    Finding your niche as a VA is very important as it will guide you to know who your target clients are. Knowing what you are interested in would help you streamline who to reach out during your job search. For instance, as creative or designer, you’d be more inclined to search for fashion brands than someone in a health field.

    As a VA, there are different tools available to us to work effectively and efficiently. One of the tools I would use to manage a calendar smartly would be Google calendar.

    Step-by-step process
    1. I would review and assess their existing schedule.
    2. Have a meeting with my client to discuss thier existing schedule in order to block out their repetitive events.
    3. Plot out personal time on their calendar
    4. Create a calendar template.
    5. Schedule meetings and sending out invitations using the same tool.
    6. If there’s need to put out a note or include the details of a meeting, there’s room for it on the calendar.

    If I have a different time zone with my client, I would make use of “Savvy time” tool.

Your chosen niche would influence your client search strategy because with your niche, you would tailor your marketing to attract only those in the niche you have chosen, when you blog or advertise, you speak and channel your words directly to them, when you search on platforms, you search directly on those who are in your chosen niche this also relate to when sending out mails. Another way it influences your client search is that, you would know the kind of webinars, events or industries groups to join.
    Basically, it helps you target your audience and attract clients who are in niche you chosen, it helps you limit your search to a certain set of market. However, the negative influence is that when the your niche market becomes popular, it will lead to competition and lower rates because it becomes harder to differentiate yourself from other virtual assistants offering similar services in same niche as you.

    1) Understand the clients goals and brand: I will gather information on the brand, the target audience, the business goals. I would use Zoom, Emails or Google forms, and onboarding questionnaire technique.
    2) I will need to review their bio, hashtags, past engagements and consistency.
    3) Research about the industry and their competitors, note what sets my client apart from their competitors then identify content types and strategies that would work well in my clients niche.
    4) I will create a content strategy by deciding on the content pillars then I choose platforms to focus on.
    5) I will design visually appealing graphics using Canva or Adobe and merge it will engaging captions.
    6) I will create content calendar using Google sheets, or Trello .
    7) I will schedule posts using tools like buffer, I will also decide content batches. I would also need to double – check time zones and optimal posting times.
    8) I will engage with the audience, replying comments and direct messages.
    9) I would stay relevant.
    10) I will monitor performance, track post insights, engagement rate, follows, reach using social media analytics tools like buffer.
    11) I would need to report to client with updates.

    i. Research industry / niche trends: In setting rates it’s important to do a research of the prevailing value of that service so you don’t over charge or undercharge your clients for your services which will make the client suspicious of the quality service you’re rendering.
    ii. Consider your cost of living to be sure you’ll be able to cover your cost of living and negotiate charge in fares with your clients rather than giving discounts.

    • when a client expresses dissatisfaction with my job, my approach is to listen actively, acknowledge their concerns and work collaboratively to find a solution.
