Various definitions of the concept of quality have been put forward.
One generic definition (Pass, 2006b) is as follows:
The overall characteristics of a product or service that fulfill the requirements of customers in terms of quality.
This definition aligns with the viewpoint of Joseph Juran, who, in the 1950s, defined quality as ‘fitness for use’ (as quoted in ASQ, 2019).
This definition is largely consistent with the definition of quality provided by APM (2019, p. 214):
The suitability for the intended purpose and the degree to which the output of a process or the process itself conforms to the requirements.

- Quality problems should be concealed from customers and possibly managers.
- Individuals are enthusiastic about producing high-quality outcomes.
- Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.

I agree that:
Quality should prioritize the customer’s needs.
Quality is an internal focus.
Quality should be considered from the project’s inception.
The execution phase of a project is crucial for achieving quality goals.
Quality issues should be openly discussed to identify corrective actions. Because it’s a teamwork and ideas on how to fix the quality problems should be collective and not just a one person thing.
All the above mentioned should not be neglected.
but the major part should be focused on Customer’s needs and user requirement and Specification. When it is focused on customer’s need. the project will be well planned, and the project will focus on obtaining the expected target and the standard will be met.
Finally, the resource allocated to the project will be utilized
I strongly agree that quality must meet the buyers needs and want or standard, in engineering quality is simply cost effective, durability, reliable, and must be able to meet the design desire to which purpose it was designed for. For exam PPP le if a slap was designed to carry 20kilonewton of load it must be able to carry it conveniently without any shear or crack. Thanks.
I agree with below assertions about quality;
Quality should be focused on the customer’s needs.
Quality is focused internally.
Quality should be considered from the beginning of the project.
The execution phase of a project is the most critical to achieve quality targets.
Quality issues should be discussed openly to find corrective actions.
Team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision.

Quality can refer to the standard or level of excellence in various aspects of society. It can encompass factors such as the quality of education, healthcare, infrastructure, social services, and living conditions. How these different dimensions of quality impact projects and contribute to the overall success of the project should be the uttermost desire of everyone working on a project.
I won’t succumb to the ideology that people work qualitatively when been supervised, rather quality is been produced when there are motivations and transparencies in the day today running of a project till completion.
When quality is prioritized before the commencement of the project, almost everyone will be on the same page in regards to producing quality result.

However I do not agree that all team members do not produce quality outputs without close supervision. Some team members value quality based on their morals and appreciation for a job well done. Therefore, some team members do no produce quality outputs without close supervision.
