General virtual assistant are those virtual assistants that are in charge of all administrative tasks by organizing and making everything running smoothly both for business and for individuals. Some of the task done by this type of ValA includes: Email management, calendar scheduling, Travel arrangements, data entry.
On the other hand, specialized virtual assistant are those that are made for specific task or businesses. This includes: real estate, e-commerce, bookkeeping and niche industry VAs.
Specialization a VA can choose are: Managing of social media platforms for businesses including creating design, post for the growth of the business, Providing customer assistance thereby strengthening the connections between the companies and the clients.
Essential tools VA can use:
Zoom, Google meet or Skype: are video conferencing tools that enable clear communication via face to face connection for virtual meetings and consultations. It enhances VAs workflow by getting to know or see the face of the clients you’re dealing with or about to deal with.

Virtual Assistance is an in-demand skill, that involves remote provision of administrative, technical, creative, or professional support services by an individual or a team, commonly known as a Virtual Assistant(VA). This role is divided into two: the General Administrative VA and the Specialized VA. While both offer the duties of virtual assistance, there are differences between them.
The General Administrative VA is responsible for a broad range of routine administrative and office support tasks remotely. They render services like email management, calendar scheduling, data entry etc
The Specialized VA on the other hand, focus on a particular area of expertise, often requiring specific training or experience. They niche down to one aspect of the scope and focus their attention on that particular niche.
In conclusion, both general administrative virtual assistants and specialized virtual assistants offer assistance virtually or online to businesses but they however differ in the roles they offer. Advantages of nicheing down.
A. Reduces competition.
When in a particular segment of the market you would only have to compete with those in same segment with you and not with the entire market as a whole, you would have a defined competitor and also a defined competition.
B.word of mouth.
Taking for instance, a graphics VA who is very good at the job will be recommend by his previous clients.
