Various definitions of the concept of quality have been put forward.
One generic definition (Pass, 2006b) is as follows:
The overall characteristics of a product or service that fulfill the requirements of customers in terms of quality.
This definition aligns with the viewpoint of Joseph Juran, who, in the 1950s, defined quality as ‘fitness for use’ (as quoted in ASQ, 2019).
This definition is largely consistent with the definition of quality provided by APM (2019, p. 214):
The suitability for the intended purpose and the degree to which the output of a process or the process itself conforms to the requirements.
Now take a moment to consider the following statements about quality. Which ones do you agree with?
- Quality should prioritize the customer’s needs.
- Quality is an internal focus.
- Quality should be considered from the project’s inception.
- The execution phase of a project is crucial for achieving quality goals.
- Quality issues should be openly discussed to identify corrective actions.
- Quality problems should be concealed from customers and possibly managers.
- Individuals are enthusiastic about producing high-quality outcomes.
- Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.

Quality can simply be referred to as laid down standard of goods or services, which flows through the input stage to the finishing stage (output). Putting into consideration the need/choice of the consumers/ clients or sponsor.
Quality is said to be achieved once customer’s satisfaction is achieved.
Quality is designed into the project from inception, if you wait till execution stage you might not get expected level of quality as some might have been based on how detailed your designs are.
Quality should be focused on the customer’s needs.
Quality should be considered from the beginning of the project.
Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions.
Quality problems should not be hidden from customers and possibly also managers.
I so much like the definition of “quality” given by Joseph Juran that defined quality as “fitness for use”.For the deliverables to be fit for use, quality must be a priority from start to finish.Doing this, helps to reduce wastages in both materials used to restart the project when you later get the feedback that your outputs failed customers’ expectations and secondly, time in delivering the projects. This is exactly what the iron triangle explained

The place of quality in project output cannot be overemphasized. It should be considered from the onset of the project along with time and cost.
Fully agreed that
Quality is vital it’s durable and will stand the rest of time so it needs to be inculcated to produce a good output.
Like I’m into paint production, for the conviction of customer quality is highly involved.
Quality is the hallmark of a project both to the stakeholders as well as the clients.
Quality should be considered from the start to the finishing stage of project with proper communication in all facets.

In any projects that you enbark upon you must always look at the quality. The beach mark of every project. The quality should be considered from the beginning of the project. everything done in the project work must be of high standard quality standard.
From what we have discussed so far. I agree with the following point
1. The quality of the project should be considered from the beginning of the project
2. The quality should be focused on the customer’s needs
