients and how to place the issues and also suggestions on what you think should be done about it.
In my organization, I shouldn’t be afraid to communicate bad news of a project but I must ensure I have had a prior discussion with individual stakeholders before bringing it to the stakeholders forum.
This has worked for me several times, even asides bad news. Communicating with individuals has a way of making the stakeholders owners of the project.
