While a specialized virtual assistant is one who provides an industry specific service section even though they can still perform the duties of a general virtual assistant. They are equipped with more skills and tools which makes them a perfect fit for specific roles. Examples of this includes E-commerce VA, Real Estate VA, Social Media VA, Technical VAs and so on. Also a specialized VA earns more than a general VA because of their additional knowledge and skillset.

    a) Reduced competition, because of the additional learning most VAs would prefer to stick to what they know already.
    b) Higher pay rates: most employers prefer to employ an expert to handle their tasks and this also translates to higher pay rate because of specialization.
    While there are numerous benefits there’s difficulty with choosing a specific focus, first as a beginner who hasn’t explored other fields to see which one he/she enjoys one might choose a niche that could lead to burnout and in some cases one could also choose a niche that is not currently marketable.
