  2. My name is Martha Udo from Cohort 28. As a manager in a cyber cafe, I have realized the importance of the above six skills.

In my current role, I find myself using project management skills more than I ever realised, especially communication, negotiation, and time management. These are what keep projects moving smoothly and help me balance team priorities with client expectations.

I also try to uphold strong ethics and professional standards, particularly when dealing with sensitive information.

Where I feel less confident is in understanding the regulatory side of things and keeping up with structured professional development. To close these gaps, I’m planning to take some compliance training, work toward a certification, and set aside regular time for learning so I can stay ahead in my field.

To enhance my communication skills, I’m making a conscious effort to participate more actively in discussions. For time management, I’ve started using a scheduling approach, allocating specific time slots for tasks, which has not only boosted productivity but also allowed for flexibility. Regarding negotiation, I’ll apply the lesson learned about setting clear objectives before entering discussions, ensuring I’m better prepared for successful outcomes.

However, an area where I see room for improvement is ethics and adherence to standards. While I understand the importance of maintaining integrity and compliance, I believe I can further strengthen my knowledge and application of ethical guidelines within project management.

To bridge this gap, I plan to:

Engage in specialized training or courses on project management ethics and compliance.
