  1. Terminating a project early can be depressing, listening to her on how she managed the whole situation brings me back to principles of a project manager (showing empathy). The 3 Project managers succeeded in taking care of the difficult situations, having one goal in mind which was to control damages and still achieve the primary aim.

  2. It’s important to bring out solutions even if it seems difficult or teams are no longer engaged. So according to this project managers i have retained those ways of solved out issues :
    1. Being able to associated all accord of projects to bring them to make decision that offer davantage for all such as the water project where client finally paid for themselves in other to push forward the tasks
    2. Decision to terminate a project early can be painful because the team and the project managers invest a lot effort to put in the organisation. Flexibility is necessary and adapt consistency matters alot.
3.Develop an ability to bring together différent people of different countries is mandatory for making successful the project
    4. Take people around the table and map up goals and remind them why they are there when things are not going in the direction they wish it would be is necessary.

  3. The 3 APM will have taking the same decision because they all have the project at heart and to come out successfuly, all decisions taking was ehtical approach to solve their problems, first APM talks about having solved a water issue with the community and even though it cost the client extra fund for the solution, second APM talks about early counsellation of the project due to some foreseen circumstance while the third APM talks about facing a language barrery and has an APM you have to be able to speak in all mens language.

  4. So far, I have learnt that a project manager often faces difficult decisions that can impact timelines, budgets, team morale, and project success. To navigate this challenges effectively, a pm needs to:

    1. Gather and Analyze Information
Identify the root cause of the issue.
Collect relevant data, including risks, costs, and potential outcomes.
Seek input from stakeholders, team members, and subject-matter experts.

    2. Evaluate Options Objectively
List possible solutions and weigh their pros and cons.
    Consider short-term and long-term consequences.
Use decision-making frameworks like SWOT analysis or a decision matrix.

    3. Consult with Stakeholders
Engage key stakeholders to understand their perspectives.
Keep open communication with sponsors, clients, and team members.
Align decisions with business goals and project objectives.

    4. Consider Risks and Mitigation Strategies
Assess potential risks associated with each option.
Develop contingency plans to minimize negative impacts.
Use risk assessment tools like risk registers.

    5. Trust his Judgment and Make the Decision
    Avoid overanalyzing or delaying unnecessarily.
Take responsibility and make the best decision based on available information.
Be confident and decisive to maintain team trust.

    6. Communicate Clearly and Effectively
Ensure transparency in explaining the decision and rationale.
Address concerns and provide a clear action plan.
Tailor communication style to different stakeholders.

By following these steps, a project manager can handle difficult decisions effectively while maintaining project integrity and team morale.

  5. The project managers were focused on achieving the very best at the situations they were in. They might likely make the same decision in another situation that is similar.

  6. Making decisions can always be tough, sometimes. The managers gave a perfect illustration of the needs of project managers’ mastery, which all of them were tied to communication, the issues being either a breach in communication or overcommunication leading to many options as the case of one. This expresses the need of good communication planning across all milestones.

  7. The 3 PM in the video was more concerned about their client’s satisfaction. Yes, they may likely have acted differently in a different context. The issues encountered by the project managers, namely, Terminating the project early, issues with the venue, and language, required them to make a difficult decision, which in turn favored the parties involved. Clear and honest communication plays a vital role.

  8. Difficult decisions, like early project termination, demand careful thought. Though valid reasons may exist, consider salvaging any valuable output. Remind the team of their initial goals and be transparent about the reasons for termination. Especially with international teams, be mindful of language and cultural differences, as communication is crucial in navigating these challenges.

  9. Communication is important in decision making. Yes’ they’d act differently because of different projects different approach.
