Various definitions of the concept of quality have been put forward.
One generic definition (Pass, 2006b) is as follows:
The overall characteristics of a product or service that fulfill the requirements of customers in terms of quality.
This definition aligns with the viewpoint of Joseph Juran, who, in the 1950s, defined quality as ‘fitness for use’ (as quoted in ASQ, 2019).
This definition is largely consistent with the definition of quality provided by APM (2019, p. 214):
The suitability for the intended purpose and the degree to which the output of a process or the process itself conforms to the requirements.

Quality is a key component in determining the success of a project. Every organization that requires an impressive output will usually want quality but the determinant of that is how much they are willing to pay to get quality. Quality in relationship to budget must be discussed with the client before project proceeds.
I believe since quality in simple terms means “fitness for use”, then the customers and managers should be made aware of quality problems and issues. This will help the company easily know what needs to be adjusted and changed to meet the customers’ quality.
Beforehand, quality is usually discussed before the inception of a project based on research carried out on user preferences. So I believe the project team does not necessarily need close supervision to produce quality products if it has been discussed openly and what it is aimed at achieving.
This just means that quality is a team effort, from the user, the project teams, the project manager and the stakeholders (sponsors).
Quality can be defined as the degree of excellence or superiority of a product, service, or process. It refers to the characteristics or attributes that fulfill or exceed customer expectations and requirements. Quality is often associated with factors such as reliability, durability, functionality, performance, aesthetics, and customer satisfaction.
In various industries, quality can have different dimensions and standards. For manufacturing, quality may involve meeting specific product specifications, ensuring consistency in production, and minimizing defects or variations. In services, quality may revolve around responsiveness, professionalism, accuracy, and the ability to meet customer needs effectively.
Quality management systems and practices are implemented to ensure that products or services consistently meet or exceed the desired standards. These systems typically involve quality planning, quality control, and quality assurance, aiming to identify and correct defects, prevent issues, and continuously improve processes.
Quality is a fundamental aspect of delivering value to customers and building trust in products or services. It requires a focus on meeting or surpassing customer expectations, complying with standards, and continually striving for improvement.
I believe quality should be considered at the beginning of the project and by so doing customers needs are prioritised which will lead to customer satisfaction at the end of the project’s.
A project should be able to meet a required standard and exceed customers expectation. I agree with statement 1,3,5,7 & 8.
