  1. Mine requires communication, negotiation, time management, ethics & standards, and continuing professional development. These are all important project management skills that are applicable in various areas of lives. To improve any skill gaps, learning new and effective methods and frameworks and doing a lot of practise, while putting systems in place are very helpful.

  2. I’m Akanni Sinmisola Olufunmi- Cohort 23. Team 1.
    I currently work as a Logistics and global trade specialists and the skills I require to function effectively includes the 1. Communication skill – In global trade, This skill is very key and important, as every process and activities needs to be communicated and well understood, as it involves communicating across borders with people from different cultural background. Hence a reason for constant communication especially in written form.

    Time Management is another important skilling logistics as every process is time bound and time wasted has cost implications. Hence a reason why processes and activities are been prioritised according to their importance in order to meet up with specific deadlines.

    I’m not currently working, but I can see how project management skills apply to everyday life and future opportunities. Good communication and negotiation help in building relationships and making connections, while time management keeps me on track with personal goals. Understanding rules and ethics is useful in any situation, and constantly learning new things helps me stay prepared for whatever comes next. These skills will definitely come in handy as I figure out my next steps.

    Also since we live in an ever changing world, professional development is important as well, because I’ll need to continue learning to keep up with the trend

  5. I am Millicent, cohort 22, In my current role as an administrator in a school communication is key. Communicating with parents, students, and colleagues on a daily basis is something i can’t shy away. This helps me to know how to serve them better.

As a creative in the Logo design and Brand Development role, negotiation and Knowledge of the Regulatory environment are very crucial and have been a great challenge since one involves people (having an array of designer options with different budgets) and the other one is legal (which requires a better understanding on legal matters global for specific project milestones). As a good communicator, a time manager, and big in ethics and standards, setting time to increase knowledge in the legal regulatory environment on design project, and learning best negotiation practices through reading books on the same will better address this gap in my industry role as a creative.

  7. As a Customer Support Representative, project management skills are essential for handling customer inquiries efficiently, managing workflows, and improving service quality. Here’s how the six key areas relate to my role:

    Understanding the Regulatory Environment – Gaining deeper knowledge of industry rules and policies to provide accurate information.

  8. My job requires ethics and standard, good communication skills, Negotiation, time management and continuing professional development this is why I need to increase my knowledge on the six areas. I’ve resolve to be more intentional with these skills as I learn and put them into work for a better result and to never stop learning.
