  1. yes I would say the diverse do better, reasons is because they do things collectively they plan and the thier task together the diverse can work under pressure and they always make a great team.

  2. Diversity is an efficient tool for the enhancement of performance.

I’ve worked with organizations where diversity homogeneity. The team were not familiar with each but gave the project a perfect touch.

The one of the disadvantage in diversity is friction as a result of a good number of the team members wanting to lay down their ideas and opinions.

  3. I once had an experience working in an accounting department for the first time even when my CV indicated i should be with the tech team. However, this department was searching for individuals that can perform task a bit more faster.

They are some SOP that an accounting person will first want to follow through with his knowledge before execution wasting lot of time before covering the learning period trying to admit his/her experience before execution knowing fully well that some processes has been automated.

However, with my fast ability to adaptation to new environment and quick learning, i was able to learn their processes in 24hours and also assist with related I.T issues without having to reach out to the I.T department.

The advantages of diverse team helps to focus on the BIG picture and the reason for onboarding bypassing the storming stage and achieving the vision within a short time.

  4. Diversity in teams could bring forth certain advantages as well as disadvantages namely:
advantages of broader points of views, high adaptation to project needs.
it has a challenge of conflicts due to the different points of view and the problem of inclusion and equity

  5. Diversity can be quite helpful in managing projects but I believe it is important that some similarities are put into consideration as certain folks might have issues working with people with whom they share no form of relationship with. So it is necessary that they all have a common/shared knowledge and by bringing them all together, they can perform optimally

  6. Diversity can indeed have a powerful impact on team performance and organizational success. In my experience, diverse teams often bring together a range of perspectives, which leads to richer discussions and more innovative solutions. People from different backgrounds and experiences approach problems uniquely, which is invaluable for tackling complex challenges and avoiding groupthink. This diversity fosters creativity and enables the team to consider broader market and user needs, translating into stronger outcomes and more adaptive strategies.

However, working within diverse teams also comes with certain challenges. Communication styles, cultural norms, and personal biases can lead to misunderstandings or conflicts. There can be differences in expectations around things like decision-making speed or openness in sharing ideas, which may affect cohesion if not managed thoughtfully. Building trust and establishing clear communication channels are essential to harness the potential of diverse teams and mitigate these challenges.

Overall, when managed well, diversity enhances performance, but it requires intentional team-building efforts, sensitivity to individual differences, and strong leadership to align everyone’s strengths toward shared goals.

  7. Diversity team is important especially in our digital world where building trust and collaboration skills are essential to harness the strength of diverse teams. You can only achieve your goals when everyone as the same mindset or different mindset to achieve the same goals.

  8. There is a distinct ad unique connection between diversity and performance in Project management. Having a diverse team brings a unique set of skills and values that are crucial for a project. Diversity goes beyond gender, sex, race, and culture—it also includes intrinsic values, perspectives, ideologies and different personalities. This variety enhances creativity, decision-making, improves problem-solving abilities, and leads to innovative solutions and more effective project outcomes; these traits are essential for handling complex or iterative projects compared to a homogenous team.

However, the team members maybe lacking in communication and collaboration skills and this may pose a problem. It is essential to leverage these problems to maintain team cohesion. This helps mitigate any challenges that might ensuring that the team works together and fully harnesses its diverse strengths and capabilities.

  9. Yes, this aligns with my experience. Diverse teams bring together varied perspectives, enhancing creativity and problem-solving, which often leads to higher performance and better outcomes. In my observations, teams with diverse backgrounds and skill sets tend to produce superior work, as they consider a broader range of solutions and can address complex challenges more effectively.

However, highly diverse teams can also face challenges. Communication differences, varied working styles, and potential conflicts can sometimes slow decision-making or lead to misunderstandings. These challenges emphasize the importance of strong leadership, open communication, and a culture of inclusion to ensure everyone’s contributions are valued and the team can maximize its strengths.

  10. There is a strong connection between diversity and performance. When a team is made up of individuals from different fields of study with different level of skill expertise and diverse expressions of ideas, views and ideologies. All these put together will make a team to do valiantly. But a challenge would be storming in Tuckman’s identification, which will make the members to have tension and conflict but this can be easily overcome when the project manager comes in, to moderate, encourage and emphasises the indispensability of each members of the team.
