Various definitions of the concept of quality have been put forward.
One generic definition (Pass, 2006b) is as follows:
The overall characteristics of a product or service that fulfill the requirements of customers in terms of quality.
This definition aligns with the viewpoint of Joseph Juran, who, in the 1950s, defined quality as ‘fitness for use’ (as quoted in ASQ, 2019).
This definition is largely consistent with the definition of quality provided by APM (2019, p. 214):
The suitability for the intended purpose and the degree to which the output of a process or the process itself conforms to the requirements.

- Quality problems should be concealed from customers and possibly managers.
- Individuals are enthusiastic about producing high-quality outcomes.
- Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.

In my view
Quality should be taken into account from the inception of the project. This is because it helps the team put what is expected of them into viewpoint and prevents them from exceeding or falling short of expectations.
Open discussions about quality problems are necessary to find solutions. In order to ensure that the proposed process is followed and that any obstacles to completing it are addressed, communication and collaboration are essential while a project is being conducted.
Indeed, Quality should prioritize the customer’s needs! I will go with 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8

I think quality should be discussed from the inception of the project. This is to ensure that there is no under estimation of cost of materials which might cause the project manager to go for a lesser quality or demand for more funds from the project sponsor.
Quality problems should be hidden from the managers because disclosing such can mare the project success because even if the project manager later gets quality materials, there maybe distrust from the managers to the project manager.
* Quality should be focused on the customer’s needs: i agree with this but should be run a statistical scale, not to lead to complexity problem of choice.
*Quality is focused internally: i don’t agree fully with this, the quality can be controlled internally but the standard for checking the product’s quality can on be gotten from the customers or product survey.
*Quality should be considered from the beginning of the project: i agree with this point as correction measure may cost more than proposed on the product and hence should be focused on from the beginning of the project.
*Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions: feedbacks is most essential for the deliverable to meet the general standard and not compound individual problems as regarding the deliverable or product.
*Quality problems should be hidden from customers and possibly also managers: i disagree with this.
People are keen on producing quality outputs: people focus more on cost and beating project deadline rather than focusing on quality.
*Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision: true, they can deviate from product quality with time, when not supervised.
I agree with these:
Quality should be focused on the customer’s needs.
Quality is focused internally.
Quality should be considered from the beginning of the project.
The execution phase of a project is the most critical to achieve quality targets.
Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions.
Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.
I don’t agree with these:
Quality problems should be hidden from customers and possibly also managers.
People are keen on producing quality outputs.
As a project manager, I am currently working on revamping a home for a client.
Over the years, I found quality very important and how it can make or mar ones project.
On this project, we have gone through the stage of material selection which we ensure that was briefed and gave the opportunity to choose materials so as to avoid conflict of taste and so on
I think
1. Quality should be considered from the project’s inception. This is because it helps the team put into perspective what they are expected to deliver, it helps to avoid going over or under board as regards what is expected
2. Quality issues should be openly discussed to identify corrective actions. This is why communication as well as collaboration is very integral while a project is been undertaken, it helps to check that the proposed process is adhered to, and if there are challenges to achieving it, solutions can be seeked.
Once the Idea of a Project is conceived From hence Quality is involved till the end of the project.
Quality should be focused on the customer’s needs.
Quality should be considered not just from the beginning of the project but from the beginning, to the execution and delivery phase
Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions.
I do not agree that Quality problems should be hidden from customers and possibly also managers. Quality should not be focused internally.
Quality makes you outstanding and you get recommendations for next project
quality should be a major watch word in every project it should be the project it self. it shouldn’t just be a thing decided qt the beginning of the project but it should be implemented through out the projects life cycle so as to locate flaws and proper solutions to them
As a Project manager, Achieving quality in any given project is very important, although it can be affected by certain factors.
Quality should be considered from the beginning of a project. As a project manager quality should be what you look at when going about your project. It’s a good character that will leave you a good name/goodwill, people will recommend you to other when they relaise the quality in your work. With all the collaboration, effective communication and team work;quality is what c
