This week, we begin by examining frameworks that help us grasp this intricate world. These frameworks guide our actions, responses, and decision-making in the face of complexity.

Next, we delve deeply into various methods and practices for managing projects when faced with uncertainty, instability, and change. These methods include linear approaches and life cycles, often known as the waterfall method, as well as iterative or agile approaches. You will explore the pros and cons of these methods, as well as the ongoing debates about them.

By the end, you’ll grasp how to use and blend these methods effectively to achieve successful project outcomes.

Global issues such as COVID -19, political upheavals, change in New Government or dispensation, the recent change in the Naira bills and the scarcity of the Naira bills, policies that emanated in market forces during these periods since year 2020 really had a negative impact on my job as a part time lecturer as time factors were exceeded, delay of funds transfer, movement was restricted and and all these Complexities brought about resource levelling at one point or the other as a lot of rescheduling had to be implored.

  2. Global competition has a significant impact on project management.
    In today’s interconnected world, businesses are increasingly operating on a global scale, and project managers must adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by this competitive landscape

  3. Global issues like Covid 19 changed the way we do things in my organization. We arrange virtual meetings, webinars ,virtual trainings etc and only do physical where very necessary. As a result we do more engagements and check-ins unlike before. Challenges are always seen before they swop on us.

  4. Well considering the effects of global issues in my place of work, I can say that it left us no choice than to get upgrade in the tools with which we render our service. The improvement in the area of technology is so impactful that if you fail to meet up with the trend you may end up not meeting up with the exact request your clients are placing on you.

    So on daily basis you look out for the latest technology available, get used to it so that you can deliver by so doing you will satisfy your client or firm

  5. The global issues mentioned above has had both positive and negative impacts on the education sector in recent years.
    Technology has improved significantly on the way lessons are being taught and how the day to day activities of the school are being conducted. With the introduction of technology many curricular and extracurricular activities have been digitalized. This has helped to promote teaching and learning activities, thereby improving students adaptation and in turn attracting new students to the school.
    Economic factors such as funding, budgeting of school equipment, employment of new professional staff has been on the low side due to the economic crises in the country.
    The education sector has risen to the task and has been able to improve and use new methods to make sure the global issues has minimal effect on it goals while embracing the new development.

Concerning technology, there are notable challenges, such as the continual need for learning to remain abreast of evolving tools and platforms. The integration of new technologies has the potential to amplify productivity, streamline processes, and enhance project outcomes. Moreover, insight into competitors’ strategies and market trends serves as valuable input for project planning, fostering innovation and refinement. Competitive pressures may also necessitate heightened efficiency and cost-effectiveness in project delivery, prompting meticulous resource allocation and risk management.

    Regarding social and political change, shifts in the political landscape can exert influence on stakeholder expectations, regulatory mandates, and market dynamics pertinent to my organization and projects. Establishing and nurturing relationships with pertinent stakeholders, coupled with transparent communication practices, are pivotal in navigating these evolving conditions effectively.

    The environmental crisis presents both significant risks and opportunities for my organization and projects. Environmental considerations may trigger regulatory shifts, alter consumer preferences, and shape investor expectations, thereby impacting project prioritization and resource allocation. Conducting thorough assessments of the environmental footprint associated with projects and implementing responsible strategies to mitigate environmental challenges are imperative.

    By addressing these global issues proactively, organizations can adapt to fluctuating circumstances, seize opportunities, and mitigate risks, ultimately fostering success and resilience within the dynamic business landscape.

  8. As an entrepreneur, I’m fascinated by the groundbreaking advancements in AI, particularly Generative AI, and its transformative impact on the business landscape. Integrating recent AI technologies into Project Management systems can significantly boost efficiency, particularly in handling complex projects. To fully leverage the potential of this innovation, project managers should also explore acquiring additional skills such as prompt engineering. As the world evolves rapidly and technology continues to reshape our lives, it’s crucial for project managers to evolve alongside it.

  9. Innovate or die! That maxim is so true in today’s world such that companies fold once they’re unable to keep up with the competition.
    A project manager needs to always keep abreast of all situations and keep evolving in a bid to have a good grasp of happenings both locally and globally.

  10. Base in my work in food manufacturing ( FMCG), I note the following

On the positive side, it provides opportunities for innovation in product development, such as incorporating smart packaging or utilizing data analytics for consumer insights. For FMCG, considerations like ethical sourcing, sustainable practices, and alignment with social values are increasingly important. Keeping abreast of these changes is essential to respond effectively in product development.
