  3. To safeguard myself when engaging with an online service provider, I have to consider the following steps:

    1. Strong, Unique Passwords: I need to imbibe the use of strong, unique passwords for each online account. I have to avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or common phrases.

    2. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): I need to enable 2FA whenever possible. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, such as a code sent to my phone.

    3. Regular Updates: I need to keep my devices, operating systems, and software up to date with the latest security patches and updates to protect against known vulnerabilities.

    4. Privacy Settings: I need to always review and adjust the privacy settings on my accounts to control who can see my information and how it is shared.

    5. Beware of Phishing: I have to be cautious of phishing attempts, where attackers try to trick me into revealing personal information or login credentials through fake emails, websites, or messages.

    6. Data Encryption: I have to always use encrypted connections (HTTPS) whenever possible, especially when transmitting sensitive information such as login credentials or financial details.

    7. Review Permissions: I have to regularly review the permissions granted to apps and services, and revoke access to any that are no longer necessary or seem suspicious.

    8. Backup Data: I have to regularly backup important data to a secure location to prevent loss in case of accidental deletion, device failure, or cyber attack.

    9. Security Software: I need to install reputable antivirus and anti malware software on my devices to detect and prevent malicious software from compromising my security.

    10. Education and Awareness: I have to stay informed about common cybersecurity threats and best practices for staying safe online. I need to educate myself to recognize and avoid potential risks.

By following these steps, I can significantly enhance the security of my accounts and data when engaging with online service providers.

  4. Dealing with reading the long terms of service when we visit a site can be challenging, especially when we have to quickly carry out an activity.

However, with the rise of threat actors looking for every possible means to steal and exploit personal information, it is very important that the next time I visit any new site, I should prioritize the safety of my personally identifiable information first.

This will enable me to relax and read through the terms of service and make appropriate decisions before using any website or app services.
