Probably, future HR will have to do more of administrative function and can still remain relevant as there is a way by which humans will collaborate with AI. In the sense that HR can supervise over what AI implements.
I feel like as technology evolves, companies are focusing on continuous learning and development to equip employees with the skills needed for the future.
The future trend I see rapidly catching is the digitalization of HR roles. I believe AI can not entirely threaten the field but it is a significant threat to some parts of the field. That scares me but also prompts me to do more and increase my knowledge and looking for ways to stay on top of whatever threat AI throws to the HR field.
I am ruling out AI assuming the role of HRs because Human nature and activities are unpredictable, and machines can’t fully comprehend humans and their cultures.
For Nigeria specifically, the obvious future is the remote work arrangement. Another is introducing HR Data and Analytics and maybe business intelligence to it, Employee welfare, and more of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
