3 experts have described difficult decisions they had to take in one project.
Now think about what was important for them in taking the decision the took. Would they act differently in a different context? Why?

As long as the client subscribes to every decision and it is not solely or secretly done by the project manager alone, it’s fine.

Reflecting on the difficult decisions taken by the project managers, I don’t think they would have acted differently in another context so long as due diligence was done by communicating with relevant stakeholders to make them understand the core need for such decisions to be taken and all parties are in agreement with the final resolve. I think this will increase trust and eventually attract future project opportunities and recommendations.
While the decisions were quite difficult, the fact that it was in favor of the project and what the stakeholders needed was worth it. The project manager often makes decisions that Favors their projects.
No, i don’t think they would have acted differently in another context. They communicated the difficulties across and were able to negotiate solutions with all stakeholders. Even if some bore the lossed more than others, atleast an agreeable point was reached like in the case of the water supply.
Can you be more specific about the content of your article? After reading it, I still have some doubts. Hope you can help me.
I think the most important thing with the decisions they took was that they ensure it was what the stakeholders needed and that it was also the best thing to do at that point
I think the most important thing for the Project Managers is that; they ensured that they were in the same page with the Stakeholders/teammates so that there can be mutual understanding even though they did not plan for such a difficult decision. I think they would have acted differently, probably if there was a better reason why the project should go as planned.
For me, these experts made decisions guided by impact and stakeholders needs or expectations of the project.
Also, I think they would act differently in a different context because their actions and decisions would change, in order to suit the context of such project.

I think the most important thing for them was getting the actual view of the stakeholders:what they actually needed from them.
I don’t think they would have acted differently because it was a situation at hand that needed a solution at that moment.
Maybe now they’ll be able to handle the situations better but it’s all part of the experience.
